    This video was so insanely helpful! I’m a casual gamer and artist and I’ve been struggling to decide what type of computer to get. My desk is tiny, too! But I also already own an iPad so I think desktop is the way to go for me.

      So many options and ability to customize with a desktop PC. Especially with the mini-PC technology improvements, it makes it less space consuming with good gaming experiences. Minisforum UM790, BeeLink GTR7, and the Geekom IT13 are great. The last one strictly for work, but you can connect it to a Nvidia RTX 4060 graphics card for gaming. Nvidia RTX 4060 had a huge price drop to $330.

    I have a laptop for work. I can carry it around all day, and when I return to my desk I hook it up to a usb-c dock which is connected to a big monitor, mouse, full keyboard, charger. For personal computer, I have a mac mini at home.

    I’ve always been a desktop guy but I’ve lately become obsessed with having my family photos and videos with me all the time I.e while away from home or even just being sat on the couch and being able to look at videos of my kid etc. the only problem for me is I want a 4TB ssd which requires a second mortgage

    • @mearetom
      @mearetom ปีที่แล้ว

      Let me stop you right there, it's far better to use a HDD for large storage, if it is only meant for storing files then its cheaper option. SSDs should be used for system files and program files to ensure you get faster access to them. Just only saying that you should use HDD if you are storing files that don't get accessed more often.

    If you only have one computer. Laptop is the way to go. If you have more than 1, then 1 laptop and 1 desktop.

    • @TausifHussain
      @TausifHussain  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried the 1 laptop and 1 desktop and it created unnecessary hassle and redundancy for me. I’d have to keep transferring files between the two and sometimes I’d be home and the desktop would have some files I’d need etc. got pretty annoying. But yeah iffff you need the power, desktops are great!

    • @super_hero2
      @super_hero2 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TausifHussain You can use NAS if your workflow is shared between the 2 computers, if you have separate workflow then there is no problem. You can just use 1 laptop as well but keep in mind laptops are not made for intensive, prolong workflow. For example gaming and livestream 8 hour/day will destroy the battery in a couple years and there is a risk that other components will fail too.

    For a medical student who already have a M1 MBP. What do you recommend, just buy an external monitor or sell the MBP and buy an iMac 24" + iPad Pro 12.9 (I'm looking for an iPad even with the MBP anyway)? Money wise.

    • @adisoncardoso
      @adisoncardoso 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd look into buying the iPad and using Sidecar to hook it up as a second display. you probably don't need to spend the money on an external monitor that way, and keeping the MBP whilst having an iPad gets you full mobility with enough power to spare.

    • @adisoncardoso
      @adisoncardoso 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      of course, if screen real estate is bothering you, then it's a different conversation. but I'd say that using the iPad will offload a lot of what would be on your MBP screen anyway; you can do handwritten note taking whilst having a lecture up on the MBP screen, etc. maybe that could work well for you.

    Warping and scaling issues? Not when I use my MBP with the Apple Studio Display. I DO worry a little bit about the effect of keeping the MBP plugged in all the time on battery longevity. But I use Apple’s battery optimization setting. And I plan on renewing AppleCare for the life of my MBP, making the battery life AAPL’s problem.

    • @TausifHussain
      @TausifHussain  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s what I said in the video. It’s much better now with the new apple display and MacBooks! Previously I would have issues here and there. Also yeah battery is something to consider but doesn’t matter to me much really.

    Best practices:
    - Desktop PC is best for those that get to work from home for powerful performance, better screens, and far more customization.
    - Laptops for those on the go, especially business travelers/college students/people with annoying family.
    Both can be done, but it can get expensive in 1 year. Stretching it out over 2-3 years is better.
