Maybe add several OZs of weight to the front to keep it on the ground?? Still learning and playing. I'm thinking 3S gets crazy enough for me. So just blx slipper/pinion + brushless set up and you're good to go?

    Thanks!

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the questions!
      I did NOT do the BLX slipper and pinion. This is all still with the brushed parts.
      I DO fully recommend the Arrma 3S lineup. The Typhon specifically is my favorite. This truck is a little bouncy (which can be tuned) and is a little short. If you are looking for a truck, I would consider the Big Rock.
      3S vs 6S really comes more down to space and exactly what you want to do with it.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although a short course truck like the Senton seems like fun, 2 problems:
      1) the body catches ALL of the dirt/mud/grass...making the inside of the truck a huge mess.
      2) you destroy the body very fast, leading to buying more of them.
      Go monster truck or buggy!
      Instead of getting the mega brushed version, save a little more and get the BLX. It really is worth it in the long run.

    Great video on the Arrma Granite. I have a 2s brushed version and it's real slow on the NiMh stock battery. I don't have any 2s Lipo's that would work with this truck but I do have a 3s Lipo. I just wonder if the 3s would grenade the ESC or motor? I guess if it does I could go with the Hobbywing ESC like you did. Your 3s sure made a big difference. 👍 Nice run ..

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My understanding is the stock motor and ESC will handle 3S - for at least a short term. Yes - it will put more strain and load on the motor, so it will die quicker. However, brushed motors rarely last long in a basher anyway.

    • @RoadsideRC
      @RoadsideRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Check into some of the hobbywing motors. You will be looking at something in that 3200kv+/- range.
      The numbers on the motor describe how big it is.
      As an example, this GoolRC motor was a 3550. 35mm diameter, 50mm long. Honestly, it is a little short for the application. A 3660 or longer gives more torque, which would be better.
      Instead of the SC8, you can also look at the Hobbywing Max10SCT combos. For around $120, they make killer combos!
