For the weeds in the gravel drive, my brother started using a special blow torch meant to kill all the weeds! No chemicals, and super fun to use! 😂

Just wanted to stop and say how much I love and appreciate your videos. The info you provide, your humor and just genuine mom-ness makes these the best! I love watching your videos most mornings with coffee and they motivate me throughout my day, whether it’s homeschool or working my way throughout the house. Between you and my coffee that’s all I need to start my day 💕😘💕

In regards to the driveway perimeter, you can use a high concentration of vinegar and a little dish soap to kill almost anything. It kills grass/weeds, etc. Just an idea, so it safe around kids/animals. We sprayed it on our property earlier as a spot treatment to kill where burrs were growing. 1oz dish soap per 1 gallon of vinegar.

I just got back from vacation to the Florida keys with my son and the grandkids and talking about NOT 🔥🔥🔥you only had to walk outside and the heat was horrible and the pool felt like a sauna but it was still amazing. I just loved this video on the patio❤❤❤❤. I really now want to add more flowers around my patio.

You can buy this plastic mesh/guard that you partially bury which stops dogs digging and after a time the grass grows through and you can barely see it (also great for high traffic areas).

See if you can get Chipdrop in your area. It's a service that local arborists can use to dump the clippings from when they trim trees. You can get mulch and/or logs if you have a firepit. It's compelling free, although I always pay the $20 fee for the arborist, but you get a gigantic pile of mulch. You can use it fresh for cover or you can let it break down a bit, then it's great for your planting beds. $20 for an enormous pile of mulch.

Impatiens flowers and alyssums would look beautiful around the patio area....they just need watered daily. They spread out so you don't need much. Alyssums are a carpet flower and Impatiens grow up and out it would be beautiful.

My condolences on the weather. I went to TN last summer and it was 95 degrees but like 90% humidity. I was on the plane waiting to exit, checking the weather that said feels like 112. I was thinking “of course it doesn’t!” Then I got off the plane, out of the airport and started to CACKLE because it felt like at least 112. I’m from the valley in CA and it regularly gets to 100/105/110 and dang, TN was something else. I kept thinking I was pregnant 🤣

Yes, you can stencil on the concrete, but I don’t know how your concrete is, maybe a primer will be necessary, and certainly a preferably glossy or at least satin sealer. It won’t remain super glossy with time but the glossier, the sturdier it is. Which means: no chicken running on it, no dogs fighting around while it’s drying, chiefly no children walking on it while again, it’s drying. Also if you want to be able to clean it or even power wash it, the sealer is mandatory if you want your motifs to stay put and vivid. It is not difficult to do, it just requires a little time because your concrete seems large enough. Stenciling can feel repetitive, but it’s worth the effort. Also plan to have several stencils of the same motif, so one can dry while you are using the other one, or if one breaks, at least you have the other one. I would use some acrylic paint because it is cleaner and healthier than spray paints. Oil paint is a big no no because it takes too long to dry. To paint faster you can use paint rollers but your paint must not be too liquid or too much on the roller, and if you could find a glue spray which allows you to stick and remove your stencil several times, that would make the task much easier.
I used to be an arts and crafts teacher and I was an artist in home decor, hence my never ending explanation 😊

Maybe Playground rubber mulch for around the concrete? Try it on a heavy traffic side and see if it works before putting it everywhere.

Hi I am new to your channel. Love your garden makeovers you certainly have a good eye for these things.i did a stencil on my patio blue and white took 3 weeks I sealed it many times during the process, and it looked great but we had a very hard frosted and all the paint peeled off looks a mess now! So I have put rugs down I think we will tile next . Loved the unique look of the stencils but it didn't last. I am in the UK so our weather conditions probably different to yours. Very humid here this summer ! X

I’ve done the stenciling on my concrete driveway (brick pattern) because I loved the way it looked on my relative’s driveway down south. Well, up north with the snow and ice it really didn’t hold up, plus it was more slippery. Personally, stick with the rugs.
