I like the dynamic between Detective Hoffman and Jigsaw the best. A guy who likes inflicting pain on others still listens and obeys the rules, it emphasises Jigsaw's power in the relationship. How he could have dirt on him and also other apprentices we don't know about. And I like seeing apprentices work together who really would rather do without one another, if it weren't for needing each other. I'd like to see a movie with all the apprentices battling it out with all their different ideals. We could see the Jigsaw killer's legacy 4 or 5 different versions of Jigsaw, renamed to help them stand out. Just off the top of my head, the "puzzle master" among others. The detectives could have trouble working out whose traps were whose. And one of them pretended to be another Jigsaw variant only for the detectives to realise they were onto the wrong one and it cost them big time for making that mistake since they acted the wrong way for that particular Jigsaw and were outsmarted.
God, Saw X is so good. We finally get a full movie dedicated solely to John. No cop plot, sheer Tobin Bell acting magic. You don't need to see the whole series to understand it. It takes place between 2 and 3 where Amanda is still an apprentice. (Plus we get a little shot of Hoffman) We get more actively angry and sad scenes with John. The traps are gory and they really lean hard into dad joke Jigsaw and symbolism. We get a new variant of the classic Hello Zepp- Charlie absolutely *nails* the soundtrack in general.

I absolutely adore this entire series up to The Final Chapter. I've yet to see anything past that.
