Going by the chart of nifty returns v gold returns, it makes a lot of sense to buy gold instead of nifty index etf as gold will provide the downside protection too.

The best stocks have bought me in last 2 years are bullions and of late into debt funds. In this market, protecting capital is the key to survive than hoping for extra gains in stocks! Gold does that quite comfortably and the debt funds playing a key role as insurance for both.

Sir, Gold returns in INR were mostly due to currency devaluation against USD and going forward if dominance of US - USD is not there then future returns of GOLD in INR terms will be not so good. Please advice.

India will not allow INR to appreciate much against USD to maintain export competitiveness, our rupee will strengthened but not too that extent that gold return will become less.
Let me explain by hypothetical example. If dollar loses 10% of the value for example, gold will increase by 10% + x factor in USD term (more than 10% because of economic uncertainity of USA)
and also RBI will not allow INR to appreciate by y% against dollar. Then your return of gold would be x + 10 % - y%. My assumption is x would be high and y would not be that high.

Nifty / gold futures ratio chart (week time frame ) shows nifty outperformed gold from August 2020 to November 2021. Thereafter there is sideways movement with nether getting upper hand for long periods of time.
The sideways is falling flag pattern. There was break out from flag in July and now retest is in progress

If one's corpus is less than 30~50 lakhs then should not invest in gold.. It should be considered by HNI where upside expectation is low and wealth protection is main focus.. It's like coming to a party and not having food.. You should give this disclaimer.. Learning to buy high quality company should be your main target

Im confused. What is the best way to buy gold. Physical gold - I cant because I dont want to store it at home. Making charges are too much. Bought gold for my friend. Making charges + gst costed me 14% extra. SGB's I cant lock in period is too much. I currently have bought gold via Gold bees. Is it a good way to buy gold. Gold is all time high but why is the etf not in all time high. Is it good to buy Gold ETF's or should I go for something else?
I have bought Silver using MCX futures you have to pay 1% kind of interest every month.

Sir, can the process of rebalancing also be made automatic. Means I even don't want to keep the brokers app in my phone. I want the smallcase to rebalance by itself. I do have some other stocks as well in my other account and I have made a habit of opening the brokers app and checking the prices of those stocks as well as the smallcase stocks. Even after knowing that I cannot help in growing them just by staring at them on regular intervals.😢

history - present smart advisors - astrolgical predictions : all are suggesting go for Gold, more so at present times. We shouldnt risk by not listening to them. All of them cant be wrong. Even if they do, gold has never depreciated if not giving returns. SGB is the one best thing...but unfortunately they r not issuing anymore.

In India everyone likes to buy gold at cheap prices, if gold price is at all time high people won't purchase much. When duty cut happened at that time people rushed to showrooms for buying gold.
