I am very disappointed by some people's comments, it does not have a good effect on the understanding between African and Chinese, some of those are just hateful thoughts. I am Chinese. Before I came to America , I had more sympathy for Black American because of their history. Now i have already lived in the U.S for more than 20 yrs, to be honest, I often don’t have good impression. For instance, two yrs ago I had new neighbors, they are three young Black American, ever since they moved in, the surrounding neighbors have been disturbed. They seem don’t respect their neighbors and the place they live in. I am the most direct victim cause they live under me . And most recently, there are few Black homeless people living inside our buildings, our janitor got beaten up for no reason, his cell phone snatched by that homeless person. Despite all the experience I had, though I really don’t like what they has done I still not discriminate against Black people, I participated in BLM activities because I think the root causes is deep social problems that can’t change over night, i also believe that are more good people than bad. I just hope things will be alright. PS: I personally feel Africans are different from Black American, not sure how but I can feel, I have met a few Africans. I have no hostility towards Africa either, when I grew up, I often heard from media that African people are our friends. And I hope that Africans , Black Americans will also reduce their misinterpretation of the Chinese.
