- Elsa Dreisig from France (soprano) sings "C'est des contrebandiers ... / Je dis que rien ..." from Carmen by Bizet in the final concert of NEUE STIMMEN 2015.
The final was accompanied by the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, led by the English conductor Graeme Jenkins.
Recorded on October 24, 2015 in Gütersloh, Germany.

For me personally, this is the best rendition on youtube of this aria. She sang this so beautifully! What an exquisite performance. You can really feel Micaela's vulnerability, fear, and at the same time, her strong will. Every word is spoken so clearly and with such deep emotions.

omg, she IS Micaëla! her very face at the beginning, even before she sings, is perfect. and then she sings and it's even more so! I hope to see her in this role sometime...

Got to this by accident because of the wrong title which should be: Je dis que rien ne m'épouvante. Having set that, Whow! what a beautiful voice. Such melodic interpretation and lovely technical control. In my opinion so far, the best performance of this beautiful aria is by Anna Moffo (rca 1961). And now we have a new one! Hope to see you performing Micaela soon supported by a matching orchestra and conductor. Toi, toi, toi.
Humphrey de Klerk the last time I heard this was by Romanian soprano Ileana cotrubas I have it on CD Carmen I thought she was Exquisite for the role. This young lady does a beautiful job as well. She has a good bright future congratulations welcome to the met Etc. Arnold Bourbon Amaral

One of the most beautiful opera arias ever written. Here is a very good voice.Would someone teach her how to sing more" forward" and over the note. Good though.

What a beautiful voice and persona. She IS Michaela. Her rendition remind me of Ileana Cotrubas, who in my opinion was the best ever Michaela of last century.

It's nice that she's young and fresh voiced without a wobble and no ingolata. French is good and phrasing is also good. Technically she has a thin and nasal voice with no girare cover or soft palate lift though. As for the best rendition of this aria on youtube, I would look to Mirella Freni's 1963, or Anna Moffo's 1961, or for the absolute best........Eide Norena's 1933.
I agree, not much of a voice here. In this role, I hear Freni in my head as the ultimate exponent. ❤

Micaëla with a steady stamina, a warrior instead of an angel? Ok ok... But WHY the winner is flat and sharp here and there???
I have no idea... And its not only once... To be honest, she is good but not that good. Not a big fan. But that's just my opinion. Yes she has a good diction, but she is so static, and I've already heard this type of voice many times.

excellent overall you would be my winner in this competition--hear me though, the french sound needs a little bit more nasality to bring it forth, even though she is a shy character and in a way very courageous--her French Accent must be 100%. just a thought for later, when you sing it at the met :D

BBH 1975 . Please stop it doesn't matter Ileana cotrubas was Romanian and she did a spectacular job singing micaella I have the CD of Carmen Etc you don't have to be French to sing it well. Alfredo Kraus is proof of this as well. Arnold Bourbon Amaral
She's French and her French is perfect... opera is not chanson a la Edith Piaf, it is not meant to be nasal.
vivement qu'elle gagne aux Victoires ce soir. Et en plus, on la comprend très bien. Elle peu tout faire ! Encore mieux que Fuchs et Devielhe ! Une voix rare, un rpertoire étendu...Bravo !

@@martinboulanger1008 At 25, with a good teacher, those problems would be easily fixed. Age is not an excuse for bad technique. If it would be the sound of an underdeveloped voice, I could agree, with you. But this is simply the wrong technique.
