I have almost 1000 hours on this game and I never knew you could save Gareth's parents! Gotta love a game that can still gave you new things to discover after all this time.
The Bridge battle with Voidwaken and the Pruitt woman is typically everyone's first major stop in Act 2 because of its location and level, but it also happens right below Stonegarden, which can coax the player to going up there before ever going to see the Gareth and Jonathon encounter. The issue here is that the game treats entering Stonegarden as if you entered Meadows or whatever it's called, and therefore locks in the "player did not confront Jonathon" path of the Gareth questline, thus why so many people never knew there was an alternative, and also why so many people to this day still quite mistakenly believe that it's "on a timer." It is not on a timer. No quest in this game is on a timer. The Gareth thing is just lazily designed and Stonegarden triggers it to lock an optional path before you ever knew about. Which it really shouldn't be doing since Stonegarden is NOT the area in where that all takes place. My advice to people who want to make sure they get the "Johnathon Encounter/Parents Saved" path is to avoid Stonegarden until you've done the Gareth/Jonathon thing.
I imagine Stonegarden locks the Gareth/Jonathan encounter because technically that is the path that you would normally follow to reach Paradise Downs and the Black Pits.
I literally never knew about #8, so thank you. I swear I always feel like I'm missing something when I play this game, because I'll get to a certain point where I'm just suddenly underleveled, and it's like, "Wait, I did the other area before this, why do I not have as much XP as I usually do?"
For some reason, the armor is bugged for me. I can't get the set bonus when I unequipped it. I still don't know how to fix it despite blessing it over and over again.
You can get Bow with permanent 'Evasive buff' passive from Lizard Assasin near The Graveyard by sneak then steal it. (aka Red Prince ambush event and only trigger if Red Prince is in party)
For the Scion fight the rest of your party does not need to cast Spirit Vision after the first one does. Just have your second member (if playing 2 LW) or one of your linked 3 (if playing "normal) use the altar in the middle.
Besides the lvl14 chest armor, 'Emarch' that the vendor sells on blood moon island, there's the chest armour in paradise downs with +3 memory and +3 con that sets grounded status. It's called "Antique armor" maybe? Lvl 14 i think, strength based. Papa thrash the trader in the black bull inn got a finesse based chest armor for sale. Might only be lvl 9 tho. The trader in the main square got a shield, only lvl 9 too i think. If you trigger the heroes quest in the graveyard you'll get locations for 4 armour pieces. Those are high lvl. A +2 finesse belt. A +1 pyro boot. +1 warfare helmet. ...what else... Go below the fighting arena and the treasure chests might have high lvl loot. The cliff caves got a shield in them somewhere. The guy trapped in his house near the mines with the decay sword also has a lvl 14 paladin shield with him. Of course get the ancient relic in the mines and combine it with your belt for +1str and +1war. Or combine with helmet for +2 finesse and +1 hunt. Get all the honey near town and make charm grenades, the drug addicts below the black bull inn sell the heart containers forthe honey. Kill chickens to make 1AP chicken scrolls. What else... The seed armor from the gift bag dlc can be tricky. Depends what you did in act 1. I usually kill the elf lady in act 1 and use her +1 geo boots. Then in act 2 i find the other pieces over by the mines. But it's a hard fight for lvl 9. You can persuade them tho i think. There's probably more over leveled gear you can get just from sneaking around reapers coast. If you use single hand you can boost your accuracy and try some of the over leveled weapons. Peace of mind also boosts accuracy 20% and bless boosts it. And poison runes in your amulet too. And the gift bag has a 100%accuracy 0%crit mod. Well, good luck
@@Lebensmude haha. More videos! I'm trying the worstbuild ever currently. I'm actually trying to do magic and physical damage at the same time. Such a bad idea. Haha! Personally, I think it's better to kill the elf Dayana in Act 2, otherwise the Contamination boots and grieves version you get are very underleveled and with less attribute boosts. Instead of a set of boots that only provide +1 Geo you will get a level 14 boots that provide you +2 Geo and +1 Hydro (iirc). Defeating Dayana near the elven camp in Act 2 will provide you with a set in level 14 (only missing the helm) and that will be enough for you to wait until Act 4 (still wearing the armor, especially if you are a shield user, you are already using constitution after all), get the helmet from the Paladin to complete the set and upgrade the armor to level 19. If you kill Dayana in Act 1, you'll be stuck with a set of boots and grieves with a very low level and with poor attribute boosts (like +1 Geo).
I have always used mass corpse explosion to kill Alice. Typically I'd fight with Hannag and allow her to summon in all of her void friends, and teleport their corpses down to where Alice is roaming her pentagram one by one. 8 or 9 corpses kills her without even needing to fight, it's super funny. I love this game, doing a playthrough with 2 of my buddies and I just hit 500+ hours on steam :P Seems like every playthrough I learn about something new.

My take on Alice is always face her head on, with proper preparation, of course. I find tp her to Jahan very boring, so I want to always kill her with the builds I planned for the run.
The best tip in DOS2 is exploiting the turn order when leaving/entering combat. Pick fights next to anything that changes the area, such as a door, ladder, trapdoor etc. Since you always enter combat as the last in the queue, by having one player start the combat and go invisible then delay the next turn, you can continue to bring others in and out and take turns indefinitely without the enemies ever getting another turn. A good example of this is on the ship after Act 1 when Dalis attacks, you can use the trapdoor to indefinitely take turns and kill every enemy without them taking another turn.

The set is always going to be level 14 when you craft it. The sooner you craft it, the better it will be for your character using it since armor does not have negative bonuses for being below the item level. I like to craft it ASAP when I enter act 2.
You can just teleport Gwydian to a place where neither you or he can be seen by the Magisters, in which case the fight doesn't trigger and he simply runs off to safety. Then you can go and kill the Magisters outside the Blackpits cave.
Any Odinblade mods are fun. BonusUniques is a good one to add some new items around the game that are interesting to play with and hunt for. If you’re looking to change up how the game plays, you can do Divinity Unleashed.
I see. As anyone would probably recommend, I’d say try reinstalling them first and if that doesn’t work try reinstalling the game. Could be some sort of disconnect in there, but that’s a common first step in troubleshooting.
What if I am under leveled? I feel like I did all I can but my party is early level 13 and ive cleared the pits. So the next step is fighting the level 14 characters.
Just make sure you’ve done as much exploring as you can in the lower level areas, like Stonegarden. Clear your journal from lower level quests and complete those. Fighting enemies that are just one level above isn’t a big deal, but make sure you are prepared.
@@Lebensmude that's very ironic the way the devs did it then 😂 you essentially gotta let them die, dig their graves and be rewarded with a thievery dagger

Yeah, act 4 can be rough for some. You’ve gotta go through and do side quests throughout the game to make sure you’re up to par before the final fight.
Act 2 is the biggest act in the game, so it will definitely take some time. Take the game at your own pace, explore, enjoy yourself. No need to rush it and there is no typical timing for it. In my playthroughs, if I aim to nearly 100% Act 1, then it takes me about 7-9 hours to clear, but that’s knowing everything I need to do.
The first time I ever played this, I put around 60 hours into act 1. Once I got to this area (act 2) my jaw dropped realizing that I was still just getting started. There is so much to do in this game it’s insane

If you let Gareth's parents live, do you lose out on the thievery dagger?
Yes, the dagger only spawns if his parents are killed.
@@Lebensmude that's very ironic the way the devs did it then 😂 you essentially gotta let them die, dig their graves and be rewarded with a thievery dagger
Oh yeah. Donate 500 gold to the fish vendor for 100% positive attitude and cheaper prices. Then always sell him your unwanted wares.
If you sell to your good vendors it clutters up their inventory.
thanks heaps dude
You are very welcome.
And I thought I was being clever stun locking Alice to death with melee characters 😭
good video, but we need captions if possible
I believe TH-cam auto-adds captions after a day or two.
What specifically are you looking for?
Is there an act 3 video :)
There is.
15 + 10 ACT 3 TIPS AND TRICKS | DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2

This is the best game
oil infusion and blood infusion doesnt work o Dos2 DE without mods
You are correct.
Realized after I had already made the vid. Apologies.
I finished this game with 72h more think of a difficult game for beginners I played in tactical mode (and the average level?).. anyway the worst chapter for me was 5 I got there lvl18 with all the enemies lvl20, when I got to the final fight I almost gave up playing
Yeah, act 4 can be rough for some. You’ve gotta go through and do side quests throughout the game to make sure you’re up to par before the final fight.
Or just kill Duna and then bless the feathers yourself to makethe armour
You can, but it’s almost never worth it simply because of the negligible XP and trouble of defeating her.
Alice totally nightmare.. JOHAN travel ēd to Ship...
Duna undertaker attack me what ever i say
If i dont come watch your video, who will?
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”
New player here. It took me 30+ hours just to finish Act 1, is that normal? Looking at this map 0:36, I wonder how long will that take, holy.
There is so much to do in this game it’s insane
it took me 50 + hours to get out of fort joy
