In this clip, DJ Akademiks discusses an incident between him and SZA. Akademiks claims that SZA took offense at comments he made on a livestream prior to interviewing her on his show ‘Everyday Struggle’ in 2017. Even though Akademiks claims these were not his personal opinions but comments from his audience, SZA was apparently upset about it. Subsequently, Akademiks was asked to apologize on his platform, but he resisted. This led to SZA blocking him, sparking a long-standing grudge. Akademiks got back on his platform and commented on a post-surgery photo she had posted, igniting the feud once again. Akademiks claimed that his words were misinterpreted and he had no intention to offend SZA. However, following this incident, Akademiks decided to stop tiptoeing around potential offenses in his future broadcasts.
