Snuff is a masterpiece that Slipknot fans will never get tired of. Its so full of emotion, for christ sakes Corey Fuckin Taylor is trying not to bawl his eyes out in the middle of the song.
This is by far the best music perfomance i have ever seen. No one ever showed me this much, that he expressed the way he feels with his music.. Corey Taylor, i know you lost a member of your family, i'm sorry about that, but you showed all the people around the world, that you're human and not ajust a guy behind a mask...
+JopezoFIN Same man, just seeing him like that actually really shatters my spirit... Corey didn't deserve what happened to him, but everything happens for a reason. Just like what Corey has said before "At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself" He's gone through so much heartache and down falls in his life on and off. First song I ever heard from these guys when I was 9, till this very day. It still makes me cry because he's a great guy and like I said, "He didn't deserve all of these downfalls in his life."
4:13 Whoever the fuck screamed "Sing it baby, come on! " after Corey broke down, the deepest pit of hell has opened and the devil is patiently waiting for you.
this guy is an absolute fucking genius, he is so talented and his music is like no others. if you want to cry then watch this video, this is a man pouring his heart and soul into a song.
darkangel no. The song was about that but this performance in particular of this song was dedicated to Paul Gray, Slipknots late bass player who tragically died of a drug overdose in May of 2010 R.I.P Paul Gray 1972 - 2010
To the hateful comments calling him weak for crying...Saying its gay...saying its not manly...He lost one of his best friends, for gods sake show some damned respect. If you lose a loved one, you dont just go on like nothing happened, it hurts, and it doesnt very much go away. You're the weak ones for being so closed minded about other people and their emotions. Someone who is weak is someone who is afraid to show their sorrow, whos afraid to open up, all it does is put your insecurities to the forefront.
what happens when you dont cry the pain only doubles, its pretty naturally that we cry. seeing how there is tearducts in our bodys for millions of years
Freemo Plays Accepting grief and pain through crying is one of the best ways to cope and come to terms with the issues at hand, sort of like an emotional poo
Just in case anyone wanted to know the tuning its: C# G# E B F# C# It's going from high E down. OR that's the tuning in studio. He could be using something else here.
I have nothing but respect for Corey Taylor crying like he did. A man like him, headstrong to the core and built to last, showing his soft side during a song for Paul Gray. Saying he is a pussy for crying on stage is like saying you wouldn't care if your loved ones passed. Everyone is human, and everyone cries, sometimes on the inside and outside. Anyone who says otherwise is not telling the truth. R.I.P. Paul Gray, #2 all the way. And respect to Corey Taylor, for letting his emotions be seen.
Corey makes me very emotional... even when he is happy. He reminds me of my dad when my dad wasn’t a drug addict and was still himself. My dad even looks like Corey. ❤️
Damn, this beats all of the emotional sobbing performances of other artists who just stop mid song. The pain just added to the vocals and made them stronger
For those who don't know, this song is about Corey's first divorce, not about Paul. The reason Corey has such an emotional bond to this song is because this was the last song they recording for All Hope is Gone, and thus the last song Paul and Corey worked together on. And like Corey had said, "They were like brothers."
I dedicate this to Joey Jordison, his death was a devastation and it broke me. We'll always remember the greatest drummer that ever lived, rest in peace Joey.
That's straight up fuckin metal man, I don't care what anyone says. Losing anyone, in any form is some of the worst non-physical pain you can experience. My heart goes out to him for finishing strong and continuing to make badass music with one of the greatest bands ever. Rock the fuck on! \m/
Thinking about Corey and how this song relates to him I think of this song *hitting him like a 10 ton pallet of bricks emotionally.* I'm just listening to it and it hits me at an emotional core that I didn't think I had. It's astounding that he was able to articulate his emotions and even more incredible that he could preform something so personal in public for the world to see him. I'm a big fan of "made of scars" by stone sour (Also Corey Taylor) but snuff proves that scars run deeper than the skin and flesh especially in Corey.
@@rensverhoef2339 skip to 3:25 that's for Paul right crying his eye out while singing these lines- So break yourself against my stones And spit your pity in my soul You never needed any help You sold me out to save yourself

+Ian Loeb We were hit hard with sandy too. I heard a few of the tragedies on the news after it was over and I'm so sorry for your loss. A tattoo sounds so sweet and you're an amazing friend
I know how you feel. I lost my soul mate. Even though it is coming up on 15 years since he passed, I still miss him & love him. Loss is rough. There is no " easy button" to healing. I think getting a memorial tattoo would be a beautiful way to show your love for her forever.
justin thompson I agree. I never got round to them until the past year, and found The Grey Chapter to be one of the most honest, heartfelt albums of last year
You can really hear the pain in his voice at 3:08, Corey Taylor is honestly one of the most genuine people I've ever seen. Brother you deserve so much, Paul's definitely proud of ya.
i felt that, crying while singing is hard, yet, he hit every note and it still sounded good, hes brave for showing his emotions though, everyone thinks guys shouldn't cry, everyone has emotions regardless of their gender.
Death Machine well, guys cry whenever they need to, i used to cry alot, cuz i was sad and stressed, the only reason i dont cry very much now is because im living with almost no stress, same could be said for a girl too
Death Machine So you know every guy on earth so you're aware of what the vast majority are thinking? I can tell you that guys that dont cry in public usually cry when they're alone, society made it taboo for us to feel sadness, but if you catch a guy when he thinks he's completely alone, youd see a different side in alot of men
Stupid2669 you must live in a rough area bro, ive only been mocked a couple times and the people that did it always got a "long talk" with my friends, you might not believe it but im apparently "rolling with the big boys" and they all respect me, i let them know right off the bat how I view emotions and since i stand for it they respect me about it, im by no means some "pc asshat" i just speak the truth, stand for something or fall for everything. If what you stand for is men being allowed to cry then you better flaunt it because if you dont then you're just as bad as the people who dont think emotions are ok
Bury all your secrets in my skin Come away with innocence and leave me with my sins The air around me still feels like a cage And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again So if you love me let me go And run away before I know My heart is just too dark to care I can't destroy what isn't there Deliver me into my fate If I'm alone I cannot hate I don't deserve to have you Ooh, my smile was taken long ago If I can change I hope I never know I still press your letters to my lips And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss I couldn't face a life without your lights But all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fight So save your breath, I will not care I think I made it very clear You couldn't hate enough to love Is that supposed to be enough? I only wish you weren't my friend Then I could hurt you in the end I never claimed to be a saint Ooh, my own was banished long ago It took the death of hope to let you go So break yourself against my stones And spit your pity in my soul You never needed any help You sold me out to save yourself And I won't listen to your shame You ran away, you're all the same Angels lie to keep control Ooh, my love was punished long ago If you still care don't ever let me know If you still care don't ever let me know
to all those who say he just screams and has no talent to those i give you this and paul how much you are missed cannot be put into words i just had wished i had gotten the chance to see you live see you later man rip
Corey Taylor is my absolute favorite singer/songwriter. Everything he does, he does it with passion. You can feel his anguish during this performance. I'm battling depression as well, and a lot of his music has helped me cope. It let's me realize that I'm not the only one dealing with this darkness. Thank you Corey for being a rock for myself and I'm sure many others.
@Malix Corvin. I've dealt with depression since I was six years old. Before Slipknot and Stone Sour, I discovered Alice In Chains, and songs like Down in a hole, Brother, Rotten Apple, Would and Nutshell helped me get through. People always asked me why I listened to sad music if I was sad, and all I could say was "they understand what I'm going through, and they made it through to write about it". Depression is a constant fight, but if I can get through it, believe me so can you! Never stop fighting, and keep on rocking! Peace!!!
This is prove to all those stereotypical people who think metal band/singers are dark, evil and have no feelings. In fact, they are probably the complete opposite. For example: -Blink 182- Made 'Adam's Song' after a fan wrote to them and then committed suicide after. -Nirvana- They stayed up hours after concerts to respond to fan mail. -Metallica- A 90 year old woman wrote to them saying their her favorite band. They visted her straight away. Then you have the people who think are perfect, or did: Justin B- Well, what do I have to say? Done drugs, spat on fans, drink driving, 2 hours late to concert. So on and so forth One Diraction- Denied to visit a child who had cancer because they found out they won't get payed.
Totally agree with you! I find the metal crowd are a much more "feeling" group. They understand the MUSIC and what's involved in it so much more! The lyrics of metal songs quite often have so much more meaning. When my old band were writing, it wasn't just random words, each song had a meaning. Lyrics mean something in metal. As for the bands themselves. I find that metal bands are more willing to help in the community, often it's for kids who are coming from a similar background as themselves. While this song was originally about a lost love, it has become the song used most to symbolise the love for Paul Gray. Metal isn't just a collection of bands and fans. It's a huge family!
What annoys me with "music" here is that they play all that rubbish, but when the actually play requests for people the music is generally more rocky (it may be a lot of bon jovi or stuff like that, but I have so much more respect for stuff like bon jovi that I do for the rubbish they play nowadays). I love metal myself personally but I do have respect for BANDS, not pop crap!!!
EpicPwnerXP I agree completely. People think metal is all dark, evil music, but if you really listen to the lyrics, metal is probably the most perfect, down-to-earth music ever created. Example; ever since "The Rev" in Avenged Sevenfold died, it seems they've made a song in every album for him. "Fiction", "St. James", "So Far Away" etc. I think it's great when bands like Slipknot have moments like these (even though it was only 1 person), because it shows that they ARE just human, just like everybody else in the world. It's amazing that they can take all of that and put it into great music.
i respect that he cried in front of so many people. it takes balls just for him to stand in front of so many, and even more to breakdown woth emotion like that. corey has every ounce of my respect.
I sang this song at karaoke the night I filed for divorce after almost 25 years. I sang it again the day after my divorce was final. It helped me get through it and move on.
You know what got me into tears? When he looked up, as if he was saying... This is for you Paul... Let's rock this crowd one last time together, even if you're not here anymore!
The hurt and pain in his voice, that came from deep within....the love he had for his brother in the band really speaks to a lot of us...he's human just like us. It's okay to show emotion and cry. So powerful.
How many of us starting crying along with him when Corey broke down and let the tears come? One of my best friends died June 21st 2020 and she LOVED Corey Taylor, we had so many conversations about how we adore him and basically everything he does. God damn... My dad was a Marine, I always cried when I saw him come from after seven long months of hoping he isn't dead. The thought of losing him made me cry every night. I've been strong on emotions ever since, but this is different. It's the same thought, only instead of it not happening, it happened, and you can't change it. Most positive comment I've seen on here. Nice to see someone has a brain and a heart.
The emotion in Corey's voice gives me goosebumps
On his face too
susubear13 fucking tears
+JopezoFIN Same man, just seeing him like that actually really shatters my spirit... Corey didn't deserve what happened to him, but everything happens for a reason. Just like what Corey has said before "At the same time, it was good that she did, because it was that final push to me figuring out myself"
He's gone through so much heartache and down falls in his life on and off. First song I ever heard from these guys when I was 9, till this very day. It still makes me cry because he's a great guy and like I said, "He didn't deserve all of these downfalls in his life."
+susubear13 jerry hsu belongs on chocolate not enjoi. I'm glad he's on it now
4:13 Whoever the fuck screamed "Sing it baby, come on! " after Corey broke down, the deepest pit of hell has opened and the devil is patiently waiting for you.
Uhh. That's helping him? They were encouraging him.
Uhh. That's helping him? They were encouraging him.
Watching this after Joey's death hurts even more.
These damn invisible ninjas cutting onions around me again.
+Death's Siren lmao clever you are
+Death's Siren Yeah, they're really spewing onion-juice everywhere.
Oh God Damn It They Are Next To Me Aswell.
Ha nice (-_-)
I see what you did there
...there he stands...among his audience...naked and broken...hiding nothing...a true artist...a real man !!
What you typed sounds like Slipknot lyrics
you can tell he's felt this pain so many times before. brings a man to tears.
A band that actually loves fans and doesn't pretend to
Absolutetly.
First time a song has made me cry, this is performance is gold
Not the first time for me but definitely the most emotional performance of it.
Rex Smith every time I listen to so fae away I cry
It's crazy seeing him sing heavy metal in a creepy mask, then here almost crying
Corey is just a big lover boy
that's all about being human...
at the end of the day were all human beings. he lost a great friend that's never easy
that's a true artist where words come from the heart
He's still a human
I still can't believe it's been over 10 years... Rest in power, Paul -- you're still missed.
He headbangs with joey up there..
Now they both headbang together ;((((
You can totally tell he's powering through the song as fast as possible. This song brings so much pain, it's hard to get through as intended slowly.
this guy is an absolute fucking genius, he is so talented and his music is like no others. if you want to cry then watch this video, this is a man pouring his heart and soul into a song.
+Brian Pilesky YES! :(

You know you're a true Slipknot fan when you cry the second he says Paul's name😢R.I.P. PAUL GRAY
I cried at the moment corey looked up to the heavens
its hard to watch this. you can see the pain in his eyes
I know he's hurting but he's. A tough man with emotions
I can't see it in 480 :(
this song tells his story thats why its so emotional for him to sing
darkangel no. The song was about that but this performance in particular of this song was dedicated to Paul Gray, Slipknots late bass player who tragically died of a drug overdose in May of 2010
R.I.P Paul Gray 1972 - 2010
To the hateful comments calling him weak for crying...Saying its gay...saying its not manly...He lost one of his best friends, for gods sake show some damned respect. If you lose a loved one, you dont just go on like nothing happened, it hurts, and it doesnt very much go away.
You're the weak ones for being so closed minded about other people and their emotions. Someone who is weak is someone who is afraid to show their sorrow, whos afraid to open up, all it does is put your insecurities to the forefront.
Well said.
what happens when you dont cry the pain only doubles, its pretty naturally that we cry. seeing how there is tearducts in our bodys for millions of years
sometimes, crying is the most manly thing to do

It's going from high E down.

I'll have to try that, thanks! I've never been quite able to nail it.
Yeah, C# standard, I just did a cover today for Valentine's Special!
Guys just pop a capo onto the 3rd fret and then tune down to standard 👍🤘

Thank you friend
I have nothing but respect for Corey Taylor crying like he did. A man like him, headstrong to the core and built to last, showing his soft side during a song for Paul Gray. Saying he is a pussy for crying on stage is like saying you wouldn't care if your loved ones passed. Everyone is human, and everyone cries, sometimes on the inside and outside. Anyone who says otherwise is not telling the truth. R.I.P. Paul Gray, #2 all the way. And respect to Corey Taylor, for letting his emotions be seen.
Couldn't have said it better,Lee.
Where do these damn onions come from... I'm literally weeping.
Bless Corey

Obi Wan Knoblauch Your not alone I'm crying right now

Corey makes me very emotional... even when he is happy. He reminds me of my dad when my dad wasn’t a drug addict and was still himself. My dad even looks like Corey. ❤️
Ollie Potter I’m sad for you and I truly wish you your dad will become sober one day.

I am. Even while smoking a fucking joint. I'm that depressed.
I think we're all crying
This is exactly what other musicians and artist are missing nowadays PASSION AND EMOTION
+Electric Enriquez S.R are you afraid your parents would catch you swearing on the Internet? Are you fucking 8?
TheHadley54 Absolutely!!!! 👍👍👍
And talent
I think it's more emotional now
TheHadley54 very true my friend
who still comes to this song to cry
Damn, this beats all of the emotional sobbing performances of other artists who just stop mid song. The pain just added to the vocals and made them stronger
For those who don't know, this song is about Corey's first divorce, not about Paul.
The reason Corey has such an emotional bond to this song is because this was the last song they recording for All Hope is Gone, and thus the last song Paul and Corey worked together on. And like Corey had said, "They were like brothers."
+AlphaLineGaming Also, it was Paul's favorite song when they were recording. Corey said Paul would sing it in between takes.
+Michaels Covers also excluding a few of the lyrics it can be applied to losing a friend
And since Corey always looked up to Paul. It meant the world to Corey that, this is Paul's Favorite.
Yeah I was gonna say when it says “I still press your letters to my lips” I was like they gotta gay bond?

what an artist...
what a man!
Sometimes people just need a good cry. It really helps.

The saddest part about the video is that near the end he was looking up like paul was watching him
And the best part is that maybe he was watching him
Rest in Peace Joey
Watching this right now feels even more painful.

Not afraid to cry in front of an audience. Now THAT's punk rock.
That's straight up fuckin metal man, I don't care what anyone says. Losing anyone, in any form is some of the worst non-physical pain you can experience. My heart goes out to him for finishing strong and continuing to make badass music with one of the greatest bands ever. Rock the fuck on! \m/

Slipknot is not punk rock
Those lyrics man are like daggers thru the heart. More power to you Corey. Rip Paul.
Thinking about Corey and how this song relates to him I think of this song *hitting him like a 10 ton pallet of bricks emotionally.*
I'm just listening to it and it hits me at an emotional core that I didn't think I had.
It's astounding that he was able to articulate his emotions and even more incredible that he could preform something so personal in public for the world to see him. I'm a big fan of "made of scars" by stone sour (Also Corey Taylor) but snuff proves that scars run deeper than the skin and flesh especially in Corey.
You can tell when someone sings with their soul.
the way he looked at the air like paul was watching made me burst into tears
It was. Like. He saw him he was in that room
This song was written for a girl idiots
@@akhiltalukdar4074 read the description idiot he played it for paul and even sayd it it the intro of the video dumbass.
@@rensverhoef2339 I heard that dumb fuck..he mentioned earlier that snuff is very close and personal to him... He is shedding his tears for that girl
@@rensverhoef2339 skip to 3:25 that's for Paul right crying his eye out while singing these lines-
So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul
You never needed any help

Imagine how hard it is for him to play this song every time but knowing it touches our soul each and every time. Respect
The conviction Corey has when he sings makes me cry.
i played this at my friends funeral after hurricane sandy hit she got killed by a falling tree when i heard i was devastated i almost killed myself i knew her from back when we were five years old and i was dating her and was gonna ask her to marry me i started drinking profusely and locking myself in my room but then realized she wouldn't want me to live like that so i recovered for her
Damn Hurricane Sandy! Sorry to hear that
TheWaitingGuy 03 yeah i'm thinking about getting a memorial tattoo for her
+Ian Loeb We were hit hard with sandy too. I heard a few of the tragedies on the news after it was over and I'm so sorry for your loss. A tattoo sounds so sweet and you're an amazing friend
matt lovett thanks
I know how you feel. I lost my soul mate. Even though it is coming up on 15 years since he passed, I still miss him & love him. Loss is rough. There is no " easy button" to healing. I think getting a memorial tattoo would be a beautiful way to show your love for her forever.
Slipknot is my favorite for the exact reason of how much emotion and meaning they put into their music
justin thompson i know that is the reason that they are my favorite bend too
andrija krsmanovic my favorite bend, ahahaha
mine too
Timothe Pierre Hussenet ^
justin thompson I agree.
Cory Taylor is truly an Artist who wears his heart on his sleeve, and I respect him greatly for that honesty...
Guys don't even cry that much, it just goes to show how much heart Corey has, so much emotion in that song
Death Machine you understand thats just a stereotype, right? guys do cry, it aint rare.
Death Machine men do cry, not for themselves, but for their family
Bury all your secrets in my skin
Come away with innocence and leave me with my sins
The air around me still feels like a cage
And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage again
So if you love me let me go
And run away before I know
My heart is just too dark to care
I can't destroy what isn't there
Deliver me into my fate
If I'm alone I cannot hate
I don't deserve to have you
Ooh, my smile was taken long ago
If I can change I hope I never know
I still press your letters to my lips
And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss
I couldn't face a life without your lights
But all of that was ripped apart when you refused to fight
So save your breath, I will not care
I think I made it very clear
You couldn't hate enough to love
Is that supposed to be enough?
I only wish you weren't my friend
Then I could hurt you in the end
I never claimed to be a saint
Ooh, my own was banished long ago
It took the death of hope to let you go
So break yourself against my stones
And spit your pity in my soul
You never needed any help
You sold me out to save yourself
And I won't listen to your shame
You ran away, you're all the same
Angels lie to keep control
Ooh, my love was punished long ago
If you still care don't ever let me know
If you still care don't ever let me know
Seeing someone like Corey cry is just a sign of so much strength and braveness...
to all those who say he just screams and has no talent to those i give you this and paul how much you are missed cannot be put into words i just had wished i had gotten the chance to see you live see you later man rip
Corey is one the greats of this era.
I am a huge fan of Corey Taylor too
@Malix Corvin. Peace!!!
The balls a man like him has to write such deep words and sing them and share them with millions. Saved a lot of peo0le with this kind of music
Seeing men being openly emotional is so fucking wonderful embrace your feeling boys
:')
This is prove to all those stereotypical people who think metal band/singers are dark, evil and have no feelings. In fact, they are probably the complete opposite.
For example:
-Blink 182- Made 'Adam's Song' after a fan wrote to them and then committed suicide after.
-Nirvana- They stayed up hours after concerts to respond to fan mail.
-Metallica- A 90 year old woman wrote to them saying their her favorite band. They visted her straight away.
Then you have the people who think are perfect, or did:
Justin B- Well, what do I have to say? Done drugs, spat on fans, drink driving, 2 hours late to concert. So on and so forth
One Diraction- Denied to visit a child who had cancer because they found out they won't get payed.
EpicPwnerXP
I agree completely. It's amazing that they can take all of that and put it into great music.
awesome doesn't even begin to convey what Im feeling right now reading this

i respect that he cried in front of so many people. it takes balls just for him to stand in front of so many, and even more to breakdown woth emotion like that. corey has every ounce of my respect.
And it takes talent to sing like that while feeling pain.
I sang this song at karaoke the night I filed for divorce after almost 25 years. I sang it again the day after my divorce was final. It helped me get through it and move on.
oh man seeing this literally broke my heart, you're amazing corey
This is real music coming straight from the heart. Corey is an awesome artist:)
You know what got me into tears? When he looked up, as if he was saying... This is for you Paul... Let's rock this crowd one last time together, even if you're not here anymore!
40th like. Amen
I think of her every time I hear this song and it just breaks my heart that I’ll never hear her laugh or see her smile again. Rest In Peace Frankii Wuelfing ❤️ we love you and miss you so much.
"I wouldn't cry at this because I'm a fucking man" said nobody as he quickly and violently begun to burst into tears.
exactly
God damn...
My dad was a Marine, I always cried when I saw him come from after seven long months of hoping he isn't dead. The thought of losing him made me cry every night. I've been strong on emotions ever since, but this is different. It's the same thought, only instead of it not happening, it happened, and you can't change it. He poured his heart and soul into the song, you know Paul meant so much to him...
Mr. Universe your father is a hero. I thank him for his service.
Tell him that I thank him for his service.
Mr. Fancypants your dad is a hero tell him I said thanks
Respect to your father man. This song isnt for Paul though, just so you know brother.
It wasn't written for him, but after he died they dedicated it to him...
Snuff still has to be one of my favourite Slipknot songs.
Just captures such an emotional vibe, my goto venting song for my worst days.
