I am 45 and for some reason it seems the older I get the harder it is to find out about new music. When I was a teenager all we had were magazines and I always seemed to know about the latest and greatest band out there. Now with all the technology at my disposal to find out anything I want it seems harder than ever. Glad I found this band though. Takes me back to my early 20's. Really good stuff.
+Chris J Occasionally I find something on youtube that has only a few hundred views but is a great song! If it doesn't find its way into the suggested video side bar then it stays buried I guess :/
+Chris J im 47 and ive never been so into music which is saying something...ive been to over ten shows this year and plan on more next year...im going to see bully in two weeks. GET SPOTIFY. thats how i discovered all these cool bands.. check out Wolf alice, speedy ortiz, Charly bliss on youtube, swearin' to start.
I don't think this works at all without the past 20 years of derivative pop music to contrast it with. And frankly it's SO MUCH better when it's just the band live without all the background sweetener. Reminiscent of grunge and later punk but truly something all its own. In twenty years someone will be wearing a Bully shirt and we'll be remembering 2019.
Having had this song on my regular rotation for years, I just assumed it was mid-90's. After reading your comment I just now looked at the date. Holy cow.
Never heard of this band till last night in manchester where they were supporting FIDLAR, they were amazing live, as were FIDLAR. im going to listen to more of bully!
+paddy 321 i saw Bully and Metz......i met Alicia and chatted with her so i didnt care too much about metz.....i left after talking to her and left the show...i was on cloud nine for about a month.
Oh wow, my teacher appreciated my rocker look when I decided to wear a band tee with flannel and sneakers. It's just funny since he called it a Pearl Jam look when I was clearly wearing an MCR shirt 😂
Yo, LOVE mcr. Someone recommended this band to me as well. No idea how this chick does it. I have a female voice. I had a show last night and now my voice feels like sh*t. I have just been listening to mcr all day as a result. Lol.
I discovered this band a short time ago and I gotta say they're really restoring my faith in music. it's been a long time since a newer band has come around that I really like. this sound has been missing for much too long. A rock band that actually has gritty vocals guitar riffs, no artificial drum sound no banjo strumming with the word "HEY!" shouted every 5 measures just a genuine rock sound. hope these guys make it far.
I need this music repeated more and more...this Covid-19 year. Give me that passion that we're askin'! I can't even think of a better band seriously. Only Animated Scarecrows could compete.
+bobby Same! Great lyrics, great voice, great composition...love it all! I usually don't like "yelly" bands, but this album is brilliant. This song especially is one that everyone who has ever struggled with anything can relate to!
I was listening to it on Spotify for the first time and I just had to come to TH-cam afterwards to see what other people say cause not only is this a catchy song but it also touches me in a way I can’t explain
Wow that's literally what I've been doing for the past two years listening to this type of music just cause I like seeing people's interests towards said song if they like it as much as I do
I was digging this band for a while before I read up on them...I thought, “Alicia Bognanno.....why does that sound so familiar???” Kept reading, realized we went to the same college at the same time, and suddenly I had a flashback...she lived in the same rental house as me, before I did. Occasionally we would get mail (mostly junk mail) with her name on it, once she even stopped by to pick it up. So I met her! Kinda...
Shamefully I only heard song maybe 6 years ago on Guitar Hero but it really stuck with me and after all that time it suddenly came into my head. Glad to see there is so much love for this song!
Toni Spencer Well it depends on whether one is referring to the band as an entity or as a collection of individuals. It can go both ways and really just depends on the context or the speaker;s intention. Personally I would use the singular in this case as the band, as a singular object, is great.
Andrew Jowett +Toni Spencer nope. not right .. This band 'is' great. It would never be 'are'. The 'band as an entity' IS what a 'collection of individuals' is... a band is one unit comprised of multiple people, but it is still just one unit. Also - 'Bands take the plural noun in standard British English because the band ARE made up of more than one person.' .... this is also incorrect. >>>> 'The band IS made up of ...' is correct since the word 'band' is a singular collection of people. What would be correct is 'Bands ARE made up of...' because now 'bands' is plural. or... : If you change the subject of the sentence to make the individuals the comprise the band to be the subject: "The members of the band ARE all aliens." This is correct because the plural verb matches up with the plural 'members' of the (singular but no longer the subject that affects the state of the verb 'IS / ARE' ) BAND. Ah .. there, that's better eh? Take it as constructive. And yes I know I type shorthand and probably have errors. Just trying to spread some grammar skills - my good deed for today. Ha! Cheers.
+Benjin Swharr You all knew what the guy meant, that's just as important- if not more important- as following grammatical rules. Language is so intricate and nuanced, it doesn't have to be perfect to communicate a feeling or thought. That's what it's for.
I'm just hearing for 1st time all most 6 months into Covid19... Finally a kick ads Rock n Roll with amazing vocal voice !! A blend of everything good !!! Thank You Bully ! I will share...share..share. Makes perfect Art... LISTEN HUMANS. & Share The WORD👍💞👁
It makes sense that everybody keeps saying it sounds like the 90s and they are excited about it because the 90s was the last time we had a decent amount of GenuiNeLy Great rock music so naturally we would have to go back and pick up where they left off. We basically have a 20 year gap where the VasT majority (not all) music just sucks major ass and True ROcK music basically disappeared. But it ALWAyS comes back, baby, it fuckin ALWAYS comes back!! Lets treat it right this time people....keep it out of the hands of the greedy big business corporations and do NOt let the average suburbians co-opt it this time!! I havent been this excited about music in many years...i had given up and died inside but it is SOoo obvious that I am FaR from the only person who still wants to hear REaL ROcK music....yay for you AnD Me!!
I saw a video of 'Alicia from Bully" in one of Paramore's videos promoting their upcoming show featuring these bands. I'm glad I found this band. So different than the songs these days.
i remember that thing they were riding in the video. they had it at my town carnival, back in elementary school like 06. you really couldnt get off the walls. i dont even think they have a carnival anymore
The band is so 90's alternative you have no idea. I love her growl. It's so rad!
Jasril Nazmi Absolutely. Reminds me of the days of Kim Deal, Tanya Donelly, Courtney Love, Liz Phair...good times.
+Eric M And Kim Shattuck.
+Jasril Nazmi The last time I saw them they played a Butthole Surfers song for their encore.
+sparkymoo yes..def. kim rasp....i am so in love right now...she is gorgeous.
+Jasril Nazmi susanna hoffs of the bangles meets kurt cobain of nirvana.on alicia bognanno's vocals.loved her voice.

Occasionally I find something on youtube that has only a few hundred views but is a great song! If it doesn't find its way into the suggested video side bar then it stays buried I guess :/

+Steven Garza Hell yeah! Just look at Alabama Shakes!
Sleater Kinney especially.
If this came out in '94, it'd be an absolute classic.
I don't think this works at all without the past 20 years of derivative pop music to contrast it with. in the 90s the classics werent the classics until years later so maybe this song will be
nusti green Already is...
True. A lot of retro style bands playing this kind of music.
her voice is just..wow
This feels so 90's and it's making me so happy right now!
Brought me back to mid 90's. Love her growl.
Because of her voice,, I always picture "Tommy Pickles" singing the chorus.
Bully is what we need, been waiting for something like this grungy sound!
Saw her in concert and she is honestly just as great, and a pretty cool person too. My friends ran into her and said she was hella nice
Never heard of this band till last night in manchester where they were supporting FIDLAR, they were amazing live, as were FIDLAR. im going to listen to more of bully!
I'm envious of you for having been at a show that featured bully *and* FIDLAR.
+paddy 321 YO YO SAME

Shoutout to my English teacher for recommending this song to me after seeing me in an MCR shirt. Thanks mr Lamborn.
Oh wow, my teacher appreciated my rocker look when I decided to wear a band tee with flannel and sneakers. It's just funny since he called it a Pearl Jam look when I was clearly wearing an MCR shirt 😂
+Dioselin :) he was probably talking about the flannel
Dior That's a nice story, i like that😂
You have some awesome teachers
Yo, LOVE mcr. Someone recommended this band to me as well. No idea how this chick does it. I have a female voice. I had a show last night and now my voice feels like sh*t. I have just been listening to mcr all day as a result. Lol.
That "praying for my period" line grabbed me by the guts.
OMG THIS IS CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED
It's structured so generically yet hits home harder than anything I've heard in recent memory.
For some reason, it makes me think of a mix of Blondie and Joanne Jet.
グランジなのかこれ! やっぱ最高だな、グランジって
So damn 90s. Love this band.
Definitely brings me back to my college days 91-93. So much good music, this is refreshing!
I discovered this band a short time ago and I gotta say they're really restoring my faith in music. it's been a long time since a newer band has come around that I really like. this sound has been missing for much too long. Wow I fucking love this band. Just discovered them. So happy
Been listening since this came out, so many good memories. 😢❤
Talk about making your moment count. This song is technically perfect. Bravo bully. Bravo.
Michael thanks you.
I listened to a preview of this song and immediately bought it! This song is crazy good. 💙
These guys opened for the descendents last night and kicked ass.
I was there!! In Portland right?
Yep, it was a great show
I need this music repeated more and more...this Covid-19 year. Give me that passion that we're askin'! I can't even think of a better band seriously. Only Animated Scarecrows could compete.
omg I hope this band blows up!.. not literally though
+bobby Same! Great lyrics, great voice, great composition...love it all! I usually don't like "yelly" bands, but this album is brilliant. This song especially is one that everyone who has ever struggled with anything can relate to!
Yup, I just instantly love any band that has a 90s sound to it
+bobby They totally have that 90s sound!
+bobby probably laughed harder than I should've at the not literally part

LOVE HER VOICE. LOVE THE LYRICS. THIS IS REALLY GOOD!!!
i've just discovered this band because of an article about them in Alternative Press and oh my god you guys are amazing!
I was listening to it on Spotify for the first time and I just had to come to TH-cam afterwards to see what other people say cause not only is this a catchy song but it also touches me in a way I can’t explain
Wow that's literally what I've been doing for the past two years listening to this type of music just cause I like seeing people's interests towards said song if they like it as much as I do
I swear I've viewed this 1000 times. So sad I missed Summerfest but I'm so going in Sept to see her I hope!!

This would’ve been considered the greatest in 1991
I could see these guys getting *really* big. Already subbed.
They brought me back in 90s
Watched them play in Nottingham - AMAZING!!!
Her voice just has that certain thing! I fucking love it!
Shamefully I only heard song maybe 6 years ago on Guitar Hero but it really stuck with me and after all that time it suddenly came into my head. Glad to see there is so much love for this song!
Just discovered this band; love the album!
Love you soo much. Heard this song at exactly the right time in my life. Thank you
Her voice is phenominal
What a brilliant punk band! That's what we need in this decade!
Wonderful. Gonna have to check out their other stuff
This band are great
***** Is.
W H A T EVER, fuck you.
Peacock Affect No, you are correct. Bands take the plural noun in standard British English because the band are made up of more than one person.
Toni Spencer Well it depends on whether one is referring to the band as an entity or as a collection of individuals. It can go both ways and really just depends on the context or the speaker;s intention. Personally I would use the singular in this case as the band, as a singular object, is great.

saw them perform in person on conan, they were great!
You saw them IN PERSON, on CONAN. You saw Bully and Conan O'Brien in the same place at the same time. Do you understand how lucky you are?
This has some 1990's vibe in it.
It makes sense that everybody keeps saying it sounds like the 90s and they are excited about it because the 90s was the last time we had a decent amount of GenuiNeLy Great rock music so naturally we would have to go back and pick up where they left off. GODDAMN that is a solid hook
This is a perfect song.
Holy fuck. This is incredible.
I saw a video of 'Alicia from Bully" in one of Paramore's videos promoting their upcoming show featuring these bands. I'm glad I found this band. So different than the songs these days.
If it existed at the time, there's no doubt in my mind this would've found it's way onto the Clerks soundtrack.
I really hope this band gets somewhere before they stop making music
They are totally playing at the amusement park I used to work at, I used to operate all these rides. It's exciting for me.
Yay - bringing back the riotttt girrrrl era!!! It's about freakin' time!
I'm 27 years old but can't help but have a grade school crush on this girl.
Brought the house down with this in Manchester yesterday
Good song and really good video.

The chorus sounds like Tommy Pickles from Rugrats and I can't stop laughing.

Super 90’s Grunge vibe!!! Epic!!!

Say Anything brought me here.
So good.
One of the best screaming voices I've heard since Kurt :)
Love the song....anyone else thinks she sounds like Tommy Pickless?
YESS!! I searched the comments to see if anyone else thought of rugrats! She totally sounds like EG Daily when she sings.
Best song they’ve ever done 👏👏👏🤗🎸⚡️👍🏼🤘🏼😎
Pray for my period all week
never sounded better in song form.
Grunge is not dead!! F*Yea! :P
It's criminal that this band only has 14k subs.
(Well now they have 14k and 1 😊)
Bully is an Americam rock band formed in 2013 in Nashville. "Trying" GOOD SONG!!!😉😃😎😆🤔
No matter what generation you are from the formula will always be a Pixies structure....but this is damn good.
Man I was gonna go see these guys perform at an in store gig and right before I left home I got real sick and couldn't go because I felt like shit
3:24 - "WAL MART!!!!!!!!!!!"
God dammit, I can't stop hearing wall mart now.... Bravo for pointing out this very funny point but at the same time dam you!
Damn you vile woman!
+Art Vandelay I HEARD THIS SAME THING HAHA
Art Vandelay LOL
Her voice reminds me of Good Old No Doubt Gwen Stefani... but she sounds so unique...
Loved this sound... instant favorite!
The Rotor scene bears a striking to Truffaut's '400 Blows'; This band proves that shoegazing is alive and kicking.
This song is the shit.
guys I saw them today and I'm in love holy shit
Got some major Smashing Pumpkins vibes. This is amazing.
Love it
All she needs is a nose ring and black combat boots and we're back in the 90's
Damn. She channels Kurt is all the right ways.
