Spring is just around the corner, till then we will have lots of fun sunny videos haha we will also have lots of videos during and after spring haha :-)
Hi. Such a great history lesson of St. Pierre. I was in Martinique once on a cruise. Beautiful island. You lucked out with Carnival. I attended Carnival in Aruba once. So much fun. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Nice that your parents could visit Yvette.
Loved this video. Because of your channel I get to see sort of roadside attractions of the sea, and I would probably never hear of these otherwise. Don't get me wrong though, I love the sailing and what goes in to that, even if it inevitably gets repetitive, it's still beautiful and new to us. Even the technical aspects of sailing would be really interesting. Just sharing some thoughts. So far I really enjoy it all. Happy sailing!
Fantastic video, Y, D, and C! I love hearing the histories of the places you visit. Informative while not overtaking content 😊. Your videography is beautiful, as always. I'm so glad your parents were able to spend so much time with you, Yvette, especially on the heels of the attack. I'm hoping, as you move further in distance and time, that you're both feeling okay. Hugs and love, Lauren 😊😊😊
I've only just started seeing your stuff on TH-cam. I was immediately drawn by the Aussie accent in the America's. I love how much you both share with the repairs and coconut and everything. I love that you seem to smile. Not fakely you both beam. I felt so sorry for you over the pirate incident. I think you blamed yourselves too much. The rest of that episode your smiles had gone. I felt for you both. I have seen other sailing adventure shows they each have their good parts. You guys are doing what I would have loved to have done. I look forward to many more shows. Thanks
Thanks for this super interesting video, loved the St Pierre visit. Is the volcano still active? Good to see you both back in form, life goes on thankfully. Coconut is such a gorgeous and fluffy cat now, you'd never think she was the same little scrawny thing that barely survived on the island! I wonder if she remembers her past life...😊
The history was so interesting, thank you for sharing and allowing us to come along on your adventures! Thank you also for all the footage of coconut this episode ❤ can't get enough 😊 she looks so healthy and happy, major props to you guys, keep doing great 🌟
Your travels are beautiful! You showed so much grace on the attackers in the other video. Glad you are safe. Any plans to be in Puerto Rico, westside of Island? We will be visiting soon and would love to say hello 😅
We are so glad you are enjoying the videos! We are heading up that way in about a month or 2, not 100% sure when we will be there. but we are in real time so if you see a pink boat thats us haha
Ik wil deze episode een documentaire noemen. Het geeft een mooi beeld van Martinique. Echt mooi gemaakt. Vraagje wat voor kaas was het bij de lunch?🧀😋🇾🇪Niks lekker dan jong belegen.
Ah...la Martinique ❤ The last time the volcano erupted was actually in 1932, since then it stopped and is asleep,it was an active volcano but it did take the little town called le petit paris de la Martinique (little paris of the Martinique)by surprise. 2 people on land survived and the story of the prisoner is real, but few also survived on boats which was a miracle since they were close mainland, few other cities were hit too..many flew to Port de prince....it took years before people came back to saint pierre because of the volcano constant eruption, in 1905 exactly and since then it erupted but didn't do major damages like 02. It was mostly a colony which means most of people were European...the french abolished slavery way before others but it wasn't like the black Africans could buy and live among the white anyway, they were not slaves but workers, they were paid but weren't allowed to live next whites. The ruins were mostly colony ruins, people use to call it little paris for it café,streets and shops, the french loved life, so beautiful buildings, flowers and parks is typical, la Martinique lost a lot of tourists influx for sometime...its a beautiful place, il fait bon de vivre en Martinique, if you ever consider retiring somewhere, it's the best of modern accommodation with a flair of tropical vibe, chill, good food, not always hot and sunny, rainy but such a nice place to relax
Wow super cool. Thanks for all of the history, they don't have any information on the other times the volcano went off. We are going to stay here for a week or two so we will have a better look around :-)
Great episode guys. Very informative and no annoying music of the top of everything. If you could cut out the So's so so so. That would be appreciated. 👍cheers.
L8ve watching you guys, but not only mention where you're located, but could you put up a quick map. I couldn't understand the name of where you went after your parents left. Thank you!
There was a much more recent explosion and the people living there were quite afraid. Some evacuated. The recent explosion covered everything with ash but it wasn't as hot of ash as the first explosion. It was still fairly nasty ! The fortifications and amount of building and concrete was amazing ! There was one boat full of people, sailors, about 5 or 6, who sailed directly into the "Exclusion Zone" and was arrested ! They had very old maps and that was their only excuse. The government tried to fine them almost $1000 dollars , I'm not sure they ended up getting the money !
Thats super cool, They don't have any information on anything after 1902, at least not that we saw. We can see some other exclusion zones on the charts and we stay away from there :-)
@@sailing.supernova I'm sorry I got a little confused. It was St Vincent ! It was very much like Martinique but less violent. story Wikipedia "La Soufrière, a stratovolcano on the Caribbean island of Saint Vincent in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, began an effusive eruption on 27 December 2020. On 9 April 2021 there was an explosive eruption, and the volcano "continued to erupt explosively" over the following days, with pyroclastic flows.[4] The activity pattern of the eruption was comparable to that of the event that occurred in 1902, which had a Volcanic Explosivity Index (VEI) of 4.[5][1] The volcano is known to have erupted 23 times in the last 4,000 years, and had been dormant since 1979.[1] Evacuation of the inhabitants of the island began when the explosive eruptions started. Many countries, including islands in the region, and organisations provided relief and support. Services such as electricity and water were severely affected. Emitted ash and sulfur dioxide gas affected the population. The COVID-19 pandemic made evacuation more difficult, requiring usual COVID-19 precautions to avoid outbreaks
@@sailing.supernova Well, I thought I had posted my correction. It was in St Vincent. Something like 2020 ? It had most of the population evacuating although the article on it said Covid made it very hard to do that !

I love you and Coconut. But no disrespect… I have been following TH-cam sailing channels since 2007 when there were three channels. I have heard the story of the prisoner who survived so many times LOL.
