Because serpent have the ability to draw cards more effectively, so when your draw cringes (there is no kindreds to discard or maybe countdown) you can use your luck on pulling an extra 1 car by using serpent's skill. Moreover, serpent has no drawback, using him or not is not really unnecessary, unlike scorps which its ability is needed for him to make more discard cards (serpent has a fixed 6 if im not wrong).
1. serpent has card draw. 2. serpent talent gives dice refund and fixing for switching 3. serpent puts only 6 cards evenly within the deck, scorpion puts 2 in the top 10 constantly. Scorpion actively hurts you trying to get apep cards, when that's the focus, not the consecrated blocks. Especially when wanderer's troupe artifact helps discard anyway. 4. You wouldn't use resonance cards either way..

idk about that stuff but I'm always able to identify his videos through those thumbnails like "hey forte posted hell yeah"
