I have heard of it before. Just got to see it through your videos. Thanks for showing us around. Nice to see them disconnecting from technology and living a peaceful live. Their produces are so fresh and always tastes well than regular produce stores. But, since you are gardening so well, you are eating fresh garden to table stuffs, so you might already have such experience. Hope you all enjoyed the overall experience as well.

The Amish are an interesting group of people for sure, rooted in deep Christian traditional past, with the belief that God has a personal and abiding interest in their lives, families and communities. In Canada too we have Amish areas, where they travel in buggies and we see signs asking car traffic to watch out for them. The US has about 394,000 Amish and Canada about 6000. The ancestors of the Amish originated from Zurich, Switzerland, and spread to other parts of Europe mainly Germany. Many Amish groups emigrated to North America between the 18th and 19th centuries. In Pennsylvania, you have the Amish and the Pennsylvania Dutch (mostly of German origin and nothing to do with the Dutch). The Pennsylvania Dutch are Amish, Mennonite or Brethren. I learned about them in American history when I was in school and find them really fascinating. Interesting fact: Anabaptist's believe that baptism is valid only when the candidate confesses his or her faith in Christ and wants to be baptized. The Amish, Hutterites, and Mennonites are direct descendants of the early Anabaptist movement. They left Germany for North American when the law was changed so that babies could be baptized. The Amish believe in adult baptism, so when an Amish girl or boy is between the ages of 18 and 21, they can decide if they want to be baptized Amish, or leave the community and live a more modern lifestyle. 80% decide to stay Amish. So happy to see your video. We visited another Amish village in Lancaster, Pennsylvania where a lot of Amish people live. Very similar to your visit, but I don't remember seeing a store there. Nice to see the one that you visited. Thank you for sharing your experience.
