For those curious, it can take hours to days to remove adult guinea worms due to the parasite’s fragile nature. If removed too quickly, the worm will break and cause devastating infection. Once broken, the odds of removing the rest of the worm plummet. The body doesn’t take it well.

This video reminded me of the fear I used to have of my hair where I swore it was moving on it’s own and I was scared it was actually worms or snakes just waiting to eat my head. My childhood fears are pretty weird.
The are quite treatable, and most infections are very mild(to avoid alerting the host). However the effective medication is not widely available, nor really affordable in the west, so many people have them without knowing. Its quite common for people with them to eat large meals, and lots of sugary food. If you need the treatment, look at how asian countries(including developed ones-who have those tiny meals) handle this issue with an annual anti parasitic pill. Perhaps best to discuss this with public health officials who tend to overlook the causes of the obesity epidemic (which is rooted partially in parasitic infections, and the widespread availability of food).
Videos like this are nice for information purposes, but they can also have a negative effect of some people feeling they may have symptoms of one or more of these infections.

I thought it was a bot fly egg that caused it. My then primary dismissed the idea, so I was never sure what it was. But that year was problematic for me and cysts/bites from mosquitoes et al. Process of elimination yielded inconclusive results.
For those curious, it can take hours to days to remove adult guinea worms due to the parasite’s fragile nature. If removed too quickly, the worm will break and cause devastating infection. Once broken, the odds of removing the rest of the worm plummet. The body doesn’t take it well.
infographic show in 2 years: "and next up, we have the COVIDworm, which came from the infamous COVID-19 virus"
We are gunna have to make an episode on the bird eating spider, just saying. That’s not something you can just bring up with little to no detail .. 😆😂 I need information infographics ! 😂😂
That’s a nice spider I was going to get one but settled for the black Brazilian tarantula
12:16 plasmodium is a protist not a virus. As a science student such errors really get to me. Other than that great job with the video
I feel all the symptoms now 😭
What a brilliant design! Thanks God, you're the best!
Not gonna lie, those parasite animations were adorable! Might be my own bias though… parasitology is one of my favorite subsets of entomology/nematology. My favorites are the parasitic worms that inhabit the guts of blue whales. Imagine a parasite over ten feet long! Really amazing creatures.
This video reminded me of the fear I used to have of my hair where I swore it was moving on it’s own and I was scared it was actually worms or snakes just waiting to eat my head. My childhood fears are pretty weird.

And now I'm ready to take a bath, cover myself with petroleum jelly, and down every antiparasitic medicine I can find after seeing this!
The most painful parasite is life
Thanks. I felt every symptom.
The banana flavored pin-worm meds will forever haunt me. It was horrible
i wish i was alive 6 minutes ago when i didnt know this existed
The are quite treatable, and most infections are very mild(to avoid alerting the host). However the effective medication is not widely available, nor really affordable in the west, so many people have them without knowing. Its quite common for people with them to eat large meals, and lots of sugary food. If you need the treatment, look at how asian countries(including developed ones-who have those tiny meals) handle this issue with an annual anti parasitic pill. Perhaps best to discuss this with public health officials who tend to overlook the causes of the obesity epidemic (which is rooted partially in parasitic infections, and the widespread availability of food).

Regular parasite cleansing is essential for everyone. They are the cause of many terminal illnesses.
Videos like this are nice for information purposes, but they can also have a negative effect of some people feeling they may have symptoms of one or more of these infections.
+1
I feel like they are all in my body right now.
Oh my goodness me too
Can confirm about bed bugs. I had a bad reaction: itching so intense and long lasting that I had to get on oral steroids to finally get it under control. It’s like the itchiness you feel right after a mosquito bite, but it doesn’t go away. Thankfully got them on the first extermination but it was awful. Glad I documented it and found a lawyer that got me some compensation.

Man you do realise that if meat with tapeworm eggs goes onto vegetables you can still get them
What the heck! You don’t even say how it’s actually contracted. For any of them. This video is terrifying! Wow thanks
