I was the 3rd one in the bathtub after my 2 older sisters took their baths. IN THE SAME WATER! I got to get into the lukewarm dirty water. We were not real poor, just very thrifty. Our heater was a big blower in the dining room. Us kids slept upstairs and the heat we had was what drifted upstairs through floor registers. My windows in the winter were frosted over in the morning, so I went downstairs when I got up and sat right in front of the blower in my underwear. In the summer I slept on my bed upstairs right in front of the window which was open. In the summer I woke up to the birds up in the trees right outside my window. Robins and redbirds tweeting a lot of various songs. We always played outside all summer or was at the pool. This was in Kinsley, KS. It was back in the 60s when the Arkansas River still had water. Now it is all dried up.
Exactly what I thought this morning when I walked outside- I was in 2nd grade that day and still remember what it felt like in the air during recess. Im in Tennessee now bt my family is still in warren and butler counties and im kinda worried ab them.
