"Ow!" "Those rocks hurt" "This is the climb I'm worried about" "Scared just to let loose on this" "Ooh that's jarring"
Thanks for the reminder of what it's like to ride a rigid MTB

I myself prefer my potato chips plain.
That trail looks like lots of fun.

It is, I'm going to do a review on it soon once I make a channel logo and intro.

Looks like you have the red model or the second generation Krampus. Mine is the green (first gen) model. I like the minimal maintenance of a rigid bike.

Yeah, but that's gotta hurt to ride on a serious trail...

@@monkayspunker4123 not as much as you might think the flex of the frame and mostly the massive plus tyres take a lot

Nice! I've just bought a Krampus. Can't wait to see what it can do! Are you using standard 29er wheels? Mine came with the Rabbit Hole rims.

Does it ride as smooth as the cam makes it seem?

3" tire + IBIS = better than front suspension.

Does this rigid frame rides smoothly with 29 X 2.5 “?

Hello non-that-average Joe, did you try the Krampus on sustained steep climbs? If so would you like to share some insight? Thanks for the video anyway!

안녕하세요 아우빠. The longest ride I have done on it was about 12miles with 1800 feet of elevation gain and the bike was set up as a 12 speed too. It was ok in both steep and loose conditions but the extra mass of the plus size tires made it not very good at anything technical, it was difficult to quickly build the momentum needed to punch over medium to large size rocks. Doing long climbs on that bike will definitely help build your stamina if you’re going to do a lot of long climbs recommending swapping out the wheel set to something with 29x2.5 or 29x2.6 size tires

Also setting up the Krampus tubeless is a must, it doesn’t seem like a lot of weight you’re removing but it makes an unbelievably huge difference. Thanks for watching!!

@@theaveragejoemtb8614 One last favor? Would it be possible for you to measure the diameter of the toptube and the downtube in the middle and where they meet the headtube? I am about to sell my current frame to buy a Krampus because I fear mine has thiner and weaker tubing. Also any idea what the weight of the frame or frameset was? I found nothing on google about the 2020 frameset

@@아우빠 I don’t remember what the weight of the bare frame was but I will say it’s not a light frame even for a steel bike. A friend currently has the surly and I’m supposed to meet with him this weekend and ride, I’ll get the measurements then. Sorry for not posting anything for a while wife is settled back down and I’m getting a lot more footage together so I should be back on track and posting regular videos soon. Don’t hesitate to ask me anything I’m here to help.
