I think that it is very well to share own experiences with another patients , who went through similiar therapy and postoperative periods. It is very great idea.

Thanks for the info and advice. I’m 4 days post op from my resection and scalenes. I’m constipated and hurts like crazy when I cough. I’m hoping to be off oxycodone by next week

Fist thank so much it’s been very helpful watch and learn from someone whose been in the same situation . I had the same TOS surgery June 29 at Vanderbilt , I’m home still with a lot of pain ( mostly sharp stabbing pain from my back to my hearth ) and no able to reduce pain med , it felt warm on the incision place for awhile ? Also I noticed your elbow surgery I had the same from a cubic release done 2 years ago

You’re welcome, I’m glad this page has helped 😊 the pain stayed with me for a good 2-3 weeks, so it looks like you’re still within that window. I had to stop the strong pain medication, but I did rely on ibuprofen and Tylenol around the clock for the first 1.5-2 weeks. And yes, I’ve heard that since TOS is not that common, it’s typical that there may have been previous surgeries done before they explore TOS!

I just had first rib resection last week Tuesday after having V-TOS
The first 6 days I was experiencing pain on the chest side of resection (under Colour bone) day 6 I started having crazy pain from my shoulder until my 2/3 fingers and the pain at the rib location calmed down. Has anyone experienced this strong pain on the upper and lower part of the hand?

How many appointments and days did you have to go to Mayo to get all the testing done prior to your surgery? Did you do two separate trips or more?

Is there any way to get in touch with you personally ? My daughter is in surgery as we speak for this, and I was wondering if there was a way to get in touch with you privately instead of here in You tube ? Thank you so much .........your videos will help her immensely.

I just had my emg on January 14 2021. I have thorasic outlet syndrome. Im on lyrica for fibromyalgia but it doesn't help with tos and my Dr just stopped my therapy cuz it was making it worse. These issues started back in 2019 and just keeps getting worse. Is there anything that helped before having surgery or to get you to surgery.

I did try gabapentin (I could only tolerate 100mg a day because of the drowsiness it caused), but it didn’t help me much. I tried pregabalin as well, but it was too strong, and I was “out of it”, so I discontinued after a week. Deep tissue massages helped me get by, and really, I avoided any big stressors, like lifting heavy things or doing activities with repetitive motion. I also would take hot showers, and let the water hit my neck, then down the shoulder and arm for a bit. I would also consider acupuncture from someone with a lot of experience because it’s helped me some post-surgery.

@@thoracicoutletsyndromether8930 I'm currently waiting for a MRI. I'm on lyrica but it only helps with my fibromyalgia. I can't tolerate the generic form or gabapentin. I do the hot showers but it doesn't do much for me anymore. I'm from south Texas, where did you have to go for surgery?
