From my experience of watching this, most of the brides that "aren't like other brides" and want "something different" end up with a bridal gown that looks like a normal bridal gown
She is very pretty girl and she would suit something more elaborate, but not tacky. I felt she needed couture feel to design with 3D skirt or details/texture. When I saw her chosen De La Renta gown, that was pretty much that, although I think she could do better, once she opted for designer range. She is the type that can pull off mix of Old Hollywood and regal. The one she chose was slightly underwhelming, IMHO.
Jackie did great to walk away from the appointment as none of the dresses fit her expectations. The Oscar De La Renta dress she chose for her wedding was absolutely stunning and one of a kind.
I found a photo of the wedding dress she chose & I absolutely love it! I know some people in the comments are saying that the style is old & that no one would want to wear it these days BUT that doesn't apply to vintage lovers like me. I think it's prettiest than all the dresses she tried on the show.
I think she should have had a custom "one of kind" made. She's gotta let go of all the dresses she's worn before and stop comparing. She'll never find anything if she doesn't. She said it herself, she's over thinking it.
The mother is a very pretty woman and could go to a pagent herself. One of the bridal gowns the bride modeled for work was very lovely on her and she should have chosen it.

So - there's no way to read my comments as any defense of putting a dress - in and of itself - as an important THING , especially _the most_ important. But you seem to be forgetting that most important of all PEOPLE are bride and groom. And they have to feel good, the best - for it to be the good overall experience. And with all, disproportional societal pressure on women to look good, and her being in the spotlight (definitely not a problem for bride in this video, but for many it is) - having a dress that she feels great in may be the most important ~thing~ for the wedding to be enjoyable. So - even if that one often repeated - to the point of cliché - sentence is to be taken literally in a wider sense - that doesn't equal "lost sight of what's actually most important THING about the wedding"

Seems to me they didn't bring in any unique dresses for her to try on. They were all so so except the fit and flare with the lace. That one was beautiful but all the others were yawners. And she had a decent budget too. That last one was boring and so blah, I cant believe she even tried that on. Disappointing . She should go to the UK and get Gok to help her.
Designers need to accept the fact that just because it's white, it's bridal. No. It's not. That first dress, despite the greedy ego-padding price, was NOT bridal. Not even at all.

Women with classically beautiful faces and dark hair like her should wear something more structured without bling or lace. She tried two like that in the trial room but they looked like modern evening gowns. It’s needs to be more “classic” and not common.

All the dresses she tried on here were better than the one she chose, it had a bottom that looked like a quilt and didn't match the flower at the top, and isn't classic, but hey, if she felt beautiful that's all that matters.

I can't even begin to declare my absolute hatred of halter tops. Ladies, for the love of god, run far and fast for from halter-top wedding gowns. It ages you. It doesn't flatter ANYONE, and it's just a horrid choice of uppercuts.
Anything is better than the endless parade of strapless gowns with corset backs, which are promoted by the industry because they are cheaper to make and fit than more attractive styles. For some reason the British SYTTD offers more individual and unique styles.

Did a little of digging and found out that she wore an Oscar De La Renta wedding gown. And she looked gorgeous and happy too.
That was a bit over 10 years ago. By today's standards, I don't think the gown looked amazing and unique at all. But maybe then it was unique?
