really lovely. I am a wood fire potter and i love the affect of the wood ash reacting to the different glazes and clay's.

Ah I'm very jealous!! We have plans to build a small wood fired kiln in the future! I agree the effects you get are so beautiful x

I started about 4 years ago in MD with a group of Artist. I had started ceramics when I was in university for photography. But wood fired pottery I will always do. I only fire that way. @@BlankEarthCeramics

These are absolutely gorgeous. I am new to pottery and just bought my kiln, can’t wait to try.
Wondering if you have a video tutorial on how to make these little cottages with the open bottom, can’t seem to find them on your TH-cam
    Happy pottering 🤍🤍🤍

How exciting your first kiln!! I don't have one on TH-cam but I am planning to film that soon. I think I do have some shorter videos on my insta - instagram.com/reel/ChrdxLGDdy4/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Quick question - do the glazes tend to run at all? I noticed you applied very close to the bottom of the little houses, which by the way are really cute 😊

These didn't run at all :) Thank you for your kind words! xxx

I use Spectrum exclusively on my Raku and you sounded a little disappointed on a couple results. I really dig your results but I can tell you why Nebula and Starry Night didn't develop as fully as possible. Your reduction chamber was WWAAYY too big for your pieces. For small forms like the cabins you really don't want a reduction vessel any larger than a shoebox. I completely understand why you went with a group reduction, and I'm not trying to throw shade either, I'm just offering advice from multiple frustration fueled refires of my own 😁.
The smaller the vessel the better and Spectrum LOVES hardwood chips and glossy magazine pages.
I sound really negative but I do love your results, especially Algae Bloom!!! I never get those metallic flashes that you achieved. Plus I've always shied away from Topaz, I use 886 Lapis, but I should have gone with Topaz. Yours is nicer than mine. This comment is way too long. Beautiful work! Congratulations 👏🎉
P.S. my experience with most crackles has been that thin application makes thin cracks and small islands but thick application makes icebergs with rivers in between

Wow that's so helpful thank you so much for sharing your experience :) This has come at the best time because I'm just going to do my first raku of the year this month. Will be going to the shop to find a smaller vessel and some hardwood chips! Really excited now. I'm getting started making this years Christmas decorations early hehe. Hope you have a fab week!! x

Do you mean the glazes? I get them from Bath Potters in the UK www.bathpotters.co.uk/slips-glazes/raku-glazes/raku-brush-on-glazes/c283?filter=1&f_category=190 but you can also get them direct from their website www.spectrumglazes.com/product-category/glazes/850-series-raku-glazes/
