    I cannot tell you how happy I was to come across this video in my search for information about color correcting flowers for resin. It's like folks are mum on it. Thank you so much Marina! You are a gift and a blessing. I'm forever grateful all the way from Nassau, Bahamas.

      I did take the course Marina and I have to say it was incredible! You are so good at conveying exactly what we need to know. I will take the other one with the ring holder soon! Thanks so much for sharing your expertise.

      I agree! Thank you so much for sharing!! The paint doesn’t bleed into the resin when you cast it? What kind of paint do you use for color correction? Thank you so much in advance!!

    Wow, I dry a lot of flowers and I was wondering how yours looked like they weren’t even dried. I will have to definitely try this now that you gave me the secret. 😁thanks so much, I love all your work.

    Thanks for sharing Marina! I want to make my own bouquet of forever roses. I know after silica gel the roses look not as bright so per google you have to dye them so now I can try it :) ❤

    If you just put foil over it then it won't dry out and gives you some time between layers ❤

    Thank you for sharing your beautiful work. Question - can you use an alcohol basked ink? Or is there reason to not? I’m hesitant to add more moisture in the form of water based paint to a flower….

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hmm, that's a great question. I would imagine that the ink may not have as much coverage as paint does, but if you ever try it, you'll have to tell us how it goes!

    Does it matter the kind of spray paint so that it does not bleed into the resin? I use Design Master Floral paints to airbrush with when I color correct. What type of spray paint are you using?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This is just regular paint + primer spray paint from Home Depot. I would stay away from anything oil/latex based but other than that, regular spray paint works just fine. I find that inks can sometimes bleed into resin but paint tends to stay on pretty nicely. Also, 1:1 casting resins tend to do better when it comes to bleeding (1:2 and 1:3 casting resins can cause more bleeding).

    OMG: i've been googling, searching, asking people , joined groups etc, have gotten some answer re color correction esp orchids but have not really seen anyone do it on video until YOU came along.... i so much appreciate this Marina,. I should've gone to the airbrush method, but didnt have an airbrush so what I thought (to save moneY), actually costs me more money. I'll invest on an airbrush . Cant wait to see once its casted in resin. Did it bleed? do you have to seal it with an acrylic spray after silica gel?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for saying all that! I get this question so much, I figured it would be a win-win if I did a quick video and just posted it online for free. I'm glad it helped you! The paint won't bleed as long as it's completely dry, just give it a few days to fully dry out before casting.

    Can I ask! Won’t the water in the airbrush rehydrate the flowers? How do you redry them to make them fit for putting in resin?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I place them in my container that has silica in it. I don’t bury it in silica again, but just keep it in the box and it’ll act as a desiccator and kept dehydrate them again 🫶

    Thanks for sharing....the color will not seep in to the resin after its dried ?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As long as the paint is fully dry (give it at least a day to dry off), it won’t bleed into the resin 🫶

    Do you dry them in silica before dying them , then put them in the silica again?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are dried in silica before dying and then just placed in the “dry box” (container with silica) but not buried inside the silica.

    Hey thankyou so much for sharing this ❤️❤️ do you cover your flowers with silica after airbrush ? Or just keep it in box with silica ?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      So happy you enjoyed it ❤️ I just keep it in the box and don’t cover the flowers with silica. The environment in the box is dry because of the silica, so it helps to crisp it back up without burying it again.

    awsome, but do the color spread after putting resin liquid on top of it?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No the color shouldn’t bleed as long as you use a good casting resin (usually 1:1 ratio deep cast)

    Hi, how can i make it store the color and moisture so that it keeps the 3D Shape- but idont want to add any random color or paint i want to keep its natural paint? you reccomend the spray paint(maybe clear)? what would be the best method

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In that case, just dry them in silica for a few weeks

  • @inezwilliamson7412

    Can you dye orchids before drying them in silica gel ?

    • @marinamakesart
      @marinamakesart  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can use flowers that have been dyed and then dry in silica (professional dyed flowers dry very nicely, blue orchids for example). Just make sure the flower is completely dry before putting in silica, because all the crystals will get stuck to it.
