Thanks Malaya, I spent an age trying to wedge the battery box opened (Oh the pain...), but your video gave me tip on where I needed to unclip the door. Now to figure out BimmerLink to clear the code :D
I did some research on this about a month ago and found the real issue is it’s a 3g SIM card that causes the problem. Since 3g is no more you will get the error forever unless you code it out
Great video, well explained, the battery cost about 70 bucks, and by the way BMW dont charge you 600 bucks, i got a quote 100 bucks, still i prefer to do it myself
The dealership wants $900 to replace this. I watched another guy on TH-cam change this out from start to finish in 15 minutes, and the battery was only $46 on eBay.
I’ll personally order from fcp because you’ll know the battery is new and won’t have a problem. But in some cases the battery isn’t the problem, it might be the tele module. I personally like to try the cheapest option for fixing before spending crazy amounts of money
@@malayaf30 That's the route I'm trying to take. I've heard stories about water damage being a common problem because of a faulty seal around the shark fin antennae, but my gut tells me I'd also have problems with my GPS, phone, and satellite radio if that were the case. All of those work, so fingers crossed 🤞.
@@malayaf30but how does one clear the code? Is that a link or app that you are showing? Do I need some type of connection? A laptop? I see what u did as far as clearing the errors I just don’t know how you linked to your car.
BimmerLink is used for checking/clearing codes BimmerCode is used for coding features Doesn’t work for everyone, sometimes the actual module goes bad and that is required to go to the dealer for them to upload the software.
I’m having same problem but with a g20 and I can’t get the code to go away and it keeps calling sos!! Reason of it happening I just got my car wrapped recently and leaked thru the top
I have a 320d f30 i have pulled roof liner and there is no box like this the only thing that is there is the black box what has the flat ribbon wire onto the window and the connections to the shark fin on the roof? Mone came up with sos fault all of a sudden its not under boot floor either any idea? Im stuck
@malayaf30 Hi no it's a 2012 model only thing in the boot floor is the big module for I think the sat nav/head unit I wonder if it may be in the side panel in the trunk?
It’s an app called Bimmer link for IOS and Android. I just downloaded the app it’s $35 for IOS. This is the missing step after the replaced my battery for my X7

Muchas gracias por tu video, hoy recibí la batería y hoy mismo la cambié, me costó en Amazon $630 pesos ($38USD)
I’ve just replaced mine and used Autophix 7910 to code it out. Thank you so much for this video.

Replace the battery
Drive the car as normal
MSG will clear automatically after 40-50 miles if you don't want to code it
Are you 100% sure?
Yes, I did this on my 2017 330e, the code cleared after driving the car for about 15 minutes.

Спасибо, малАя!🙂
What’s your warning chime
how did you clear the error
I use BimmerLink and from there you need to go to the 2 codes checkers and clear it
I removed the old battery and put a new one in and the message is still there. I don’t understand at all. How does one code it out ? Very confusing
You must clear the code after you install the battery, but sometimes it’s not the problem unfortunately sometimes the actual tel module went bad 😢

nice video.what app do you use ?
Amazing video 🥳🥳👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for sharing. Did you have to clear code if so what did u in order to clear it? BimmerCode or bimmerlink?
BimmerLink is used for checking/clearing codes
BimmerCode is used for coding features

@@malayaf30 thanks for that information. Have a wonderful weekend.
Thanks for sharing. Are there 82 errors in the car?
Yes, some of them are caused from coding different features
Great video!
I’m having same problem but with a g20 and I can’t get the code to go away and it keeps calling sos!! Reason of it happening I just got my car wrapped recently and leaked thru the top
That’s one of the causes of that happening, a lot of wrap shops don’t seal it correctly. Don’t bring it to BMW they’ll void your warranty
Did either of you figure out a solution. I'm having the same issue after getting my car wrapped

I’m guessing your F30 is >2018.. the older F30s sos module is in the trunk

Unfortunately the battery did not fix my problem, both batteries are good at 8.2v
Great video but how did you clear code..I have changed the battery but code is still there...please help!!

Another option is ISTA+ and an Enet Cable. This is what the BMW technicians use.
I use BimmerCode and OBD LINK MX+
Pls can you give a link for the OBD Link MX+ ?
Опа )))
