put yourself in his position though, from being told from the moment you joined the Army that it was going to be nothing, the war and those 25 missions would be easy, and end up seeing half of your group get blown to pieces, with no prior combat experience might I add, I wouldn't know what to say either. It's like they say with all wars "pictures and videos don't show it, you have to be there" so I mean, I agree that he could have at least said "hey this sh!t isn't at all like what they told us it was" or something like that.
Dam.........for me this is all very personal as I knew many 8th veterans including some from featured series. If anything it has made me really miss my friends very much. I joined the 8th AAF Historical Society back in the early 90s and was blessed to get to know so many of the men who'd done this for real I just wish they were all still here to see this. The last man I knew from the 8th died 10yrs ago now that made it real hard watching them all go away one by one until it ended. Best bunch of men I ever knew. For me it was like having 100 grandpas I was a young buck and they all took me under their wing. Life is hard but every now and then it is real grand even though you'll be sad in the end it's all so very worth it
"Where Is My Mind?" Ooh-stop With your feet on the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah (Yeah) Your head will collapse, and there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out in the water, see it swimmin' I was swimmin' in the Caribbean Animals were hiding behind the rocks Except the little fish Bumped into me, I swear he was trying to talk to me, koi-koi Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out in the water, see it swimmin' With your feet on the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah Your head will collapse, and there's nothing in it And you'll ask yourself Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Where is my mind? Way out in the water, see it swimmin' With your feet on the air and your head on the ground Try this trick and spin it, yeah
I was so mad at Bucky for not warning Buck how bad it was .. He could have just said ‘it’s hell up there’ … But, he didn’t …
