      Hey Rob,
      Thanks for saying.
I also enjoyed the process and the outcome.
Let's touch base about the different products people can use to help maintain their Jeeps soon.
      Thanks for this.
      Cheers.

Over the last year, I've applied 3 separate bottles of cheap ceramic coatings to fix oxidation on my 2016's clear coat (without preparing the paint beyond a wash, still worked like a charm lol), absolute life saver. Plus it makes it so much easier to clean. It also protects the plastic trim from the sun, if anyone was wondering.

Great point about protecting the plastic. What product did you use?

Swift waterless wash + sio2 in a spray, smelled amazing; Prime Solutions sio2 only spray; Shine Armor graphene sio2 spray.
Shine Armor seemed to have the most concentrated solution of the 3.

First thing I did on my new JL - ceramic belly-coating/ rust-proofing. Ceramic-coating of the paint - did not even consider, but just added to my list after I do the Racing Optics windshield protection. Even a new Jeep is a crazy investment!!!! It sucks that the manufacturer instead of fixing practical real life issues like rusting, paint chipping, towing capacity, or even 4xe battery range - they make cosmetic changes like useless 12 inch screen, new grill, new dash, come-up with new trim.

The basement super-wheelers will say you don’t wheel. I’m like you. I like having a clean Jeep in town. Ceramic coat (basic Adam’s graphene) has definitely made clean up after off-road a snap. Love your content. I’m just starting my channel & have a long way to go. Just having fun with it.

We spent tons of money to get our Jeep scratched on the trail. They are part of the story. Ha ha!
However, I do wax the Jeep once or twice a year with Meguiar's Ceramic Wax. Relatively easy to apply by hand and makes most scratches invisible.
I like the intro, cool reflection.

LOOKS GREAT !! I had plans to get the Rob L treatment by now, but still waiting for dealer to properly refinish their 1st door corrosion repair attempt. Have seen nothing but reports of great results of his work ,on a number of the local Jeep and Off-road club facebook pages.

Dino.....another great video....I use a ceramic wax on my jeep twice a year. It may not protect as well as the professional ceramic coating, but it's much easier. There are many ceramic products on the market today (although I am sure some are not as good as others).

I use Griot's Ceramic 3-in-1 wax. It seems to be a good product, but it probably doesn't last as long as the professional products. I occasionally use Griots Best in Show spray wax on top of my base wax.@@CheaperJeeperTV

Ceramic coat won't prevent the inevitable galvanic corrosion that happens on most jls.....sad that jeep continues to let this happen. its Why I sold my 21rubicon for a 23 Tacoma off road!

I assessed the paint after it was washed being a new vehicle. It did not need it. Now, if it was an older One and had lots of contaminants in the paint, then yes

how does the ceramic coating work with something like Rock Stopperz Door Hinge Protector? Does the ceramic coating go on before or after? If before, how would the ceramic coating affect how the hinge protector stick, if any issues? If after, would the ceramic coating yellow the hinge protectors making them visible?

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I checked with RockStopperz, and they said to stick the RockStopperz on first, and the ceramic coating can be done, on top. As for yellowing, I haven't heard of RockStopperz yellowing, but stick around, as I'll be doing follow up videos on both the RockStopperz as well as the ceramic coat.
      Cheers.
