Wow, this video really highlights how undervalued PSA 9 has become. I've basically become a PSA 9 collector because, I keep seeing rookie HOFers for less than 20. Just recently I've bought Ray Allen Upper deck rookie psa 9 for 17. and AI's sky box z-force PSA 9 rookie for 15. There are some really good deals on PSA 9's.
I feel like Steve Nash is the Harold Baines of (back-to-back) MVP recipients. One of Shaq’s favorite topics :)…And ‘but injuries caught up with him’ is the sports analog to VH1 Behind The Music’s ‘But offstage things were falling apart’.
Trivia answers - Anfernee Hardaway is not in HOF. Tim Duncan is the only player on that list to not have any other player as a teammate. Wish I could afford the grail Kobe rookies I want. Thanks for sharing.
This video came at teh perfect time for me as Ive been going through what is left of my childhood collection. I don't know what happened to most of my basketball cards but I didn't even realize that Chris Webber Upper Deck was his Rc and I just had it sitting out and had it in a penny sleeve but just put it with my rookie cards. I'm going to start picking up cheap rookies of players I grew up watching from the 80s and 90s instead of buying random modern baseball of guys who haven't done anything yet in terms of being a HOFer. I still had all my Jordan cards and Shaq rookies, Mutumbo , Mourning, Robert Horry, Tim Hardaway, Penny, Webber and guys like that were mostly what I found. Funny enough the most excited I got out of looking through all my old cards that I wasn;t already aware of that were toploaded was a Mookie Blaylock Skybox rookie. I remember getting a box of them for christmas that year and I was down to the last stack of cards I had in a box thinking I wasn't going to find one and BOOM there he was lmao. Card probably isn't worth .25 but his Pearl Jam connection always makes me laugh so I've always like Mookie. Thanks for you videos man. Ive always enjoyed them. My favorite card site for pure info and just interesting things. Please keep making videos!
I was just saying how underrated the 1997 Skybox E-X 2001 set is looking at my Mussina last night. In all sports! Such great looking quality cards. One of my all time favorites.
Chris, I would love to see a video on the biggest 9 to 10 multiplier. Some of these are 10x from 9 to a 10. Would like to see it with fairly common cards, like the 1992 leaf Jeff Kent in a PSA 9 is around $10 but a 10 is around $220, that card is a $1 raw and junk wax. Just crazy multipliers from 9 to 10.
*Cool Story* Saturday I went to pick up items purchaced on FB marketplace. Ended up being the residents of Chris Hoiles... he sold me his abd his dads old baseball card collections...
@collectorinvestordealer i have a 93 stadium club members only set issued to his dad. And several autos.. all sorts of autos within the collection. Lots of Easter eggs. Man I wish I could post pix...
@collectorinvestordealer the collection was in a 2' x 2' x 4' vertical box. Binders. Obviously his dad's old collection was the best stuff. Clemente Banks Aaron. Still going through it. Pitching alot of junk wax. Sticky binder pages.. driving me crazy....
@@collectorinvestordealer very cool collection.. it's like walking through the family baseball card collection history.. some of Chris's senior pictures, in uniform, with auto
SP to 3500 was super limited back in the day…. Spx finite is 2500 and more condition sensitive. I also feel like Flair Showcase to 1500 copies is also under rated (I’m talking Vince, dirk, Paul pierce)…
I was wondering, for raw cards, are the prices considering it is the equivalent of a PSA 10 ? I guess so, most of the time PSA 8 is equal or lower in value then the raw version 🤷🏻♂️
My guess would be Chauncy Billups not in the hall of fame and Allen Iverson which is hard to believe he never played with one of these hall of famers. I might be wrong please let me know.
The PSA grade curve is ridiculous. That "10" is really making the industry suck. As a collector, I'd love any of these iconic rookies at a 9, that could technically be a 10 on a different day, to save the money.
Ok well then buy them in a 9. It’s not making the industry suck, it’s making the industry an industry lol. If there’s no money in 10’s your lovely 9’s are worthless. Why do people want to collect cheap shit? It makes zero sense to me.
@@nickbk4418Nobody is saying the 10 shouldn’t be worth more than the 9’s. People are saying the price difference between the 9 and 10 is ridiculous because it’s subjective. In fact, there are videos that show people cracking a 9 and resubmitting it and getting a 10. If the 10 was 2x the 9, then it would make sense. When the 10 is 5x or 10x the 9 it is ridiculous.
All that in between missing from PSA 10 to PSA 9. No meet me halfway there. Either you come to me to pick up the kids or I come to you. Most of the time it’s you come to me says PSA.
That’s the problem with modern cards of a player like Wembanyana, his values are already baked in. Collecting modern cards for long-term value makes no sense and has created the hobby we have today of flippers.
@@collectorinvestordealer Woof! A big whiff by me. I saw the answers after I sent my guesses. I thought Vince wasn't voted in yet. I always enjoy the decade videos
Imagine paying at times thousands more for a PSA 10 when it has an element of subjectiveness or could be something you need a magnifying glass to see. Give me a Psa 9 and a few grand anyway. Has to be some spectrum involved in being willing to part with money just to say you have a better card.
It’s a purely status thing of high end buyers. That’s why PSA 10’s are so ridiculously high because the average collector like us thinks those prices are ridiculous. PSA 9 prices aren’t ridiculous as their values line up with 99% of the hobby. The problem is the TH-cam community constantly focuses on PSA 10 prices, despite the fact that 99% of their viewers are in the PSA 9 price bracket. If this video didn’t even mention the PSA 10 prices and was the top 15 PSA 9 cards of the 90’s, all of us here could relate because we could afford everyone.
That first Nash card with him making a pass around the back of Big Country Bryant Reeves is top notch: th-cam.com/video/r79Lm2eFgX8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lI5DHtslqlo29-RO&t=421
Steph Curry for the teammate question. Either Steph or Kobe bcse now I've confused myself but those 2 are my FAVS so I absolutely know without a doubt they've never been on the same team.
The PSA 10 multiplier is nothing short of ridiculous
What's ridiculous is the power flippers have given to them
Only ridiculous if someone is willing to pay for it
Miss the 90s.

Well done Chris! Duncan does not get enough love in the hobby in my opinion
Submitted 97 finest Duncan to PSA in June and got a 10. Only sold for $56
Most of the PSA 10's on the condition sensitive cards are old labels. They would never grade a 10 today!!!

2. Allen Iverson was my first guess but he might have played with Billups in Detroit, so I’ll say Webber.
Iverson actually played with Webber

1-Vince Carter (just got voted in)
2-Tim Duncan

I have a chrome Duncan but it is showing a little greening unfortunately.
