Forever Faithful | Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George

On the eve of this year's Feastday, we are looking back at glimpses of God's fidelity and providence throughout the years. August 2nd also commemorates the 40th anniversary of our American Province St. Elizabeth becoming an official province of our congregation.
We rejoice in the witness of our Sisters' loving response of surrender and freedom as they profess their Final Vows throughout the years!

The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George are a worldwide congregation of consecrated women religious, founded in Germany in 1869. Flowing from "looking upon Him whom we have pierced," (John 19:37), the charism of our community is to "make Christ's Merciful Love visible." Currently, we are in eight countries and our American province includes our provincial motherhouse in Alton, IL and eleven convents throughout the Midwest.
