I respect Joseph Plunkett for what makes him who he was and loved his song from his heart to Grace Gifford ❤

Nice, Grace is my Great Aunt. Her sister Muriel married another leader in 1916 Thomas MacDonagh. Tragic stories but we persist in pride!

I’ve just finished Honors’ book 16 lives, Joseph Mary Plunkett, it gives an all round perspective of Joseph’s life and of his comrades leading up to the Easter rising, he was a beautiful, brave, intelligent, sensitive freedom fighter,, my lovely rebel granddaughter is reading it now, may god bless all our freedom fighters past and present, all we wanted was freedom.☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪

Met Honor briefly in 1916 at Dublin Castle, great lady. I’d love to chat and pick her brain!

If you take a trip through world history from about the time of Edward 1, you will see the dirty feet of english imperialism is everywhere, even to this day it still has its affect on all of us, but closer to home we can see its affects on the scots, the irish, and the welsh all dating back to Edward 1.
Edward waged war against the other three because he wanted to lord over them, he had no right to be in any of those lands and the children of those lands to this very day are not taught about english imperialism, its all glorious this and glorious that, but never about the bloodshed suffered all over the world by a power that thought it had the right to rule anywhere it saw fit, did you know that the scottish parliament allways has a vote against going to war, even though the UK government has the voting power to take us into wars we don't want, imagine scotland and all the other home countries had been independent, not one soldier from any of these countries would have died in any wars voted for by the UK government, Its all down to the imperialistic attitude of the people that rule us from London, imagine if there had been a united ireland in 1915 there would have been no need for any of those men to be in the GPO that day,
I think those men where foolish to do what they did, they could not win as they damn well new, but would I ever condemn them for doing it, not a snowballs chance in hell of that ever happening, because I would have been there beside them if it was my country .
We where butchered by the imperialists for centuries, my people where even cleared out of their homes to make way for sheep, all we have to do now is put a small X on a piece of paper to get our freedom and we still have people who will not even do that, they accept the lies and the words of the doom merchants employed by the forces of darkness to keep them enslaved in a one sided political union.
Come on Scotland, we are nearly there at last and I hope to live long enough to celebrate our freedom
