This song's message is powerful, reminding us all of the impact we can have. What other inspirational performances should we react to? Let us know in the comments! 👇
Let’s keep striving for a better world together!
Loving what you've said. Freddie put it even more powerfully in one of his last recordings, Innuendo, voicing his frustration and, basically, the question of why?
There is a Queen Christmas Song you should React to nearer Christmas. Even the words still apply to today. It's, 'Queen - Thank God It's Christmas (Official Lyric Video)'.🎄🎄
Us And Them Pink Floyd.
I’m old enough to remember when Live Aid was broadcast. It sounds silly now, in our world with the internet, but it was such a big deal from a technological point of view at the time. I was 18 and remember it, almost as if it were yesterday. Freddie Mercury is so charismatic and full of talent. Sadly missed!
One of the shortest but most powerful truthful songs ever written……
There was one last final bit of Freddie at Live Aid beyond this! At the very end of the concert, many of the stars who had performed during the whole day came on stage together to sing the Band Aid charity single Do They Know It's Christmas (Feed The World), including Freddie Mercury. So if you want to watch that, you will briefly see him singing a few words of that song amongst the huge array of stars on stage. It's chaotic and unrehearsed, but wonderful.
I wasn't there, but DID watch it live on TV (I'm 72 and a half).
I see that the concert tickets were just 5GBP (+20 donation for the charity).
Bit of a bargain. Queen did their set for free. Those were the days!
I'd just like to say thank you for this video . I was 15 when I went to live aid and seeing this again gave me chills . For some reason everybody seems to forget that performance of Freddie and Brian. So from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU 😂❤
Our pleasure friend. We wouldn't have known about it if so many people didn't comment and let us know about it. We're glad they did
@darrenstone. Have to ask as similar age to you how did you get to the bathroom, as such a long day, imo?
@@RNTV I would also recommend Pink Floyd's Us And Them if you haven't done it already. Similar theme.
People forget this because Freddie had came out as aids at the time, queen were good, but they wasnt legends at this point... Freddie had to die before queen became what we know now, he was slaughtered for this performance, all because he was dying... Us Brits doing what we always do, someone blessed and great. We tear down
I've been a lifelong Queen fan since I saw Killer Queen on Top of the Pops in 1974. Please watch Freddie sing "You take my beath away" at Hyde Park 1976. I've never made a request to anyone before. I respect you both so much - I'd like you to witness the most incredible love song sung by Freddie. It's absolutely stunning.
@AdrianIDonnell9 The exact same for me - that's also when I fell hopelessly in love with Freddie. And YES!! Please react to "You Take My Breath Away" live at Hyde Park in 1976. In my opinion Freddie's most beautiful vocal of all time. I have an alternative take on the lyrics by the way🥰
And we were so captivated by his passion, his incredible piano playing, his gorgeous voice and his presence.
Thank you so much for reacting to this beautiful and impactful song - many reactors miss this part of Live Aid. Your commentary was spot on. Queen was not known for "in your face" songs about war, atrocities, discrimination, etc. Yet, they placed little messages of peace and love for fellow inhabitants of this earth within many of their songs. Bob Geldof - who originated the idea for Live Aid - knew this song and asked Brian and Freddie to perform it as a fitting end to this massive concert. Brian's playing of 12-string acoustic guitar is a perfect accompaniment to Freddie's incredibly powerful voice. Thanks again for your reaction.
This is one of my favourite Queen songs, despite being so short and succinct.
✌️💙🏴🇬🇧
Freddie was Heaven Sent... Your reaction to this AMAZING song is so Powerful.... The world needs more people like both of you
They used to always do some ballads alone on stage, fantastic thank you. Have a look at "Love of my life" live, it's absolutely amazing!!! ❤️❤️👌🏻👌🏻
So sad that it as apt today as it was then. A beautiful song with such a powerful simple message. Great reaction and comments
You should watch and listen to about 70,000 Queen fans singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" word for word while waiting for Queen to appear at a concert in England in the early 1980's - it will literally blow your minds away !
Brian May is fantastic too.
Short but with deep and powerful meaning. An eye opener which is still happening until this day. Love this song. You can always feel how the fans/ audience love Queen. Hope you do reaction video of Under Pressure and Love of my Life at Wembley and White Queen at Hammersmith Odeon 1975. Freddie is the greatest front man of all time. Nothing compares! Thank you very much for your great reaction.
So fitting considering what's going on in this broken world at the moment 😢
The lyrics alone are worth reading stand alone. Very spiritual. Especially given why Live Aid happened:
Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need
Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created
You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere, a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by
Oh-oh, is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated, right to the bone?
If there's a God in the sky, looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that He created?
Beautiful song. Thoughtful review!
Lovely words at the end. Feel the same
I love that they said "we" stating that we are all responsiblity is great. A shared guilt.
Liar from the Rainbow London 1974 has to be seen. Every member has a solo, its hard to believe this was from the 1st album. Written by Freddie long before Queen formed.
Blessings from England xx
Freddie was a huge fan of Norman Wisdom, who was a well loved British comedian here in the UK, and Freddie would often mimic him when he was on stage, as he did at the beginning of this video,
Since you are listening to Queen, it’s that time of year to listen to ,” A Winter’sTale” . Give it a whirl, “ It’s Bliss”
Thanks for some great reactions from the UK.
Thank you and I think you will love another song very like this call time waits for nobody it's very relevant for today in them days it's all about uniting people where is nowadays it's all about dividing and labeling.
Thank you for your reaction..I was at this concert and yes I love Freddie to..Still missing you darling 😢 💔 🏴 🇬🇧
You are so right Mike, we do change for a short time, even though we have the best of intentions, but we all too easily, slip back into our old ways. You only need to think of the "Be Kind" movement, then take a look at some of the comments on social media to see how quickly we forget. Its very sad.
This song is still so relevant today, maybe even more so! Thank you for going back and finishing the whole performance with this meaningful song.
More so because nearly 40 years on we still haven't learned any lessons. I suspect that it is beyond human capacity to learn the lessons we need to learn to save ourselves.
Jess is so correct. Something like this song can make you stop, change. I watched, livestreamed on TV, probably 90% of this concert, I even taped it (yes VHS tapes). It was probably this song, plus the harrowing video footage they showed between bands, that had a major impact on me at that time and it did change my perspective permanently. The next time the Bank opened I went in there and donated half of my weekly wage to Live Aid. I was a single father and did not earn a lot but I gave the most that I could at that time. It did change a lot of my attitudes, but just like Jess said, within months "life" had got in the way and I was worrying about other things. Ethiopia was a long way away and fell out of my consciousness, I admit. But I do believe that the Concert did shape me for the future, sadly it also made me over the years at the same time become more of a sceptic. In 1985 after this concert I was full of hope. Now, so many years later I actually feel more sceptical and a bit disillusioned. Nothing has changed, greed is just as bad now, Politicians still lie to us, the god is now profit, man still kills others with no thought. I despair that humans will ever evolve into something better. The difference is that since 1985, I now see the truth of it
Thank you for reaching to this your so right the world today is a sad and scary place I’m sure Freddie would be appalled he strove for love and peace in the world x x
hi guys brilliant at last somebody to react to this video, great and emotional reaction loved it .😍
Grazie per aver trasmesso questa canzone che tanti dimenticano,ma è un gioiello non solo per il testo ma perché la canta il nostro amatissimo Freddie.....😢
Guys, You should watch the queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. It’s a phenomenal film and it gives a really good account of how the band got together, how they created some of the songs and also more about Freddie’s personal life. Maybe a reaction to the film would be a nice idea? Love your reactions, you are by far my favourite reactors and I look forward to them every day. Much love from over here in England 😊
As a Queen fan of over 35 years and first seeing them at Live Aid 1985 and twice the following year at Wembley (July/August 1986) I only stomached the biopic film once as most of the story line has been advanced/made up for a better and greater story line, for example it gives the impression that Freddie knew that he had AIDS before going on stage for Live Aid, however he didn't. He didn't found out he had AIDS until Easter/June time in 1987. However, at the Magic Tour in 1986 (to which I attended) he had suspicions as the tour had its toll on his body and that is when he told his other band mates that he couldn't go on doing live tours, every part of his body was aching by this time as obviously part of the HATED disease it severely attacks your immuno-system. Also, it stated that Freddie left the band first to go on do his own music, however Roger had already done and recorded some of his own stuff. It's just all been enhanced/changed obviously for a better story line and a box office hit. Stay safe from Manchester UK
Peter Gabriel- In Your Eyes (SECRET WORLD LIVE)
It was always a pretty song and, as you mentioned, lyrically appropriate for Live Aid. That said, my preferred performance was at Wembley 86. Freddie and Brian play it alongside Love Of My Life. To be honest, the whole Wembley 86 gig is amazing and well worth a watch.
Nearly 40 years old. And the world 🌍 has got worse. Not better. Tells you everything about the the different eras we were brought up in.
The man had some pipes
This is one of my favorite Queen songs ever, so short, but yet so impactful! Sometimes it’s hard to hear the truth, but we need to be reminded from time to time! Another of these powerful songs that only a few know of, although it’s quite a bit longer than this one, is „Don’t drop that bomb on me“ from Bryan Adams. He cries out everything that bothers him in that song, he was never THAT aggressive in a song before that and you can’t also hear it in the guitar especially as well. A great song which is the final song of that masterpiece album „Waking up the neighbors“ from 1991!
This wasn't written for this event, both Freddie and Sir Brian wrote it a couple of years beforehand and would play it in the live concerts, normally back to back with Love Of My Life
I heard that Queen weren’t even scheduled to play they turned up on the day and they had to fit them in. Thank god they did
One person here has mentioned “Love of my life” a real masterpiece and the audience involvement is great. Freddie joked that this song had the largest number of people participating in a duet.
@markwakefield8533 they were a last minute act as they were all doing their own thing, tickets had already been sold before they were even announced, however it was Sir Bob Geldof who would tell each act he knew that so and so were playing, even though he hadn't actually asked whoever yet. Queen went into rehearsals for a week before and Ratty bought some plastic clocks so they could time everything down to the second, so absolutely everything you see has been timed too get everything right
@@markwakefield8533 all the songs were for the audience to join in with which is how Sir Brian came up with We Will Rock You after a concert in the UK, the crowd were singing back to them and he thought what else could we give them and the rest is history
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you to the man on this. I needed to hear it today. Thank you.
Thanks for listening
love of my love is my fav you got to look at that the one in rio is so good.
An absolutely perfect performance from them both.
You two are so watchable that I hadn't really explored your setting - except to look outside, and for months I kept thinking, 'raining again', in America, and then my brain finally told me that, in fact, I had been looking at obscured glass in the top four segments. Anyhow great video again. Cheers ! Sheffield South Yorkshire.
John Farnham’s You’re the Voice, also has a powerful message but people have forgotten to listen to the lyrics.
Check out One Vision live at Wembley 86 👑
I loved this one.
I first saw Queen in in Dublin 1979, and as it was probably my first major arena concert I was totally blown away, and especially left in total awe as all the lights which there were a lot of all started moving and lowering themselves down at an angle which left them facing the audience and what looked like inches from Roger Taylor's head during the final song of the show which was "We Are The Champions" was such a trip. I was in a trance as it looked like a spaceship landing. I was then lucky enough to then meet Brian & Freddie very briefly at an after show party in London 1982. I literally grew up with Queen in my life, and watching you guys react in the way that you do to Queen considering you weren't even born when all these songs and Queen were known all around the world is very rewarding and emotional for me. You are unquestionably my favourite reactors.
Mike & Jess nice reaction, next stop when Freddie wrote opera, please react to Barcelona from album of same name the one to watch is Live at La Nit, be prepared to be gobsmacked by an out of this world performance live, thank you
so pleased you managed to find this, on most reactions to queens performance at live aid this is missing. This sums up for me what live aid was all about, great song ;)
More Queen/Freddie please! Here are some recommendations:

Great reaction guys 👍
I loved this song the first time I heard it on the Album The Works.
With the sentiments in the song I feel it would have made a nice Christmas single. Maybe it being quite short in length (around two minutes) it wasn’t long enough to be a single.
We all need to check our humanity from time to time. One song that hits me every time I hear it is from the British band 'The Levellers' and their 2018 song 'Shame', the visuals and the words make me question who we are as a species and wonder if we've taken the wrong turn somewhere. I hope you get the chance to hear it.
Great video as always. Regarding your "what will it take" questions/comments, I think there is hope. I see it in people's reactions to the war in Ukraine, the fighting in the Middle East, even in the campaigning for the presidential election. "We the people", across the world, are starting to make it clear that enough is enough. The politicians and oligarchs have had their day, or at least, are in their last days. The people have decided. Change is coming.
It’s on the works album. Great song!
Don't know if you're aware of it but they all did a Christmas song. Maybe you could react to that in December? Band Aid, Do they know it's Christmas.
We need more comedy reactions.
Yes complete 😊
This wasn’t the last song, it was really just a “filler” while the stage was being set for Paul McCartney’s set. Paul was the finale in London, apart from when they brought everyone back at the very end to sing “Feed the World”.
To change the world, it’s going to take the worldwide Warning from God, which He’s planning to reveal to us soon!
Romeo and Juliette by Dire Straits - do it please - jess will love it.
you guys not only missed one tbh. you guys missed too many queen's songs with beautiful and meaningful lyrics about this life vs the world. please more queen and pay attention to the llyrics. tq
This wasn't the final song of the 16 hour concert. That was Live Aids Feed The World
Would be awesome to see you guys react to JADE - angel of my dreams (S.A.D. Live version) she was in the British girl band "Little mix" and has recently ventured into solo music, this version of her first song is very beautiful and i think you guys would enjoy it!
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song by a beautiful artist. Thanks guys, as always. Can you please do a reaction to 1) Prejudice by Tim Minchin and 2)Russell Howard - Cancer funeral.
Our pleasure friend! Both added to our list!
❤️✌️❤️
I feel the same about people at Shitmas time. Everybody is so hustle-bustle and have no time for anyone who is struggling alone. Just ignoring us would be somewhat tolerable, but they don't. They actually rub it in your face! After last year i'm fed up with just taking and responding with the silent treatment. Every year prople have been getting worse with being so pretentious assuming that their fake platitudes are even appreciated let alone helpful. This year i an going to verbally berate anyone who wishes me merry xmas. "You don't want to soothe my pain, you don't want to do what would help me feel better - you just want to rub the worst day of the year in my face for the next 2 months!! F me or F off!!!"
😢
Estamos com saudades com suas reações ao Gabriel Henrique 🙏💗🎵🇧🇷
Hi Jess and Mike! Another excellent reaction- Thank You! Any idea when you will be reviewing my suggestion from 18th October ( remember: my birthday?)? Really excited to see how much you enjoy it!👍😊
Hello thank you for this reaction - please react to usa for africa - we are the world. Greetings from Hungary.
Maybe you could look at Keane, somewhere only we know. A big song here in England and always sung by the audience when they play live.
Dear Jess & Mike, please react to another beautiful ballard called ‘Love of my Life’, performed by Freddie & Brian once again. You should be able to find it under their concert at Wembley Stadium in 1986. You might need a Kleenex or 2. Love from England 🏴 ❤️🤗
Hi, try Freddie Mecury/Queen...... "You Take My Breath Away" ( Live from Hyde Park). Beautiful
They were not suppesed to sing it but there was a technical issue with the sound of the piano of Sir Paul McCartney so they bought some time for the crew to fix it.😊
She is 13 years old and is high because he has genes after his father and he is tall.
Hi Jess and Mike. Check out George Michael and Queen singing Somebody to Love at Freddie’s Tribute Concert. Enjoy. X
Boa Noite, meus queridos vocês não vão mais reagir ao Gabriel Henrique?
Sorry for being late, but sucking Freddie Mercury is a gifted a fucking God one of my favorite band ever Queen ever a poster of Freddie Mercury because I am obsession a Freddie Mercury
Machen Sie noch mehr Queen Songs?
Could you please review John Farnham with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra singing the Beatles Help. It is thought of the best version ever.
Have you considered John Lennon's "Imagine"?
Can you watch Brian May on the top of Buckingham Palace?
fantastic! you r now complete! good stuff👍
The live a wembley version is much better (audio & video) shame you didn't do that one first...also "love of my life" from Wembley is a similar type of song and and worth tagging onto world that we created too.
Ascolta freddy in Barcellona
It might be about us; but could equally be about a god who is confused by sexuality. Like give ppl free will and be confused by what they choose.
If only the people who run the world had ever actually listened to this kind of music and been touched by it, then maybe they would have decided to forgo their greed and power and invest in their fellow humanity instead. My guess is that they listen to classical music. Which is often wonderful, but has none of those disturbing words that illicit genuine human feeling and a sense of responsibility and respect.
That is not true, classical music has the same warnings. For example search for the aria “Un Di All’azzura Spazzio” - Franco Corelli with English subtitles. This aria/ song is very popular and it has the exact same theme of this Queen song. I would it is almost more emotional than the Queen song. The aria comes from the opera Andrea Chenier - a somewhat true story based on the poet Andrea Chenier, he was one of the last people who died in the French Revolution.
@@ZENOBlAmusic Wow! Thanks, Zenobia! Very informative.
Check video bowie cut his set for drive by the cars think it was a cbs or nbc video
