I love how concentrated Paul looks when he is trying to figure out what word his partner is trying to say and how he looks when he got the word right at the first try
Marjorie Lord was one of the most beautiful woman ever filmed. She was in her mid-forties when she appeared on this show and her beauty was undiminished.
It wouldn't be the same, there is NO host like Allen Lunden. Nobody in Hollywood uses manners. And there would be cussing everywhere. With sexual indeuos.
I'd have to say out of all the celebrities that have played this game, I'd rate Mr. Anka as probably the best. Gives great clues, great answers, doesn't use gestures, remains cool, doesn't fondle the women, doesn't do silly dumb jokes, doesn't smoke, mature.
I love how Allen sometimes says “Noo-o” in a sing-song kind of way after a contestant wrongfully guesses a word; implying that it was a rather misjudged response to the clue.
Paul did many Password shows. He was really good at that game. I always liked that show. From what Allen said, it seems as though Paul had probably replaced Steve Lawrence in the Broadway show "What Makes Sammy Run?" Unless he played another character in that show. I remember when it was on Broadway. But unfortunately I never got to see that show. I bet Paul was great in that show. 😁😀🤓😎❤
14:04 Marjorie and her partner shakes hands. The boy is holding his both hands on Marjorie 18:54 Marjorie ignored her partner by facing the other side. The man tried to shake hands with her but SHE REJECTED him... What a wuss! While Paul Anka is ever a GENTLEMAN ❤️

Marjorie got rid of the huge hair she wore in "The Danny Thomas Show." 1:45 An odd dubbed voice of Allen Ludden that was obviously done in post production. He must have forgotten to give the name of the play when the show was recorded.
DTB1997 I do remember in an episode from this past week I believe where they had "present" as the password and gave both pronunciations. (To give a speech or a gift)
@@lynnturman8157 yes, there is always the possibility that someone would answer with sesame instead of close. A lot of it would have to do with the subtle head movements and intention of the clue giver. But they might still answer "sesame" :-)

Where, oh where, did they get the contestants on this episode? 🙃 Did the show staff randomly pick people from the audience by ticket stub numbers? Did any of these folks take a mini-test before being picked? Absolutely goofy answers from many of them both in the regular and the Lightning Rounds. Good thing about this episode is that Marjorie Lord is/was easy on the eyes and had a good attitude. He is dead now but if A.L. was still alive, I'd write the "Password" program a letter and tell A.L. to quit SHOUTING in the celebs ears when the answer was correct. { He did this on an episode I just watched with Edie Ghorme ( spelling?). She jumped each time he did that. } What an annoying host. The dinger bell was enough. argh! 🤥
Wedrowny GrajeK he didn't cheat if he would have said chat again when asked what he said Allen would have said that that was a form of the word and given him one chance to give the exact word which he knew so he said chatter
@@WedrownyGrajek You are correct in the strictly literal sense, but Paul knew the game quite well, and answered what he knew Allen would ask- and did so in a charming way. In light of how the game actually works he certainly was not cheating
Wow! Paul Anka is not only talented, he's ADORABLE too!
Is he still alive in 2021? I hope so...

We are all here fangirling over Paul Anka 🤪
Ngl that's why I'm watching. I mean look at him lol.
Paul Anka, next to Betty White, was the best Password player EVER!

I looked up Marjorie and she is the mother of Ann Archer, one of my favorites.
Margorie was blown away by Paul Anka
I couldn't believe how badly she messed up that last lightning round.

What a b-aach !
Her behavior was questionable at best...
She didn't shake hands with the second contestant either.
Not impressed with Ms. Lord.
I love Marjorie's hairstyle here...she was beautiful!!
Paul has to be my favorite player of all.
If he stared at me like that I would melt in my chair lol
I’d like to see a video of just Paul Anka’s Lightning Rounds …
Paul Anka was in my scrapbook when I was a teen in the 60s.
Let him out.
He was so dreamy! And a great Password player too!
This version of Password is my fave. I watched it as a kid. I liked the soft whispery voice saying the word, and always liked the emcee of this.
Paul Anka was very sharp…..and so was Margery Lord!
Saw Paul in Toronto, he was chatting up the ladies big-time
Marjorie got rid of the huge hair she wore in "The Danny Thomas Show."

OMG Marjorie denied her 3rd parteners handshake, it was so awkwarddddd

The third contestant wanted to shake Majorie's hand when he got up to leave. Did anyone notice how she refused? (18:57)
Yeah, I noticed. Very rude.
She is so elegant.
3:44 the way Paul got scared by the hooman beside him touches him lol
Charming..bravo ❤
Marjorie Lord was a total knockout. No surprise her daughter Anne Archer also a beauty
She resembles Anne here.
Marjorie was really really pretty!
At 9:55, that might be the first time I've ever heard Jack Clark give two versions of the same password before. Am I wrong?
DTB1997 I do remember in an episode from this past week I believe where they had "present" as the password and gave both pronunciations. (To give a speech or a gift)
That happened a few times
Marriage could of shook peoples hands. That was rude .
6:51 his face of disappointment ha!
I thought Paul and the "chatter" girl made a lovely couple, they were so alike.
Respectfully to Majorie Lord, Anka would have cinched that last lightning round (very possibly in under 30 seconds).

Paul Anka what a cutie patootie
Marjorie Lord looks like Ann Bancroft here.
Paul is from Canada. He was on my wall

sesame

Hard to believe how teenagers dressed in those days; they look like adults.
$50 dollars back then would have paid for a great meal for two at a high end restaurant!
