Another amazing tutorial! Hey this release date was right around the GW switch to a new shade formula. Is the Reikland Fleshshade you used the old or newer version? I want to use the correct one, as they are a bit different.
I honestly don't remember. It was most likely the old one as I only recently replaced my fleshshade bottle. I know that I have been using the new one on newer minis and haven't noticed much difference.
Other than the tactical rock that is part of the mini, the rocks are cork board. For the texture I use various texture pastes from Vallejo. As far as the colors, I pick a cheap brown hobby paint for the mud and a cheap grey for the stone. From there I throw agrax earthshade on the dirt and nuln oil on the stone. Dry brush the dirt with zandri dust and the stone with a random white paint.
@TheMiniatureManager appreciate it! Been following your videos for my CS polemarch and aristarch. Only thing I'm doing different is red cloak to be like 300!
@@DarthNethus I have been slowly switching to all light blue on my army. The green on the non-human units was fun but I like the look of the blue just a bit better. I would love to see some red CS. I bet they really draw attention to your matches.
@@TheMiniatureManager I really do love the box art blue! I typically follow the box art for painting stuff, but this was the first time I deviated. And check the Conquest subreddit! I posted them there just a few ago
Fantastic paint job and super helpful. I am working on him now and I am definittely using a lot of your techniques. Thank you!
Thank you. I really enjoyed this one. I am glad to hear you will be able to use some of the techniques I used.
Not sure I would’ve ever come up with jokero orange for the skin base. Nice model.
It was very much an experiment. I was curious to see if it would turn out.
Thank you for this! I was a bit too intimidated to start
I was exactly the same way at the beginning of this project. Large models like this can be hard to decide where to begin.

Love the basing! What colors or materials did you use for the stones and ground?
