About 10 years ago I went to Tulsa Tough on Cry Baby Hill Day. I had never been to a race so I didn't know what to expect. Because of where we were, we had to cross the main stretch. They had an opening for people to walk across AFTER the racers had passed. I wasn't aware of this since I had just arrived. So like an idiot, I stepped onto the road when a motorcycle sped by while yelling something. Then I look down the road and see all the racers speeding towards me. I ran across the road and dove over the barricade milliseconds before the racers got to where I was. People were swearing and yelling at me, a cop was going to force me to leave, and my girlfriend was willing to leave me right then. I had no idea how fast a lap happened and it blew my mind to see how fast racers ride. Man was I ignorant!
I have been looking forward to a POV video of this race! I watched it live on the Tulsa Tough youtube channel, and I have to say I think their production was excellent, both the video of the race itself, and the announcing. Very professional. Thanks for sharing your on bike video, Will, as it really helps to see it from the perspective of inside the race itself. Especially appreciated as a former long time racer myself.
Yeah! Power data will come back! Had to get these out fast with a lot of travel, as I don't have a lot of storage room on the computer! And the software I was using for overlays was revoked 🥲
Good volume setting now buddy, nice to hear you! Now to work on your overlay - it may just be me but it seems slightly transparent? ;-) I love racing but don't think I would cope with the washing machine you race in here - that's nucking futs. I bet there's no rim brake riders huh? Work hard, be humble. I like the sound of that! Which team do you race with? Nicely ridden, any race you finish in one piece is a good one in my book. Great recap, thanks.
I can't imagine racing Crybaby Hill with no fences on the hill. Only time I raced there was Masters (doubled up A's and B's) in 2019, first year they had the fences AFAIK (and the last year a Cat 3 could do A's and B's).
Every single line coming off of Cry Baby onto the straight is bad, but some lines are definitely worse than others. Shout out to the Ribble guy in front of you doing the final corner and sprint from the hoods.

Woah, that sounds like a wild first race experience...glad you got through that 😅 hope future ones are a bit more entertaining!
The amount of contact interacted is insane.
Curious about this dude with ankle socks and the Ironman tat lol
There’s no chance he’s barefoot right?
Lol that's CJ, he was on my team last year and won cry baby for cat 1/2.

Nice! We love it when you explain and narrate the race, who is who, and a bonus when there is all the info from the power meter, etc.

Saw in another video that the DCC guy that goes straight towards the barriers 5:53 had a front flat. Pretty crazy that he held it up
🫢
Big up Ribble! Such a great result
That was scarier than a NY cab ride😅
lol that hill in person is insane. the hill itself and the atmosphere is awesome
Audio is fire
Lol thanks dawg...try to spare some primes for the rest of us this week eh 😉
Awesome video! Did you race in Clarendon at Armed Forces? I was hoping to see a breakdown of that race!
Yes, but camera didn't work! Too long of a race for the gopro batteries

I saw one of those river meth heads run up that hill faster than ANY P12 ever has.
This is my favorite youtube comment yet, well done 😅
Good work!
