I was a 14 year old little shit when I bought soulside journey in 1991 and it has been one of my favorite metal albums since. Fenriz was like the Neil Peart of death metal drumming during this period. Very creative beats and the riffs were so dark and haunting. Soulside is still my favorite darkthrone album. i wonder if people (metal heads that is) know how extraordinary this tape is. Obviously many do, but..... I am speechless. This is fucking outstanding. The exceptional thing about this tape apart that these are 17-19 years old boys writing and performing this music, is that my dearest Gylve is playing live, but also Ivar Enger aka Zephyrous, who people havent seen, more or less, for over 20 years. I am an 48 year old woman who has been into this stuff for a looooong time so I should know what Iam saying. There is no denying that Gylve Fenriz is a genius, and thats the reason why he is my alltime favorite with Pelle Ohlin as well (R.I.P). I am a black metal person but this is just sooo good. I actually get stomach pain when i see Gylve there.

Very talented, I really enjoy their early death metal sound, it must be disheartening sometimes for the "new old school death metal" bands that are popular at the moment, to know deep down it was mastered back in 1990.

I wish they would have continued this setup as well as what DarkThrone became, as a Death Metal side project.
I remember I learned all their songs on guitar one summer, my band used to play some of their songs as warmup before practice ;)
One odd thing: my tape has a better picture quality, but the sound here is better? But I don't have that hiss on my tape, which is strange.
I can't remember if this was broadcast locally and I taped it off that broadcast? It was 26 years ago....I still have all Bootleg concerts that were taped back in those days.
Come to think of it, I have many on DAT as well. Dunno why these haven't slightly tweaked/remastered and released yet?
