  • I've been fielding a lot of questions about my Eurorack patches, gear and techniques over the last 6 months or so, and today I finally got round to doing a patch from scratch video that will hopefully answer a lot of queries, and inspire you wigglers to try out some new ideas 😊
I've tried to keep this video accessible by using modules that a lot of people with have in their system, a couple of VCOs, a noise generator, a mixer and a wavefolder are the key ingredients, full list of what i used is below.
You can check out my latest release 'Building the Forest' via bandcamp here:
    anthurium.bandcamp.com/album/...
    Modules used:
    Instruo CS-L
    Verbos Noise & Filter
    Doepfer Stereo Mixer A138s
    Joranalogue Fold
    Happy Nerding VCAx3
    Monsoon (clouds)
    WMD Fracture
    SSF Vortices
    Konstant Labs BaxandallEQ
    Bizarre Jezabel Mimosa
    Doepfer Clock Divider A160-2
    Beface Rampage

Hey everyone, thanks for all the amazing feedback 🙂 A few people seem to struggling to get a similar result when trying the LFO and noise mixing trick. I forgot to mention in the video, you'll get different results with different mixers, it really depends on how much headroom the mixer has and whether the mixer amplifies signals or not. I've demonstrated it here with the fairly inexpensive Doepfer A-138s and it works great. I can also confirm it works well with Serpens Hydrus, NLC Clump, SSF Vortices, Bear Modules Matrix Mixer, Doepfer 138-M Matrix Mixer.
You could also try putting a static DC voltage to the mixer to push the summed signal off the 0 volt axis and smack it into the edge of the mixer's headroom.
Even if you can't get the same result directly from your mixer, mixing noise with an LFO is still a useful technique for crunchy sounds. Wavefolding, amplifying and compressing the output should result in something fun. Experiment!

This chanel is the sheeet :)
I was wondering and apreciate immensely if you had time to answer a noob :
a friend of me Borrowed two synths from me and his car got stolen.
Now he asks me to accept some eurorack modules in return, but i have NADA knowhow and info on eurorack.
So : does these modules work together
      : Intellijell PLONK / ATLANTIS/RAINMAKER/SHAPESHIFTER
      erica DRUM SEQUENCER/FUSION/PICO SYSTEM 3/
If they dont, would it help to buy either of these systems to make it work?
      doepfer a 100 system
      Erica black system 2
I really hope you or someone with some knowledge would take time out.
      Keep up the good work.
      J

If I remember correctly the manual of vortices explicitly talks about effects of adding DC to your audiosignal for different styles of saturation. But using dynamic DC is a great idea!

Interesting methods, thank you and sounds dope. Ps. Thank you for introducing fracture, i need to look more into it as i love clap over snare and good claps been diffcult to find. When i started in eurorack. i didnt have sequencer and after i got one i feel like my patches got more dull and less personality. As without had to find ways to build the construct and it gave more surprises of sort. So been thinking to learn to just use different kind of envelope/function generators and clock dividers ect.. to build sequences

Amazing patch, I’m trying to something similar, but I’m struggling with few things, so far I can get a nice squashed sounds with white noise (verbos) and the osc from the graphic vco, for the lfo I’m using the vector lfo(ornament and crime) but when I duplicate the signal from the mixer and send it to my dopefer a136 waveshaper doesent work as it does on your patch, also since the lfo I’m using doesn’t have wave fold and depth like yours I don’t get that nice cycle you get, last thing last also my new Pamela’s workout doesent get triggered by the lfo.
