Honestly, great stream idea. Exacting enough to be somewhat long and to engage all the rage viewers. But also simple enough to see real progress over the stream and to finish it in a session. Nice!

Unlike some of these comments it was fun watching someone go in completely blind trying to figure out a skill like throwing knives. Maya is awesome for even trying!

I throw axes in a league and knives recreationally. Best things I could recommend are:
1) Find and mark a distance to throw from consistently
2) Figure out a comfortable but stable stance
3) Pay attention to the angle you hold the knife at as it affects how much rotation is needed to get the knife to hit right.
4) Be consistent with your power. Throwing too hard or too soft makes the spin required different despite the distance not changing.
5) Figure out where you need to hold the handle/blade before throwing to get consistent spin.
6) There are many variables to a throw (as mentioned prior) but once you get things dialed in through trial and error, it becomes muscle memory. Every missed shot holds a clue to why it missed.

I thought Maya's technique was really bad, and then I got bored and skipped ahead to the middle part where Connor was also there. After watching him running at the target and throwing wildly, Maya's technique didn't seem that bad.
Next should be "bungie jumping until i dont scream" or something

Sadly, looks like she won't be doing any kickflip anytime soon.. Majority in her chat has a way of discouraging her and pissing her off, even Ludwig said it
@@steveknows_420 Yea, that's understandable, and unfortunate. She was making great progress, too, and I genuinely felt like she would've pulled it off.
The problem with her approach to doing it live is that it gathered a lot of attention, which everyone tried to help, obviously in real time. Factor that in with people getting frustrated with her approach, and it ends up having people be snarky/hurtful.
I think the better approach with these would be to outright ignore the actual chat, and if people want to provide feedback, do so through any of the TTS method (subbing, resub, bits, etc).
That, or only read the YT comments after posting, since it's not in a live situation, where her own frustration amplifies what people are saying.
There was plenty of valid help they were giving. Like learning the Ollie first, given the Kickflip is based on it.
Or like in this scenario, where they're suggesting to hold it at the blade tip. It might be scary, but it's the easier method. She also ignored what even Connor gave her about distance (but admittedly, even that had a slight math flaw in his part).

@@DUKE_of_RAMBLEI wouldn't be surprised if she didn't want this "variety Wednesdays" to turn into solely skate streams. I wouldn't be surprised if she returns to kickflipping in the future when she wants something big.

I love that Maya tries new things because it is super fun. What ISN'T fun is that she does zero research then gets mad she doesn't know what she is doing then gets mad at chat for giving her suggestions. I personally like to watch people having fun; not being frustrated because of their own lack of foreseeable problems.

- She should watch a 30sec clip on whatever subject, just to get a primer.

I applaud her and support her desire to have no experience before trying a task, but I don't think she should go in _completely_ blind.
