I remember when Google Earth launched. I spent a lot of time just zooming in on random places. Not enough to be good at this, but it was fun to look around at another part of the world without going there, clicking up the street like a virtual tour.

William Buckland was a professor at Oxford that, allegedly, could know exactly where he was by just smelling the rocks and dirt from the ground. AZKi is basically that.

It's incredible how even on the opposite side of the planet, I 100% mistook her initial location as rural America, rather than Japan. The only discrepancy is that it wasn't a dirt road

I wouldn't call that middle of nowhere. Middle of nowhere is if she's dropped on a river path with no indication of wherever you are for miles and miles or the desert. Both places I have been dropped by the game and believe me it was a nightmare.
Are you capable of finding the exact stretch of some random rural road in a backwater region (Tottori isn't one of the better-known parts of Japan even to Japanese people) in your own country?
