I thought, “no, I’m not gonna give him a hard time about no rotten plank.“ Then you had to go ahead and insert it! Thanks, brother. Awesome build! -Rick, USMC.
With all the rotten planks used in these terrain pieces, you could build a whole rotten plank house. :D Another lovely build! I've seen so many resin pour water effects done in tabletop game crafts recently, that water done with good ol' paints is a nice change of pace.
Thank you! When I get busy around the farm and forge at Ravenstead I sometimes get a little lazy in the studio. This was a great reminder to keep it exciting!
Thank you! Resin is the pinnacle of realism in terrain but it can be so fiddly. There are so many talented builders out there like @Boylei, that I thought showcasing a different skill might be helpful.

I admit it was an afterthought. I got so excited painting the water in this terrain that I almost forgot!
Rotten plank crew reporting in!
The water looks great!
Thank you! There are so many ways to make water effects. Resin would be the best but I like to keep things accessible to crafters on a budget.
@@ravenstead Yeah much more achievable
Another amazing build, with a surprise rotten plank!
The coins also look beautiful
That plank is ready to break! Definitely a dexterity check going across that one. The coins are starting to stack up!

I just made some notes for a rotten plank build. Thanks for the great idea!
Looks good. It can be fun getting out of your comfort zone. Especially when it works out nicely.
So true! There is always the threat if instant regret but we can always just scrape, sand, glue, or paint our mistakes into something better.
@@ravenstead Exactly. You can always cover it up with more paint.
Well done. I love how well the water turned out without having to pour resin.
Thanks! I think I may add a few more coats of gloss mod podge to give it a little more depth.
I love how simple, yet colorful you managed to make this piece! Wonderfully done!
Thank you! I loved the challenge of a new color palate.
Another excellent job. I'm impressed with how the water texture looks.
Thank you! Another two or three coats of mod podge would be helpful in selling the depth.
I think this turned out great. If this is what happens when you stretch yourself, please continue to do so.

Wow, that water is really good, you’ve shown quite well that resin isn’t necessary for making water that looks like water

The water looks wonderful!! I would love to be there today!
Thanks!
this is very diff than before and i like it, good job, well done...
Thank you! I want to be sure to keep pushing boundaries and innovating when I can.
I'm really digging this build. Are you thinking of making this part of a larger piece like you did for the Hidden Valley?
Thank you! It does have the potential for expansion! We should at least see where that creek leads?
@@ravenstead I absolutely agree!
Another great build
Thank you! I appreciate the support!
Well done 👍👍
Thank you so much!
Really beautiful ❤😊❤
Thank you! I wish I could go there and swim!
