LAD speedrunners recently discovered that mouse and keyboard is significantly slower because delay is added to the end of fights for no reason whatsoever. Also, 0, K1, and K2 are hilariously broken at unlimited FPS. They always load faster when the frame rate isn't limited. However K2 is even more jank because it is even faster when you use the NVIDIA control panel to make the capped frame rate 120 FPS. The in-game frame limiters don't work in K2 :)
The K&M issue in Yakuza series has been there since 0 btw, I think I've experienced it the worst out of everyone because at some point in 0 my mouse pointer delays so badly in that game ONLY. Like the mouse would just move like 0.5ms each time I tried to move it even if my sensitivity is high.
@@SnowiestAngeman Japanese studios in general don’t have much experience with PC gaming. They primarily develop games for consoles, and considering the amount of living space an average Japanese household has got, it’s not even surprising.
Yeah, I really do not get why everyone dislikes it so much. Yeah for the mini-games, they outright didn't even bother to keep your rebinded controls and holding the camera lock on was about one button to many for my hands, but it was a totally fine experience. I played on keyboard only using U and O for camera movement and I didn't have any big issues.
@L But... like.... mouse controls the camera the same way it does in EVERY PC game ever. The actual action inputs are extremely highly customizable and like 2-3 changes at the start of every game makes them infinitely better and honestly almost downright perfect. Here's my general rebinds - anything else is left on default. Guard: Shift Grab: E Taunt/put away weapon: ` Fighting Stance: Space Bar ~or~ /, depending on if I want to use both hands on keyboard or one on keyboard, one on mouse. Quickstep: Q (or Alt in the games that allow you to rebind things to alt, AND you're using a double keyboard config.) That's the entirety of my general control changes for pretty much every game in the series for combat. Additionally, I change the karaoke/haruka controls to either 1/2/3/4 or q/w/e/r or a/s/d/f. (and the opposite side of the keyboard for the games that have more than 4 karaoke inputs), which is legitimately 100% BETTER controls than you get for said minigame on controller, regardless of your control config for controller. Similar changes with the other rhythm game minigames, like taiko, etc. Additionally, for K2, I swapped the "mash this button" key for the cabaret club to mouse wheel scrolling. This control scheme is pretty in-line with the standards for PC games, mimicking a lot of games like Skyrim, Mount and Blade, CoD, NMS, ARK, etc. etc. in many regards. It's extremely functional and not remotely what I'd call clunky at all.
5:20 Not to mention the second attack of it can be CHARGED UP and fuck me it's useful. Either it does a shit ton of damage or it breaks the enemy's block which can lead up to a whole lot of wacky stuff
@@kuenra By "pedestrians" I mean spectators who watch you fight random punks and yakuza thugs. Granted, they can grab your opponents too, but it doesn't make it any less annoying when they do it to you.
Yakuza mouse and keyboard players, seek help. Reach out to your nearest electronics store and acquire a PS4/5 controller. You could save your own life, and the life of a friend. Great video homie.
Why yes, I did spend 10 hours IRL just to become rank 1 Majong Player in Yakuza 0 and Kiwami even though there are no achievements for doing it. How could you tell?
Another thing that pissed me off was them adding charged attacks in K1, but only if you had some heat. Then they removed that necessity in 6 (which made the gane's combat slightly less than awful), and THEN just castrated them attacks all together in K2
I've seen no one mention it anywhere, but can we talk about how they took out knockdown evasion in LJ while it was in the first game? Yagami is supposed to be super agile but one medium kick leaves you flat on your ass and mashing X to get up while you ragdoll, bringing combat to a total halt.
I really like the commentary, before if I wanted to watch one of your videos I had to actually look at the screen and I'm one of those people that uses YT as background noise a lot
I hate how in Yakuza 6 they added drinks and Kiryu would walk with the drink and you pressed O for him to drink it..only for them to REMOVE it in Kiwami 2 and have it just to into your inventory when purchased :(
You know what I'm upset about? Why does Like a Dragon look so good.. and so bad? From all the footage I've seen of Kiwami 2 and the Judgement games, why do those games look soooo nice and LAD just doesn't stack up to them. OH, and why in Like A Dragon can I buy businesses in a section of the city that I can't even go to. Seriously if they wanted some new flavor with a new location the should have expanded into the city district of Ijincho. I'd love to fight whereever that ferris wheel is, or actually walk up to the Mirai tower. BUT NOPE, HAVE SOME MORE KAMUROCHO AND SOTENBORI
I think the main reason why Like a Dragon has weird graphics was probably because it was their first game made for everything, as opposed to how they usually would only put the games on PlayStation. Could be wrong but that's the only plausible thing I can think as to why the graphics are inconsistent lol
Mouse and Keyboard player here; I have played through the series using this method and now I can say, with full confidence, that I prefer playing it like this- *gets beaten to death*
So, I will agree that most of the games have horrendous DEFAULT KBM controls. However... every single game in the series also allows you to change the KBM controls for literally every single aspect of the game individually. I've been playing through the entire series with KBM exclusively. And I can say right now. They're WAY more functional with a couple minor tweaks than I think almost anyone would actually think, and make SO many aspects of the games easier. Like, for example, swapping the karaoke and/or Haruka controls to 1/2/3/4 or q/w/e/r, which allows you to do the entire controls without moving a single finger anywhere. Or being able to change the "mash this button" controls in stuff like the K2 Cabaret Club minigame to the mouse wheel. (also known as the "it's basically the same as using an autoclicker" input assignment) The controls ~really~ aren't as bad as people think they are. In fact, I honestly feel like most games I'd do significantly worse if I used a controller, because I wouldn't be able to re-assign the controls to a configuration that allows me to ~not move my fingers around at all during anything~.
i still have no idea why people think that keyboard is a sin against humanity in yakuza games the fact that i can just carry over the same buttons i had in 0 through all games and how its so easy to control the game with it i feel like they saw the gamepad thing on game startup and took it too seriously
Don't know if this is a thing or I'm crazy but it seems like any time you play on easy in the yakuza series or judgment the studio would punish you in weird ways
I'm in the same boat man. Yakuza was unique because its an "semi-open world" game that focuses more on hand to hand combat. There is really not much other games that did this other than some rare occasions like Sleeping Dogs. Judgement didn't have a PC release so you can't really said that it replaced Yakuza for us PC players. The switch to JRPG honestly kills my interest in any future Yakuza games.
I think they wanted the turn-based mode...it's because they could never get better at marking an opponent in fights. Yakuza in itself falters in that aspect .... but I still liked the fighting mode. well it's just my idea
What's the problem with keyboard and mouse? I've played every Yakuza with them (except the camera fucking sucks, especially on 0, but aside from that, it's perfectly fine)
It wasn't real. In Yakuza 4 there wasn't, like, an underground shopping mall on Showa street or whatever. And that you can clearly see the entrance of in all the other games. Or a bunch of buildings you can explore the roofs of. That's all a lie, and you're a terrible person to ever think they made those areas. Now go explore the sewers again.
It’s just the meme of “real Yakuza use a game pad” and unless I’m remembering it wrong there’s also stuff like not being able to set sprint and confirm as seperate buttons as they’re both X on a controller usually

The actual action inputs are extremely highly customizable and like 2-3 changes at the start of every game makes them infinitely better and honestly almost downright perfect.
Here's my general rebinds - anything else is left on default.
Guard: Shift
Grab: E
Taunt/put away weapon: `
Fighting Stance: Space Bar ~or~ /, depending on if I want to use both hands on keyboard or one on keyboard, one on mouse.
Quickstep: Q (or Alt in the games that allow you to rebind things to alt, AND you're using a double keyboard config.)
That's the entirety of my general control changes for pretty much every game in the series for combat.
It's extremely functional and not remotely what I'd call clunky at all.
the map thing explains a lot I initially had terrible between the early games and thought it was just cause they were the first ones I played.
5:20 Not to mention the second attack of it can be CHARGED UP and fuck me it's useful. Either it does a shit ton of damage or it breaks the enemy's block which can lead up to a whole lot of wacky stuff
A ‘get off me’ move that is actually a combo starter lol
What about Kurohyou 2 and pedestrians grabbing you after dodging an attack and ending up in a corner? Seriously, fuck this one addition to hell.
wait, what? pedestrians actually pull that shit?? 😭
@@kuenra By "pedestrians" I mean spectators who watch you fight random punks and yakuza thugs. Granted, they can grab your opponents too, but it doesn't make it any less annoying when they do it to you.

I played Yakuza LAD exclusively with KB M until the last act. Major regret set in
LAD being turn based, not as bad as using kbm for the other games though. I'd guess it's the only one where it's not an issue at all
@@justaguynamedryan it wasn't a huge issue but it was waaaaay more comfortable
Yakuza mouse and keyboard players, seek help. Reach out to your nearest electronics store and acquire a PS4/5 controller. You could save your own life, and the life of a friend.
Great video homie.

REAL YAKUZA USE THE WIIMOTE
is a man really that much of a threat to society when he enjoyed beating entire yakuza series on pc via keyboard and mouse?
keyboard and mouse is superior
Playing Yakuza with mouse and keyboard is like wanting to play an exciting walking simulator
wait you can talk?
Nah it's just text to speech
You know, I never even realised the camera thing being different. For some reason it always was natural to me.
how tf you only have 10k subscribers drive me insane
Come on bro 10.4k actually
@@SnowiestAngeman sure ,sure... 10.4k
I really like the commentary, before if I wanted to watch one of your videos I had to actually look at the screen and I'm one of those people that uses YT as background noise a lot
Yeah I'm the same. Glad you liked the video though
Honestly I like keyboard more because I can time counters more often and for karaoke I play 4K rhythm games so it’s way easier
Keyboard and mouse is love, keyboard and mouse is life
well you make some great points here, all's well that ends well i guess...
except for that sydney situation though that just sounds like a you problem
I hate how in Yakuza 6 they added drinks and Kiryu would walk with the drink and you pressed O for him to drink it..only for them to REMOVE it in Kiwami 2 and have it just to into your inventory when purchased :(
1:18 - K&M players simply aren't real Yakuza, detectives, or samurai.
Don't complain to me, I didn't make the rules.
Your voice is so nice (:
Thank you but unfortunately you have typed (: instead of :) and that scares me
You know what I'm upset about?
Yakuza LAD challenge on not having baby textures on 50 years old man
keep on making good content
I will try m8 thnx
Mouse and Keyboard player here; I have played through the series using this method and now I can say, with full confidence, that I prefer playing it like this- *gets beaten to death*
you are criminally underrated bro
Fuckin leave it to SEGA to date all our crushes
I missheard Komaki knockback as
"The monkey knockstack."
That is all.
(also known as the "it's basically the same as using an autoclicker" input assignment)
The controls ~really~ aren't as bad as people think they are. In fact, I honestly feel like most games I'd do significantly worse if I used a controller, because I wouldn't be able to re-assign the controls to a configuration that allows me to ~not move my fingers around at all during anything~.
i still have no idea why people think that keyboard is a sin against humanity in yakuza games
the fact that i can just carry over the same buttons i had in 0 through all games
and how its so easy to control the game with it
i feel like they saw the gamepad thing on game startup and took it too seriously
no i will not seek help and i really enjoyed the video
Since when did you start using a Mic? Kinda cool tho. Potential to cut your voice the same way you do with the Text.
Mouse and keyboards chads schyzo unite!
They patched the mouse sway into YK2, RGG watches your videos confirmed??
Surely you jest, brother
the pharmacy is gone in kamorucho
Oh my god he has a voice
Don't know if this is a thing or I'm crazy but it seems like any time you play on easy in the yakuza series or judgment the studio would punish you in weird ways
The turn based combat ruined it for me. And I've played them all... I just couldn't get into it
I'm in the same boat man.
The first person camera doesn't really bother me. Wait do people pressed hard on joystick?
My man your commentary and your voice are nice. Your a natural at this.
I play with mouse and key board and controller they feel exactly the same to me in enjoyment
What's the problem with keyboard and mouse? I've played every Yakuza with them
(except the camera fucking sucks, especially on 0, but aside from that, it's perfectly fine)
Just a meme because of the "real Yakuza use a gamepad" thing. I actually use keyboard and mouse a lot because they're always plugged in lol
@@SnowiestAngeman Oh.
Mmmmmm voice video,tasty
Thanks brother
I don’t think people talk enough about how they ruined the qte’s in LJ
What‘s different?
Lol true I failed like half of them because of how confused I was when it first happened
@Gün Gün Instead of one button it's multiple buttons and it's basically granted that you will not do it the first time. They go by so fast.
Appreciate the censor for the Judgment boss fight

im gratefull that they ported those games to pc
I use keyboard cause I’m to lazy to hook up controller
That's completely 100% understandable
But...I play on mouse and keyboard...whats wrong with mouse and keyboard on yakuza games?
I played all the yakuza games with keyboard and mouse. I don't understand what's so hard about it. Somebody care to explain?
It’s just the meme of “real Yakuza use a game pad” and unless I’m remembering it wrong there’s also stuff like not being able to set sprint and confirm as seperate buttons as they’re both X on a controller usually
Binary Domain was lit

I use keyboard and mouse for yakuza 7 cs it aint button smasher
