    So Well Explained @ Calvary Chapel Franklin. I like how you also explained "Why" the Old Testament & New Testament Israeli Women wore their "Head Covering Veils" (to keep the "Fallen Angels" from wanting to take them) that makes a lot of sense... God Bless & Maranatha!

    I tried to read the first book of Enoch, and I admit that I was a bit stunned. I set it aside for a time and returned solely to the Word of God. I plan to go back and start reading more in Enoch, but I will look at it differently after putting it down for some time. I knew it isn't considered canonical, but it reminded me of some of the old, fictional sci fi books I read decades ago before I became a Christian. I think I was expecting it to be similar to Josephus, written more like a history book. I won't encourage or recommend Enoch to anyone, but I will say that one must be sure of their salvation and theology before getting into extra Biblical texts.

      Yes- very good wisdom and good warning you stated. We must not rely on anything that is not in the finished Word of God. We don't serve a God of confusion and God doesn't play tricks on people. If the Book of Enoch were divinely inspired and God wanted it in his completed Word, it would have been included in the cannon. If its not canonical, we can read it for "history" purposes as you said but must not place it on the same inerrant, authoritative level as the Bible.

    The fallen "Archons" wanted "to circumvent what God had promised in Genesis Chapter 3." ...Yes, namely the Holy "Seed" -- Messiah Jesus, the unique Lamb (and Lion), begotten Son of God. ...(Thanks, Pastor Brian, for this fine intro to the concepts of the "Divine Council" as well as the inter-dimensional nature of so-called "space aliens.")

    Thank you for this balanced response. I believe this may in fact be true but am concerned it may open up the door to people justifying worship of other “gods”.

    Book of Enoch is a very unique read and tells the story of what demons are. Michael Heiser used this as his understanding of demons too. Many prophecies are written in it too for End of Days.

      We don't serve a God of confusion. We have God's inerrant authoritative Word that was given to us. The Book of Enoch is not included in the cannon. Therefore, it is not on the same inerrant authoritative level as the Bible.

    Good talk Brian. What's your take on Heiser's "Unseen Realm" for this topic? I've had it on my list to read as sort of a primer but my OT studies have the lion's share of my reading time.

    • @nanadeborah8717
      @nanadeborah8717 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It's actually Heiser's doctoral thesis. Has tons of footnotes and has been peer reviewed. I would suggest reading this first before continuing your OT studies, since OT is his wheelhouse. Anything written before 2010 about ancient Israelites beliefs is out of date per Heiser. The Dead Sea Scrolls have given an insight to the thinking of Israelites about the OT and how they viewed it. Hope this helps.

    The Book of Enoch is not the only place we see the name the 'Watchers'. Daniel 4:17 also does. The word 'angel' means 'messenger'. Many don't realize there is a hierarchy within the hosts of heaven. Consider; there are also cherubim and seraphim.

    christians need to wake up to this truth and believe what the Bible says. we claim to believe in both kinds of angels but we fail to even scratch the surface on how they interface with our reality. once you swallow this “pill” the Bible comes to life in a whole new way.

    Watchers are just that. When millions of ppl turn in to General Hospital, they are WATCHERS doing the same thing the angels do. Tune in to earth and watch humans going about their scripted lives. When humans like what they see on TV they buy the products advertised that sponsor the show. Angels or fallen angels apparently do the same thing. When humans dont like the way the TV show is headed, they write in and complain to the writers and the producers, then an actor loses his job. Look what happened when they canceled Star Trek. The WATCHERS exploded and here we are 60 years later. Demons love to watch humans as their TV. And they love writing the evil scripts for humans to act out. You may not have a TV camera pointed at you, but you got demon eye cam on you all the time. The Book of Enoch just basically lays all this out. We are not only watched but directed and put on stage and given a script. Being aware they are watching you is the first thing that has to happen for you to think about quiting your acting job.

    An angel , who can and who does take the form of man is no less an angel. This also explains the difficult notion for some who claim that angels can't procreate so those can't be the Sons of GOD there. These angels are in an ostensibly normal male body. We can know this by digging a little bit. Recall when the LORD , Joined by 2 (men) came to Abraham. How can we say these all were men? ( Even if ABE Knew there was something Very Special about them ) The Word tells us! It says - They Walked, They Sat, They Ate , They Waited , They Conversed and Then WALKED TO SODOM! Where they were still seen as men! ( Even if Lot saw something special about them) . Side thought -- Consider the the idea and Role of Watchers in light of the Descriptions of the angels ( Divine Beings ) atop the horses in Zechariah ! Remember what were they doing? Going out on Patrol! They would Present themselves to the LORD Before they went out and give HIM their Report when they Returned. ( Also in Job, the angels appear before the LORD and report). If you are seeing this , please give a little nod. I'm getting throttled big time for some reason. Smile All..... THE KING IS COMING!!!!

    Why would one believe anything in the book of Enoch? It's not canonical therefore not inspired by God.

      JUDE
      14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
      15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.

      @@vanillacreem816 The book of Enoch is quoted in INSPIRED book of Jude. Jude called Enoch a prophet in INSPIRED scripture. Jesus is called the Son of man in INSPIRED scripture, that title was first used of the coming Messiah in the book of Enoch. The book of Enoch contains a statement that it should NOT be considered INSPIRED scripture. While I agree that the book of Enoch should NOT be considered INSPIRED scripture it was well read by the Jews of Jesus time and considered to be worth reading. The CONFUSION is in forbidding modern Christians to read it. The same modern Christians who flock to bookstores to read the latest self-help books by people like Joel Osteen and every self-proclaimed 'prophet' who has a 'word' from the Lord. Read it if you like, don't read it if you don't like. Lastly, I am reminded that the Catholic church once had a list of 'forbidden' books, as I am a former Catholic who against the dictates of the priest read Foxes Book of Martyrs and in doing so gave my life the Jesus, I am against forbidding any book being read. My issue is not whether or not Enoch is inspired, rather the modern churches and pastors who forbid it being simply read.
