These 2 are the foundation of Saw. If it wasnt for just the two simple geniuses there would be no SAW...wow, smart dudes man. Thank you james and leigh very much.
If any one remembers death sentence Kevin bacon I loved that movie. The violence the intensity that movie made me respect James wans craft in films. To me he is close to the modern day Stephen King he may not write books but his movies are creepy and classics like Stephen King books
@555dking It isn't an accent, dumbass. It's called not having an accent. We Californians not consider ourselves to have an accent, therefore it is dropping an accent , not having an american one. There is no standard American Accent. There is southern accents and NO accents, etc.
The both of them together are serious gold man. They are both geniuses and they paved a way for just puzzled psychological movies. I loved how they stuck together and work together on known movies! So cool man
There's so much passion in the way they both talk about their work, I could listen to them for hours. Also, can we talk about how James and Leigh quite literally predicted the plot of Cocaine Bear with that Drop Bears film idea in the end??
@@scouttalent7456Yeah but saw is more fast-paced and lesser-known. I actually had the sixth sense spoiled before I watched the film so maybe I’m biased. But I think the fact that saw doesn’t incorporate any supernatural elements makes it more believable
I remember hearing from somewhere that when they finished the editing and showed the final scene to James he had to leave the room, because Leigh’s screaming was so heart-wrenching. Idk if it’s true, considering he’s the director and was in the room when Leigh was screaming his head off, but I imagine it must be different seeing the final cut.
@scouttalent7456 No it doesn't, dumbass. Sixth Sense ending was VERY predictable and already had been done to death, no pun intended. It isn't even that good of a movie.
Leigh sure can talk🙂 So cool when people meet and become friends and collaborate together and make their dreams come true. Twenty years later, producing SAW X and it’s one of the best in the Franchise. I want to look up how they landed Tobin Bell for the first film? Was anyone else considered for the role of John Kramer? Hats off to Lionsgate for giving new talent and ideas an opportunity, and taking some risks on people.
i heard that the guy in the barbed wire trap was up for the role of john, but he didn't want to spend the whole film on the floor, so he opted to be in a trap instead, so the role of jigsaw went to tobin :^)
@@gothblyatclique4276it couldn’t have worked out better. I think had they picked anyone else for the role, the saw films wouldn’t have the success they do. They got lucky with Tobin.
Where can I find the full uncut version of this panel interview? I know I've seen it in it's entirety somewhere and I'd love to get my hands on it for an essay I'm doing on the franchise
same here, i really do enjoy the interview. and hell yeah. bounce down to James & Leigh. u r a filmmaker"s hero & make us believe that there is a chance to become something in "H" dream world. eventhough, its just a fu*K*** small tiny little chance but we do. thanks for popcorn taxi
I have so much respect for these guys, and I admire their creation. But the producers are the true heroes. They took a leap of faith and still allowed these guys their creative positions. That just doesn’t happen. especially at this level. Thank god for the cheesy producers
i loved adam in SAW. great acting. if you see SAW for the first time then watch SAW 1-7, but not 8 and 9. they are so bad and the story has nothing to do with the story from 1-7
leigh had acted in some australian programming and the matrix sequel before saw and they also were friends with already established creatives like their composer so that certainly didn't hurt
Carolin Sullivan Please don’t impose your condoning of inconsiderate, indecent behaviour in front of others on me. You ain’t no lady! in my country Singapore, women who are vulgar are despised like whores, bargirls or social escorts!
James Tan it was evolution entertainment bought the script and. Lionsgate bought the film for distribution deal. DreamWorks and Golden Circle offered them much more though without creative freedom
Saw X is the closest to be a real good follow up to Saw, the other movies are fine but the older I get the more I realise how meh or bad some of the sequels are. My Ranking: Saw, SAW X, Saw II....The rest are all meh or bad.
Saw had my interest up until the guy saws his own foot off. Fucking ridiculous. Nobody is able to do that. Your body goes into shock from the pain, and if you continue you pass out. Especially if you do it with a slow ass hacksaw. Shit like that needs to go quickly before your senses can ever react. Then of course you have to deal with not bleeding out in less than 2 mins.
DR Gordon did it in a state of temporary insanity. He did it as quick as humanly possible for him. His increased adrenaline level helped with not going into shock and they show in SAW VII that he used a superhot steam pipe to cauterize the stump so he doesn't bleed out to death. AND THE SEVENTH SAW FILM ALSO SHOWS THAT HE DID PASS OUT A FEW MINUTES AFTER SAWING HIS OWN FOOT OFF. IF CRAMER HADN'T SAVED HIM AT THE RIGHT TIME, HE WOULD HAVE DIED.
@@GreenFlame44 Point taken. I just had trouble with my suspension of disbelief from then on in, and I'm usually very forgiving when it comes to the movie medium.
