Great. I thought I had lost my switch. But you helped a lot. Thanks.
awesome help, much appreciation. Straight to the point.
In 2023 it is still working
Thanks sir ji
Video still helpful. Should point out to first time users, if load_helper returns unknown command, just skip that step and display flash contents(dir flash:). It works just fine.

You've forget to mention that for some models (3560 for example) the MODE button must be kept pressed for at least 15 seconds before the swicht reboots and set the configuration to default.
Carlos Barbosa Thank you for highlighting this point. I'll keep it in mind for the next videos
You are correct Carlos, it will not work right if you don't, otherwise excellent info

Fantastic! :)
weird that I just held the mode button twice and startup-config got delete without powering off and I was able to to log back in, I did a "wr" command just in case. I'm did not follow the power off step, that's probably whey my startup-config got delete.
Thanks!
Thank you
Best vedio.........thank you...
+Rajeev Bawari you are welcome
+Rajeev Bawari you are welcome
Damn why you gotta press the keys so hard.
with this tutorial, will make remove all configuration or just my password?
When you change the config.text file to another name such as config.old, it essentially removes your production configuration. Once you are at initial configuration, type no. If you want to get your production configuration back, go ahead and type "copy flash:config.old running-config". At this time I would update your passwords accordingly, then commit the changes using "Write memory" or "Copy running-config startup-config"
No you don;t loose the config, but you
will need to get the config back i think
I didn't see a load_helper available; is mu OS old?
worked in end of 2021 :)
if you delete flash: config.text will the cisco rebuild a new one from scratch? I am trying to wipe all security information from the switch.
Tim Joseph
Deleting or renaming will take away your current configuration n security
At last of this process we have to save flash:config.text system: startup config?
Does this erase all settings?
Could you tell me how to reset? I have Cisco 2960 and I don't know how to do this. And what's the login
shouldnt the config.text be restored back?
Nice
well done
what if when i enter command dir flash:
2 -rwx 1921 config1.text
4 -rwx 1725 config.text
what file should i rename and why??
Thx
cool bro ...
hello, what to do when we do not have "load_helper" listed?
+cudencuden I had the same thing on a 3560 - go on to the next step
I try that but not access; When switch request user and password from console why i do
when do boot command switch reboot but no go to next step ;it go to normal boot and request user and password
When i enter flash_init, no output is displayed in console. Any help please?
The is awesome! Thank you Avaya3rdparty!
Didn't work for me. How long do you have to hold the mode button? I held it for 2 minutes and never got the switch: prompt. All I ever see is login as:
My 2950 is stuck where u paused the vid (boot). Does this usually take a while?
Some times it does
No mode button like Cisco 34 nad me 36, how
yes, we still do :)
My Switch does not have the load_helper, i only have flash_init then boot, i need to wipe the switch clean, please help!
Michael Siney I know it’s been 3 years but I am at your service 🤖
How to reset dax switch using consol
dire flash doesn't work on my 3750G -.-
after that:
Switch> rename flash:config.old flash:config.text
Switch> copy flash:config.text system:running-config
then change the password
Akram Naeem yea he forgot this part
Thank you soo much sir !!
