I love how these creators of crash are really open and chill. I like this concept of creators beeing so open minded and in touch with their community, rather than hiding behind a big company
Keronari is a fantastic player, and has improved his time by about 30 seconds since this run. He's a very chill guy and explains a lot of the little things going on in the run, so if anyone is interested in hearing about the finer details of this speedrun, I would highly suggest checking him out, however I can comment about some of the questions brought up in the video: The two timers on the bottom left: the bottom one times the run real-time (with loads, referred to as RTA), and the top one is using a load remover, which detects loading screens and pauses the timer during loads (if not for this, the release patch of this game would be the only speedrun viable version, as the loading screens get a few seconds longer with every new patch. RTA loses almost 4 whole minutes compared to release patch from loads) Him hitting the TNTs in Roo's Tubes is intentional, hitting a TNT midair while on a downhill will preserver downhill momentum. The pause before entering the last hub world is because the hub hasn't loaded yet. the timer blocks it, but at the bottom left there's the "loading..." text, and you can not move until it goes away. This is referred to as "The Citadel Load," and we manually remove this time from the run, as it is a variable loading screen as well. Not mentioned is the part where Kero is losing and gaining multiple seconds on the "Enter Track" splits. This is caused by Podium RNG. After winning the race, there's 3 different camera panning angles you can get, which is completely random. The slowest camera pan loses over 3 seconds compared to the fastest one. There are 16 podiums in the run, so if you're really unlucky, you could lose well over 45 seconds just from podium RNG. Last but not least, I can definitely speak from the entire speedrunning community: PLEASE implement that "Speedrun Mode" idea, where cutscenes (and hopefully victory podiums) are automatically skipped, and an in-game timer is implemented. outside of the Podium RNG mentioned above, Speedrunning this game is kind of hard to get into because the load remover is an extra thing people have to set up on their PC while capturing the game. If the game had its own in-game timer, like Spyro: Reignited Trilogy, speedrunning would be much more accessible for people that are interested. Thank you for showing interest in our community!

The only form of micro transactions is the option to buy in game currency and even then that affects the game in no way and the additional characters can be unlocked without spending extra. I'm not saying every developer has to be exactly like them but the industry would be less toxic if more developers took a page or two from this wonderful game

RhinoDino the micro transactions didnt affect this game quality. You gain SOOO MUCH coins online (especially on weekends) that you don’t even need them. Only people who do are the ones that don’t have enough time to grind. I got every content in the pitshop with 400thousand wumpas to spare (and i dont even play online that much lol) Im just saying, micro transactions didnt ruin this game
I use to do most of this shortcut moves back then. The devs also raise the fence at 39:42 because theres an exploit were you can skip half the level. After i discovered it my brother laughed so hard how the character icon jumps so fast on the map hud.
On Tiny Arena the devs talk about needing to use the D-pad to U-turn, and they talk about having to swap to the D-pad to U-turn if you use analog. There is an easy way around this if you play on PS4 with analog. Go to Settings -> Accessibility Settings -> Customized Button inputs. Change either L2 or R2 to D-pad down. You can now U-turn by pressing Square+Shoulder button, whichever you decided to remap. This method lets you perfectly U-turn on analog independent of the direction you have the stick in.
I actually appreciate the amount of work the devs did when it comes to the environment. Sometimes subtle, but most of the time adding the right elements to just bring all the maps/worlds alive and unique.

On the off chance the devs are around in this comments section, you guys did an amazing job with this game. I was 5 years old in 1999, and the original CTR was one of the first games I ever played. My parents split up around a year earlier, so I was going through a really difficult time, and I wasn't seeing my dad much at all. By the time this game came out, my little sister and I would spend weekends at his place, and we'd all sit on the couch and pass the controller back and forth, trying our best to beat the game one stage at a time. To be honest, I had almost forgotten those times, even though they were some of the happiest experiences I had during a very rough period, so I blocked a lot of that time out. But you guys brought all those happy memories flooding back the second I played Nitro-Fuelled. Yes I know there are controversies around the title, but in those moments of just pure racing gameplay goodness, the feeling and experience of playing the game is spot on. CTR goes beyond nostalgia for me, it's a game that actually means something, and I'd hazard to say that it was the title that kicked off my life-long obsession with gaming.

I love these videos so much! Seeing the N’ Sane Trilogy reaction and now this has gotten me wanting more. It’s very wholesome and just the right kind of content. Would love to see more with Spyro and other games :)
They did a insane job with this game, base content and post-launch content. The only complain is the online with could be better.
So you dont care about microtransactions
RhinoDino the micro transactions didnt affect this game quality. You gain SOOO MUCH coins online (especially on weekends) that you don’t even need them. Only people who do are the ones that don’t have enough time to grind. I got every content in the pitshop with 400thousand wumpas to spare (and i dont even play online that much lol) Im just saying, micro transactions didnt ruin this game
@@BEXUS99 True, with wumpa time too
@Anime Is a plague ¿
Anime Is a plague lmao ripoff? Wheres the proof that its a ripoff?
Crazy part is that for a big portion of the run, he's running red splits so he could have done some portions of the early game even faster
What does red splits mean
@@ONIGIRIKINGU the time splits, the red ones that shows that he es losing time
I use to do most of this shortcut moves back then. The devs also raise the fence at 39:42 because theres an exploit were you can skip half the level. After i discovered it my brother laughed so hard how the character icon jumps so fast on the map hud.
lots of fun hearing the devs talk about the maps and stuff. Never played this game but still fun to watch.
I hope they reconsider that speedrun option, that actually would've been a pretty cool feature to have.
Sometimes subtle, but most of the time adding the right elements to just bring all the maps/worlds alive and unique.
kinda wierd that they sometimes dont know whats coming next or dont know shortcuts but these dudes are really chill and just show that they are just human like the rest of us
except wr speedrunners :D
Dev: We have multiple hidden shortcuts
Other dev: I know
This is probably my favorite thing to watch now. I hope they do more dev reactions.
This was probably my favorite speedrun reaction to watch. Hearing their reactions is so much fun
How did he not know that the jump at Papu's temple was there? I've been doing that shortcut since the PS1 pizza hut demo! lol
Keep these videos coming! We all love them!
Is it possible to get a video like this with the devs reacting but the speedrunner also being in the chat so they could ask eachother questions etc ? I think that would be a amazing video
I absolutely love this series! just getting the devs to react to the play through of their game is fun enough, a speed run makes it 10 times better! Keep it up!
These devs are my favorite out of videos that I’ve seen. They crack me up 😂😂
I am really enjoying these speed run reaction videos. Please keep them coming.
Imagine them watching this and 2 weeks later dropping a 10gb patch xD
Thanks for this game! When I played it I feel like I was playing the original game when I was a kid. I also enjoyed every detail you added we do look at them an have noticed the fantastic amount of work put on it! Great remake thanks
i love it when the devs who test the game thousands of times still learning new thing from their thing ahaha
Shoutout to the beenox devs for doing such a great job at describing not only how they feel about the speedrun but also about exactly what made them so passionate about the project and the love and details they put into each level
You’ve done us kart racers n. Sanely proud !
Alternate title: CTR developers get one minute to talk about their levels
16:36 they even know that is unfair, please fix! Those invisible crashes can happen in almost every race
Yes they are everywhere even on the normal track not only shortcuts.
They don't happen that often maybe once in every 50 races
Now that they’re done with Grand Prix. Maybe Activision will let them, instead of forcing them to push out content
I'm glad he gave a shout-out to the Australian firefighters, as I thought about using the firefighter Dingodile skin as a gesture of solidarity. I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I'm still glad I heard someone say it.
Did anyone else notice how he was calling ripper roo “rilla roo”
NO
yeah rilla is the gorilla from crash bash, is he even in CTR?
Yes wtf
Yes indeed, and how he misstates that they added the keys for the doors. They were already in the original on ps1
GekkeGerrit think he meant the animations for the keys opening the doors
What an amazing group that worked on this game. Their commentary was so hilarious lol, insane run as well ofcourse. Abaolutely insane.
"Joe, fire somebody!" 😂😂😂
Best TH-cam channel ever honestly i get fun in all the videos keep it up
Now we want CD Projekt Red to react to the 20 hour 100% Witcher 3 speedrun. Do it.
lmao
We need more games like these. They're so much fun and a blast for the whole family and friends alike of all ages!
"I'm gonna put collisions" hell yea that's what I love to hear.
I love these Developer reacts, I love hearing what the devs have to say about their games and about the speed-runners. I didn't even know you could speed-run this game lol. Also all of that drifting, *Euro-beat intensifies.*
They should send the guy a real trophy that has his world record time
They really should. The devs obviously admire the pros of this game. Sadly, Activision doesn't.
PLEASE KEEP DOING THESE. its literally the best series out there right now for this channel
49:19 - 49:35
Anyone noticed that Oxide got stuck recovering from that chasm after he got hit? 😂🤣🤣
This is one of the best series on TH-cam that I’ve found. I love watching somebody cheese a game while the devs watch
Loved this game when i was young, never knew it was remade. I'm really going to save up to buy all the remade crash games.
Subscribe to my channel for awesome stuff about CTR Nitro Fueled!
Woah the throwback, haven't seen gameplay of these since I played on PS2! Awesome!
Devs time trials will be interesting to beat
I have a bad feeling about this.
Not for this guy though haha
Easy* to beat
Aaron Coombes not
Still fairly easy haha
dude! that was one crazy battle going on for 2nd place around 38:10, you know, just before 1st place lapped them both... lol.
The game looks so beautiful 🏁💕
Hey y’all. I watch this daily for the commentary + the speedrun. This video is genuinely impeccable.
The silence in the exploits. I mean. I’m really at a loss of words.
