The first time I heard TNT, and saw the gorgeous guys with the long hair (I was only 18) I was an instant fan! Tony’s voice-one of the best ever. Ronnie was so much fun to watch play his machine gun style, and Morty! Woo Hoo! This young girl was in heaven! I am now 55 and I still watch old videos and watch in awe!

Great interview with Tony! I still recall the first time I heard Seven Seas and it blew my mind! Glad to hear he gave props to his initial start with the Philly/Jersey band (Whitefoxx I think) where he got his initial pro start.

Hearing Tony Harnell speak rather than sing was truly a first on your cast and man.,not only a great interview but a great insight to one of the finest rock vocalists, which sadly was never really heard.

He's just a real regular dude, who had a cool upbringing, then one of his many talents brought him around the world with awesome music. Great interview, really enjoyed it

By far, my favorite vocalist from the 80's. Also, IMO, one of the best bands of the 80's as well.

I heard "Knights Of The New Thunder" in '85 or '86. Then "Tell No Tales" & "Intuition". Saw them in '89 at Rock Palace in Hollywood.
As of recently, I started going back & listening to TNT again & watching them touring these days. Tony's voice still sounds great at 62.
They should have be bigger. Doc McGee was managing them in the '80s

The only reasons why I discovered TNT was that I went through my brothers music albums.

I wonder if Tony skated at the Boogie Bowl which was technically was located in Glendale situated between La Canada, La Crescenta, Sunland~Tujunga and Montrose communities on Foothill Blvd.
It was the spot to go to and one of the first of its kind from 1977-1981.

Joe, do you know if Tony speaks Norwegian? Or did the rest of the band members speak English? Just curious.

I’m not sure if Tony speaks Norwegian but I’m pretty sure the other guys speak English. Not 100% sure.

Would be interesting to hear him talk about their live shows and the use of backing vocal tracks they used for harmonies and bg vocals. Seems like they were one of the first bands doing that, especially in the 80's.

yes! good point! I saw them at a tiny venue in KC and the vocals were piped in.
