Hi everyone we have been looking for a puppy tricolor for about a year and a half .. I got taken at craigslist for $1600. It has become so difficult. I spoken to professionals that only breed champions. . I have spoken to all the breeders we could find a puppy near-or far and around the country. I’ve had no luck except one lady in California She had thought that her dog was pregnant. After ultrasound she was very disappointed , because of the money that She spent and that. she wasn’t going to have new puppies. That was the last of our conversation I have not heard anything back after several emails. She was very professional until, she realized that the dog was not pregnant. I just hope she didn’t fall sick.If anyone can help me and my family to get a puppy tricolor. We will be very grateful. My family needs it and I’m slowly starting to lose interest because of the difficulties. Please help us find a puppy . Much appreciate it, stay blessed
Even the best breeders will always have "pet quality" puppies to offer. It's a tactful way to refer to the individuals which possess less desirable traits or imperfect markings/colors, etc
Highly intelligent, my Basenji was so clever. I taught him to pick up his toys and put them in a basket. Soon he started to pick up any dropped things from the floor and gave them to us. After that he started on daily rounds by himself to go round the house picking up dropped small things, like a pen, a magazine or a button. And then he began doing the same at our friends' houses. I never had to pick up anything I dropped as long as he lived.
As a former tri- color Basenji owner I can attest to all the translational information represented in this video...however odd it is conveyed ...continue to be an independent thinker....Basenjis are amazing dogs.... never underestimate a Basenji... they are much more intelligent than most of their owners.. mine ”Bantu” lived to 17.5 years ...she was an angel sent from heaven to comfort us mere mortals ❤️
Was very fortunate to have been around Basenjis since being around 9 years old. Family first got a female, then later a male, they beeded a a litter of 12 puppies. We kept one male after selling the rest. They were all white and red. Later sold the older male and female as a pair cause a breeder wanted to breed Basenjis. Sold the younger male later too. Later bougjt a tri color female had in my teen years, until Falcones too her life 6 years later. I wasn't around them through my 20's. My father got one through Basenji rescue male 10 months old, while in my lare 30's. Had hime for 12 years but darted out of the yard and was hit by a truck. Few years later Father got an older one around 11 years old through Basenji Rescue until he passed of natural causes. I was in my late 40's. Father had passed so I am looking at adopting one through Basenji rescue myself.
Our girl had a litter of 7! That was 1982 and we have not bred another since then. She did a good job with the pups but we had to feed extra. We currently have our 4th Basenji and will get another. We do not show and will not buy from someone that says you have to. We love the breed as a member of our family.
I got mine 2 weeks ago he is now 12 weeks old and he has been way more of a handful than I am used to, he can be very stubborn even when giving him treats. to be honest I wished I could have had a 2 week free trial. I don't need any haters telling me what I should have done ,we will have to work through all stubbornness .
consistent and firm discipline is a must. every day. Basenji will exploit weakness. or sell the dog now before he gets older. make it easier for the next owner.
Sounds like you’ve got a puppy, so the good news is that it’ll get better. That behavior will tone down as time progresses. Be firm with it so it earns your respect.
@@n.goulbourne6096 I feel you, finding reputable breeders from this breed is rather hard. We're are you from? My breeder is a chilean/mexican association, so meanwhile you are in america it could work for you

Basenjis are not a breed for the faint of heart, please don’t get this dog as a whim they difficult train. Basenjis are not mute, they can crow, howl and scream. I’ve owned basenjis for 30+ years. Most of the pictures featured are owned by American breeders. Please contact the Basenji Club of America and Basenji Rescue and Transport for information about this breed.
Please,please,please dont get a Basenji if you are not prepared for the amout of time and patients needed this dog breed is not for first time dog owners do Your research and go and meet the breed before you get one

My Charlie is a mix between besenji/miniature poodle/ and Yorkie/,and shi-tsu and has that famous curly tail. He is also allergy friendly :)

The computer voice with it's many mispronunciations is the problem. It is hard to follow with the very awkward style of speaking.

Hi my Basenji was exactly the same for the first 6 months it does get easier and its well worth it you will get so much love back plus a best friend
