We have a video on barking that can get you started, but this behavior usually requires a professional to manage. Look for a positive reinforcement or fear free trainer in your area. th-cam.com/video/VcC8SMi0Y94/w-d-xo.html
Yes I have a digger and blanket fluffer. My pup 3 month old Tommi likes to dig outside, fluff her bed and blankets before going to bed. Sometimes she pulls a throw blanket off the back of the sofa fluffs it and takes a nap. I usually catch her before she falls asleep, slowly and quietly as possible move her to her living room bed, or take her to her pen den for naps. All the other dogs in the house have been trained to use their bed or crate for naps, unless we are all coming in from a long walk or play time at the park, we can crash in the living room together. My 6 year old, fluffs his living room bed, his den bed, and my bed, before he lays down. It's cute seeing a 12 lb pup fluff a queen bed before he lays down. The middle one 4 year old, will dog freak out a little, then stop. I take him slowly back to where he was digging acting curious to see what he found, and say "what is it" in a curious fun voice, as I can see that he's afraid, he won't come back over. I go and get his living room blanket, with me on all fours paw at it. He comes over all curious and he starts to paw at I, I say yes good job, and he runs around all happy, returns touches it jumps up lets out a little excited yip, runs to me and rubs his head all over me. I give him big hug and kiss on the forehead. I do like the idea of creating a ball pit for them... that way they all can hopefully dig together in safe place. I know they love run through the kiddy pool getting all wet when it was hot over the last two weeks that was fun. trying to dry them off before they come back inside... get one dried, work on the next the first runs back into the water. It was a fun time for sure. On a separate note... when is a good time to introduce your dog to the rest of the house. right now the puppy is only allowed on the first floor, she's comfortable, excited, and happy. When she need to go potty she runs to through the open gates and goes outside to go potty, then runs back in to keep playing or take a nap. She's able to hold her potty overnight, and for five hours. She's also learned when we all go for walks in the morning, mid-day, afternoon, evening, and night, that it is time to sniff and go potty outside. Upstairs hasn't been puppy proofed well maybe only the office hasn't the master bedroom has as this is the den were we all sleep. I do want her to start joining us in room together, either in a crate or on her own bed like boys do. Shoud I use the same technique with the house lead on her like I did for the living room? TIA
We love that expression "blanket fluffer". It's very accurate! Sounds like you've got some lovely pups and a great relationship. As for more freedom, this video can give you some tips on how to do some training sessions to prevent accidents, and know how and when to offer more space. th-cam.com/video/ZJuONzUk-FM/w-d-xo.html
After almost turning my ankle in a small hole I'm going to try to use a corner of my small yard where nothing grows because it's so shady. He's a lab so he might hump a blanket but not "dig" with it. : ) I am going to check out the dig toy too.
My 1 year old blue heeler is obsessed with rocks, so she digs holes everywhere trying to find them. Once she finds a good rock she yips and barks at it and rolls it around. I don't know if this comes from her herding instinct but it's becoming a real problem. She's already broken several sprinkler lines
Im going to have to try option 1! Though how do you get the puppy to keep it to digging and not also eating all the grass/dirt? Maybe that will come with the designated dig pit 🤔
Some of mine dig contraband tunnels and then there isn't enough soil to cover it back🤣🤣 others don't dig at all. I think these are way too many excuses for their behavior. I discovered the poop trick by mistake and it works wonderfully. Their own poop around the perimeter and they can dig the rest of their pens out. It doesn't bother me. Except for one who is a gardener, he digs only trees out and that is a no no.
Thanks for watching! 🐶 Do you have a digger? If you need some advice, just put your question in the comments! 👇

Great plan!

Hopefully you got some good tips in that video. Providing her a dog-safe place to dig and busy her rocks is best!

Yes that's the benefit of the dig pit, you can remove things that you don't want your pup to eat.

Thank you as always! My dog digs in the couch. That is getting expensive.
Thanks for watching!
I covered my leather couch with some stretchy cushion covers from amazon. I got brown but they had many colors. Saved it from scratches from digging.
Mine too, I have rugs all over the back and seat and even arms of my couch to prevent tears, my dog likes to naw at the threads of my couch😮
Our puppy digs in various spots in the lawn then chews the grass and dirt. Yuck. How do I stop this? I already trying to distract him with his toy.
This video contains some great tips! Let us know if you have any questions after watching it.

If it’s a neighbors dog is it ok to lay out some laxative filled meat 😂
