  • Welcome back to drifting South!
    Longest travel days yet! We took off from the Wild Horse Casino in Pendleton, Oregon at about 6:00am and drove down highway 84 and 95, 418 miles to Winnemucca. We stayed there for Halloween before carrying on to Tonopah which was another 250 miles South.
    Tonopah is a cool little (dying) town filled with history and mystery! Everything cool to see was all within walking distance. We were tucking in the corner of a little parking lot off the highway at another casino. haha There seems to be a theme...
    I hope you've been enjoying the ride so far. We are both so excited to be nearing the border into Mexico, but for now we are, at this very moment, spending a few days near lake Havasu, Arizona. It's amazing to seen on the map that we are only a few hours away from driving all the way through the U.S. from Canada.
    Thanks so much for watching and as always, take care until next time!
    Jenny

    Also, a few miles out of Tonopah is the Millers Rest area. It has free designated RV parking with picnic tables, water and flush toilets in the rest area. A great stopping point.

    Now you realize what a beautiful place, River's Inlet, truly is, compare to driving down, some of these lonely roads. I'm glad that you are getting the opportunity to do some roaming around. Wonderful video, Girl.. Take good care

      Thank you Robin! You’re right about that! After seeing so much desert I am dreaming of the richness of the overgrown trees and mist that forms around them. This is a different kind of beauty though. I am enjoying it all. Thank you so much for your comment!! I appreciate it!

    The landscape on your road trip looked gorgeous! Never heard of Tonopah or knew that it was spooky but that’s cool- we like exploring haunted areas. Never stayed in a haunted hotel though. Thanks for sharing.

      Thanks for watching you guys! I hope you check out Tonopah some day! It was really cool! Currently we are in Arizona and we are both loving the red mountains and finally so many cactus!

    If you ever do this trip again take 395 & 93 from Pendleton to Winnemucca. Then continue south to ely etc. it’s such a cool drive. IMHO.

    I got to thinking about you changing over propane tanks In last video.
    Not sure how you use your 2 tanks. Some systems if you turn on both tanks at same time will run on 1. Then change over automatically and show flag that they changed allowing you to fill empty one. This way no Interruption in gas flow.

      @jenny_adrift  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you for thinking of this Charlie! It looks like our propane system is a bit different. There’s a little swivel switch valve thing that points at either of the propane tanks. Whichever tank it’s pointing at is the one that’s being used. Once that one is empty you have to point it at the other one.
      I’m obviously not an expert though haha. Thanks for your comment. I will look into this further. Also we are now in Arizona and are not running the heat anymore so we haven’t run out in a while! Yay!!

    You are both still smiling so that is good. Maybe you should learn to knit or crochet while riding. It is what I do to relax.

      That’s a good way of keeping busy and to be productive while you’re sitting still. It’s my first time travelling down so I’m happy with just looking around and filming.
      Thanks for joining us on our adventure!
