What a great collection of skateboards. I am a 59-year-old skateboard lover, I live in Mexico City and one of my first skateboards was made of fiberglass. The second one my father made for me was Logan Oak wood. The best gift my father ever gave me. the other skateboards were Alva a signature and 3 signatures. my daughter gave me one 4 years ago and this year Tony Alva came to the city of Mexico and just signed it for me. I'm very happy about that.
RICK. Of course it will be a pleasure to visit you and see your great collection of skateboards. Today start the week with great childhood memories. It is a pleasure to know that people like you keep a great legacy for all of us skaters. Your museum has incredible pieces. In each of them there is a great story behind each object. congratulations receive a great greeting from Mexico City YOU COULD SEND THE ADDRESS OF THE MUSEUM.
Todd had a really interesting point about the difference in collecting something that has a limited set vs an unlimited set. The surprise he feels every time he discovers a different board is so much of the pleasure. And then he gets to show it to the world.
I was just there! Took my lil bro and skated for a few hours. $15 to skate all day and they have some cool things to skate. I wanted to stay longer it my lil bro was tired and hungry. Bought my brother some stickers and Todd hooked him up with extra stickers after I bought 3 for $5. Great experience and awesome place!
Dayum this is prolly the dude who bought my jaws and customs when I moved from tx. Trip that he's in Simi. Other side of the hill from dude, we skated Knapp, pierce and castle peak in the early 80s. I was hoping to see that Pepsi jersey. We saw the Pepsi demo up in Topanga late 70s. . . And the mobile see through fiberglass traveling bowl. Dayum, lotsa memories. I still want one of those 8wheel toft set ups. Or at least try and ride one. Lol
I hope you do get picked up as a TV show or Netflix etcetera. Ever since Vice stopped KOTR and all the other skate shows, it went downhill. One network could have all those ETN episodes and old 411's. It could play all the skate videos and have up to date pro spotlights. Could be so cool. Probably someday it'll manifest. Rick Kosick Director of Programming!
It's interesting: he complains about the exact same thing I used to complain when I collected old video games. It's all basically a really toxic reseller shit-show. Interestingly enough: the movie collecting scene isn't even a tenth that greedy. Basically everything is available for a very small amount of money.
