      I didn't say throw them out I said clean them yourself and wear them until they fall apart. There is no need to spend 50+ bux on a professional clean. It's not like they are patching them up at all either

    • @pearlescent1557
      @pearlescent1557 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's possible that it's part of a reselling process. Someone thrifts it for maximum 20 dollars, spends 50 dollars (?) on the cleaning process, and sells for 100-120 dollars (well below the retail price) to turn a profit of 30-50 dollars. It's a reasonable endeavor. However, I doubt that is the case based on the wear - most resellers wouldn't go through the effort.

    • @carnivault
      @carnivault 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The company was started in Australia. It’s not appropriating. The brand was called “UGG Australia” up until recently too so it’s no secret they’re Australian

    • @SirPhillyLeong
      @SirPhillyLeong 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@carnivault Not Australian any more, they were bought by an American company. Now this company is banning Australians from using the word "Ugg boot" under trademark laws. They are stealing/ culturally appropriating the term "Ugg Boots". Don't buy their crap.

    • @carnivault
      @carnivault 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SirPhillyLeong the company owns a trademark on the word “UGG” in all caps, but that doesn’t mean nobody can use the word. They have no control over what people say, the trademark just ensures no other company can call themselves “UGG”. The brand was named when they were still Australian owned, so it doesn’t matter that it’s American based now. No Australian citizens are being fined for using the word ugg because it is still a local term for that type of footwear.
      Same as how most people call ice pops “Popsicles”. Technically the brand “Popsicle” owns the rights to the word, even though it’s a widely used term. People are still allowed to use it, but it protects the company’s name and image from other brands.

    • @SirPhillyLeong
      @SirPhillyLeong 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@carnivault Any sheep-skin boots are called Ugg boots by Australians. And they are stopping any Ugg boot maker from referring to their sheep-skin boots as Ugg boots on the international market. Not just in Caps but they are stopping these Australian companies from calling the Ugg boots "Ugg boots'. To your argument, they are stopping companies who are making ice cream from calling it ice cream. So in short them are stealing the Australian term Ugg boots.
