  • I had the opportunity to sit down and also chat with Etienne one of the engineers who worked on the all new SCOTT Genius. He was able to share with me some of the design process, what went in to developing the bike and the reasons for having that shock hidden inside the frame.
If you've got any more questions please leave them in the comments section of this video.
Thanks for watching and see you on the trails.

    Really nice video!
Working in the engineering world (unfortunately not into bike industry) I really like this kind of detailed comments that we can get only from the people who actually made the bike.
A factory tour would also be a treat to watch!

@@ScottyLaughland was it any harder to build up than a bike without internal routing or less internal routing (just the gears and dropper, maybe hind brake)? Does the headset/internal routing and internal shock also make it seemingly harder for regular servicing and changing parts? Those two things seem to be a very divisive topic in the mtb community, as they do make the bike look a lot cleaner and less snag points up front, but seem to create a lot more work for home and professional mechanics.

@@ScottyLaughland maybe a focus on the service requirements of the new frame. What are going to be some of the challenges and any new parts will require any particular attention

Great to hear about the details and what went into making this bike. I just wonder why they didn't go for tube in tube cable routing to silence the bike up even more.
And as always: I dig those riding shots.

Thanks man, they had their reasons but in all honesty for the extra 10 - 15 minutes work it takes on build it’s not a big deal. I guess maybe fully routed cable routing might not work with the headset stuff!!

In the video there is alloy version equipped with fox X2 shock. will the frame work with X2 or Ohlins ttx2?

I wonder whether the new Spark will last since it works on carbon flex, I would really prefer it to be like a genius with bushing/bearing.

i was expecting it to be more like scott lumen seattube design. since they have thesame seat angle..
i can't wait to your review of scott lumen.
