what was your first city? is it westpoint?
@@MariPlayz1 the one in the video is Honolulu/Anna Maria
it was technically in the same world, but westpoint was a custom worldpainter map, and the world border just switched back into regular Minecraft terrain. So, we removed the worldborder and I worked with Aequotis to build a highway off the island of westpoint, through the tunnel, and about 10km south-west to a nice spot I found in the default terrain, which is where I started the city
I had built cities previously but this was the first BIG one

I never thought that hiking in Minecraft could be so magical. I love hiking irl, so this was a pleasant surprise.
I really REALLY want to see a full-game mod out of this hiking concept. Like a hiking simulator. At a core, you could set campsites and scavenge / prepare food and water as you try to make it far away to big landmarks. Since minecraft is so modular, you could add new animals to hunt and new things to see along the trail too. It could even be procedurally generated in a linear fashion. There's so much to do with the concept.

@@Alpine1 Yeah. Something relaxing but involving, kinda like a job sim if you've ever played one of those, but more variety.

I also love the simplicity of the build idea of a hiking trail through a natural landscape, accompanied by bits of thoughtful and detailed architecture that doesn’t take away from the landscape 😌

I loved when you talked about your current architecture program and how you got into architecture. I’m starting college in August at the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and I’m gonna be majoring in environmental design which is in the University’s school of architecture. And these videos have helped me get a feel of what it’s gonna be like. I even decided to start my own city a couple days ago based on Japan.

BTW dude you should start a podcast if you have the time. You've got that relaxing voice that works so well in a purely audio format. It could be an architecture/engineering themed one, where you talk about different topics every episode. You could even consider bringing in guests down the line. I know I would listen to it.

I think its kinda neat that you went to carleton I got accepted into the architecture urbanism program there this fall!
I think a really helpful video would be how to decorate the first floor interior of a skyscraper. i.e. the reception area and lobby since the space is so large and can be awkward to try and fill up.

I wish I could download the custom terrain but I’m on mobile, I really wanna get a. Computer so I can do this, I plan to get a computer soon that helps to get this stuff, I live in a small town so the small town atmosphere is pretty nice and I’d like to make a town like that!

hey! it's our vanilla texturepack called "CubedPack" (link in description), but it only works on java version 1.14.4 AND with optifine 1.14.4
@@Alpine1 works with 1.19.4 but GUI is bugged bec newers version have GUI different than 1.14.4 sad so urs advice is create a city in 1.14.4 ye?
