  • Tight line fishing the Edisto is something we've done since the 70's. Using worms, most of the time bluebait on bottom. Catching bream, bluegill, redbreast, catfish, and sometimes the unwanted eel.

    I didn’t know the edisto got this wide? What landing can I use to fish here?

      Springtown private pay landing. Wider at Good hope public landing & Long Creek public landing. Careful though with public landings, truck or car could deal with vandalism.

    I fish the North Fork Edisto river but whenever I bottom fish I get hung up every single time. Maybe you have a trick for it? I am more in the current than you are here in this video

      I fish below where the river forks which is wider in a lot of cases. I don't like still water but also not super fast current. If you have a clear bank with a fallen tree, position above it and cast as close as possible to it without getting hung up in it. Also when getting the bite, reel as fast as you can holding rod tip up trying to keep fish as close to top of water as possible trying to keep him away from root systems. Of course there are certain areas where your just going to have to have lots of hooks on hand.

    Do you mean blue swamp worms? If so do you kno where they can be bought?

    • @ronbennettoutdoorswildlife1514
      @ronbennettoutdoorswildlife1514  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes blue swamp . Hard to find sellers. You can rake leaves back in swamp, push pitch fork into ground & begin to shake 2 or 3 foot area of ground. If any worms there they will come to top of ground in few minutes. May do a video of this in future. Thanks for watching.

      I use to dig um when I was younger. I was a swamp piker. No one does it anymore. I am too old to do it anymore. Not to many of us wading the Colleton swamps anymore. Enjoy your videos....Thanks
